Just off the main drag in a plaza, this supermarket is great for grabbing essentials, beer, and more. It's the main grocery store servicing the entire Lake Placid area. I used the bathrooms which were clean and easy to find. They had the makeup remover wipes I had forgotten, and great snack options for the drive back home. I would recommend anyone coming into town to stop here!

I rarely shop at this location but because I was in the area I decided to stop in and if I had known I was going to be treated like a criminal I would have never bothered. I had picked up a bottle of antihistamine along with a bunch of other stuff which ended up being over 100 bucks. When it was my turn to check out everything was going fine until the cashier asked me for my ID. Now, if I was purchasing alcohol I would have totally understood them wanting to verify my age but I have never been carded for trying to purchase allergy medication. I will be 40 in April which I told the cashier but she was like nope I need to see your ID and made me go back outside to my car to get it. Mind you, it's the middle of January and it was cold and snowing and there were other people waiting to check out and only one cashier. When I came back and gave her my ID she then proceeds to rub it thinking it's fake. I felt like she was singling me out and her snotty attitude didn't help. Luckily there are other places like this for me to shop at where I'm not treated like a criminal and this cashier needs to be fired so that she cannot treat people like crap.

My RX has been on a national wide shortage and has been a challenge to not only get each month but also plan around and figure out how to best set expectations. Other pharmacies have been curt, unhelpful and made a stressful situation worse - but NOT these folks - they have been SUPERB! I can't say enough about how they have patiently assisted me with questions, educated me when needed and responded promptly each and every time I've needed anything. Again, pharmacies can be an under the radar type of relationship for many of us - but if you have the option - these folks are professional, helpful and all around impressive at their job! They are compassionate human beings who really care. My wife recently passed away and she pretty much handled everything within the household. So, when we decided to still come to Vt as she would have this summer, I thought I did the right thing by getting my son's epilepsy meds before leaving. But, I didn't realize that Rite Aid only filled a third of the prescription and never told me. They did charge me full price though so, I didn't think anything of it. Well, he ran out while we were still here. Dave and Patty went above and beyond to get his prescription and the medicine ordered so my son would have it. And they had it delivered the very next morning. Also, for the same price I pay for it at home. Really, I can't thank them enough! Thank you Dave and Patty! Like I said, I wish they were located in NY because I guarantee that I wouldn't get the same treatment there.

With no fabric store within 50 miles, they took out most of the fabric, leaving a few remnants and the rest prepackaged yards. They no longer carry fleece, and they don't even carry felt squares. Many other items I used to buy have been removed from the store as well, so finding what I am looking for has become much more difficult across the board. PS - the staff has been doing their best, I'm sure they have been receiving a lot of complaints like mine. I surely hope things improve when this is all over!

The website for ordering is not bad; it is daunting at first but once you have your regular items sorted out it's a breeze to create the next order.
