The only Kinton that my boyfriend didn't have a problem with afterwards. Got a seat pretty quickly as we waited for our friends to arrived. We ordered some drinks and enjoyed the night. We all got different ramens and they were all really good, fresh and delicious. Had a great time! The staff were very friendly and patient with us too

It's been a while since I last visited Kinton Ramen, however for a friend who was coming down from Ottawa to visit, we decided to make a visit there. I was a bit hesitant since my last visit to Kinton Ramen in 2016 was disappointing. It was a freezing Friday evening and we needed something to warm up our souls. Luckily Kinton Ramen was nearby and he was craving it for so long. It was 9 pm when we arrived and we were seated quickly fortunately. I was craving something spicy and luckily the Pork Spicy Garlic Ramen did the trick. The broth was full of depth in flavour. I would have preferred a bit more chili powder and less garlic since I love spicy food. However, the broth complimented the al dente thick noodles nicely. The pork shoulder was nice and tender to bring the whole bowl together. My friend ordered the Pork Miso Ramen and he enjoyed it thoroughly. The garlic oil added an umami touch to the broth which brought the whole bowl together. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to this location. The service was excellent and the server were very eager when I finished my bowl. It's a tradition at Kinton that if you finish the whole bowl of ramen, you get your picture taken to be shown on their Kinton Bowler Instagram page.

This place is A+ every time! Speedy and friendly service, great vegan ramen (you have to get the bean curd), and the kakiage appetizer is life-changing. My meat-eating companions will vouch for the chicken options and beef.

Kinton ramen is one of Toronto's biggeat ramen chains, and the one that almost every ramen lover is aware of. While I'm not a huge fan of Kinton's regular ramen bowls, I can wholeheartedly recommend all their dipped ramen: their cold tsukemen during the summer, the September hot limited fish tsukemen; they are all amazing! The strength of the tastes of Kinton's dipped ramen are all really deep and intense. It's not for those that prefer lighter ramen, but for everyone else it would definitely be worth a try. I'll give Kinton's executive chef a lot of praise for this. The only sad thing is their dipped ramen are all limited time specials, so you can't enjoy it anytime you want.

Kinton Ramen is my go-to ramen spot in the hood. Sometimes I get the craving and maybe it's the scent of the salty broth that brings me to their rusty pig in their front yard. When I was at the Cameron House, which is almost next door, I suddently got the urge and within seconds I had a bright yellow bowl of shrimp dotted elixir staring at me. It's amazing how that works! Service here simply blows A&W and McD's out of the Queen Street water for a fast food snack. Sit down, shut up, and slurp your ramen! I've only recently started checking out the different ramen spots around, and this Kinton rates as second best after Isshin Ramen on College St. with Kenzo Ramen third place. Be aware that this one is in a high traffic heavily traveled tourist area so at peak times it may be difficult to find seating. This joint is almost always full of people from all over the world.

My beau and I came here on a freezing day in Toronto, after the emotional draining movie, The Joker. We were in search of some real comfort food, that would make us feel whole and warm after such a despairing movie and the snowy, tiring day. We definitely came to the right place! I got the Pork Spicy Garlic Ramen, and my bf got the specialty ramen choice. We also got a cocktail and cold sake (and it was a GENEROUS pour). As soon as we took our first bites, we felt better. It was a delicious confluence of flavors, and it was exactly what we needed. The diners that were at our table were very friendly and kind, and the staff were super nice as well. Definitely a great spot!

I'm a little more disappointed every time I eat at Kinton Ramen. I'm not sure if it's because the quality of the ramen has declined or if it's because there are now many more ramen places in the GTA that are better. Either way, it's not great. As a lover of garlic and spice, it's a no brainer for me to order the Pork Spicy Garlic ramen. It was definitely garlicky and it had a nice spice; however, it lacked depth. The broth was lacking richness and was a tad too salty. The ramen had two pieces of pork, one was tender but the other piece was tough and chewy. This was the first time I had chewy pork in ramen! The noodles were good, they had a nice bite and didn't get soggy in the broth but it didn't seem like there was much of it. The staff are very friendly but the service was slow. The restaurant wasn't full so I was seated fairly quick but it took over 30 minutes for me to receive my food. The interior has rustic wooden decor which feels like a blend of Japanese and Western design. It's cozy and has a good energy. The tall wooden seats can get a little uncomfortable and hard to maneuver though. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and there are definitely better ramen places in the GTA.

I was texting with my friend in Costa Rica and he recommended Toronto's Kinton - how could I ignore a shout out from 6000 miles away? Kinton did not disappoint. I was warmly greeted by the staff and ordered the spicy pork ramen (thick noodles) with mushrooms an grated garlic. The broth is hearty but not heavy or leaden like some I've had. Truly a delicious bowl of soup. I'll definitely come back - the only thing I'll avoid is taking the first seat at the bar by entrance. Way too many people waiting to be seated watching me eat

Kinton Ramen is one of the BEST spots for lunch and dinner, with a group or single, regular or once a month, and is especially true for special occasions like a date or with someone new in town. The selection is varied, taste is high-tier, seating space is abundant, atmosphere is pub-like, and the overall experience is enjoyable. They occasionally have the special ramen-of-the-month bowls where they offer a different combination or theme of ingredients. Be sure to check their Facebook page to see what's new. Overall, I can recommend Kinton Ramen. Be sure to come around 11am before the 12pm rush.

    1. Ton ton don was over priced for how small it was ($4.5), the rice was REALLY tiny (smaller than a normal bowl of rice) and there was probably one teaspoon of pork on it. A tiny bowl of plain rice was $2, which is also over priced for the same reason 2. Spicy kaarage was really good but I would get the normal one next time since the spicy sauce kind of tastes like sweet and sour sauce. I prefer the original! The actual chicken itself was cooked and fried well though, super tender.

The food's great! It's just that everything around the edges is ho-hum. I'm not nearly up on "ramen culture" as some of my friends (my knowledge is limited to the kind of stuff that's served in pho restaurants). When a buddy of mine who came over from the Isle of Man decided that we check out Kinton for some "authentic" ramen, I couldn't say no, and my six-man group braved the harsh Toronto winter to venture over here. To say this is a small venue is an understatement. I'm not familiar with the other locations in the city, but calling this a "hole in the wall" is being extremely charitable. The place consists of a handful of small tables and a bar/table setup that runs down the centre of the restaurant. Long lineups are common, and it was quickly made clear that the place doesn't run on any sort of reservation system, instead resorting to names scribbed on paper as an alternative. That being said, 25 minutes later, we were whisked to our table. If I have a problem with Kinton, it's certainly not with the food. I ended up ordering that month's special, Tonkotsu Sakana Ramen, which is essentially anchovy ramen kicked up to 11. A surprisingly-complex broth, infused egg, umami, nori, pork belly and scallion (among other ingredients) had me immediately gravitating to it, and the warm, salty broth had me nearly ready to go for seconds, despite having filled up earlier in the day on heavy carbs. I was also somewhat amused by the ambiance of the place. The staff give you a friendly greeting when you leave the restaurant, and patrons who finish off their bowl "to the last drop" get a picture taken for the restaurant's Instagram account, complete with servers posing with laser swords (uh?). It's a strange mindset, but it certainly made the experience stand out. What also made the dinner stand out was the poor way the bills were calculated. Our server informed us at the beginning of the meal that it would be impossible to do six separate bills, and so what followed at the end of the night was a complicated process of figuring out who ordered what and which groups had to pay together to fit the weird arbitrary restriction of a maximum of four separate bills per group. I felt bad for the waitress - by the time she was done marking up our bill to identify who ordered what, it looked like a half-assed treasure map. I am bewildered as to who set this policy, and no, I don't believe for a second it was a decision by the head office. If you don't have the capability to separate orders (despite people telling you just to break the bills into two tables), and have to spend several minutes figuring out things, you're just wasting my time and yours. Ironic, considering that they hustle people out when they're finished. Not that I have a problem with that in a venue like this, but you're wasting any sort of gains who could have made with this complex and silly system that keeps your servers engaged when they could be busy tending to other customers. In the end, I was satisfied with my visit to Kinton Ramen, but knowing what I know now about their billing policies, it makes me hesitant to go back. 3.5/5.

So having eaten at probably all the ramen shops in toronto, kinton doesn't crack the top 3 but I WILL give it consideration to crack top 5 (prolly 5 or 6 imo). Pick your broth flavour (be sure to ask for "rich" broth after u pick your flavour since it's now considered secret menu so to speak; hence why so many ppl complaining about watered-down broths as opposed to when they first opened). I've tried all the broths and theyre all quite tasty though not the best in the business. Go with thick noodles, trust bro. One thing that gets a minus from me is the fact that only their original sea salt (shio) ramen includes an egg when the kingpin counterparts (sansotei, ryus, etc.) all include it at no extra charge. Not only that, the egg tends to be slightly overdone at kinton (runny yolk that turns more hardboiled as it reaches the edges instead of fully runny). The "new" menu revamp (not really that new anymore) also doesnt distinguish pork belly and pork shoulder anymore so ull be getting one slice of each (unless u order the extra pork option). I always order the extra pork option. You get triple the pork! Mmmmmmm porkkkkk. Extra pork IS a lil on the pricy side though so if you're all about value then maybe think twice. Pork belly more fatty while shoulder is more lean. Both very tender still. You can request for more of either one over the other I think?? The age gyoza is the best side dish at kinton. Um, prolly try it at least once. k thanks Service is always on point at all the kintons (been to all of them). Pros: very good/decent ramen and broth, great chashu, great service, great casual atmosphere Cons: a lil bit on the pricier side in relation to its contemporaries (excluding santouka cuz santouka is "wtf" expensive lol), egg is not always properly done, lots of bowl customization needed to feel full Like I said, not top 3 but possibly top 5? Definitely top 10 though.

I'd been to KINTON before, about a year ago. It was at the beginning of the ramen rave in Toronto, and was the first bowl of ramen I'd ever tried. I was underwhelmed. The pork broth was too porky for my liking, and nothing about it stood out as anything to get too excited about. Having since had ramen that really impressed me, I thought I'd rediscover KINTON with a new-found appreciation for the dish. Unfortunately, no. Having tried really great ramen elsewhere only highlighted the things that make this ramen sub-par. The broth is still too porky for me. I enjoyed the creamy richness, but that's just what ramen is. By any standard, KINTON is bland. The noodles themselves are good - I enjoyed the bouncy bite back and the mouthfeel of having a bunch of yummy noodles to contend with at one time, but again, that's what ramen is supposed to be. KINTON ramen just doesn't go above or beyond. It lacks in the flavour department, and, for the price, just doesn't make sense. You can get better for cheaper elsewhere. The place itself is nice - lots of wood, which was in line with the presentation of the ramen. They give you a rustic wooden spoon with a wide face which I honestly think is brilliant - perfect way to balance broth and noodle ratio in every bite. The service was good. Won't be back anytime soon.

Konjiki is good, far from great, but very solid. The broth has the right consistency with a satisfying richness, falling just a touch short of the deep, creamy intensity I personally look for. The noodles were cooked perfectly, maintaining just the right amount of bite. Nothing ruins a bowl of ramen faster than overcooked noodles. The soft-boiled egg was equally well executed, with a perfectly jammy center, and the chashu had excellent flavor and texture. My biggest criticism isn't what's missing....it's what's added. Like many ramen shops outside Japan, Konjiki includes pickled ginger, pickled takana, and braised bamboo shoots. For me, none of them improve the bowl. In fact, I think they distract from what should be the star of the show: the broth. In hindsight, I could have easily asked for them to be left out, but I've never really understood why they're included in the first place. Even so, this is a very respectable bowl of tonkotsu ramen and one I'd happily order again.

My friend ordered the Avocado Vegetarian Ramen as part of a set. We were both intrigued by the taste of the broth. It was creamy, but not super thick, and had a fresh, vegetal taste. One miss this time was that my friend ordered a drink, but unfortunately it did not come out at all while we ate. We mentioned it when asking for our bill and asked that it just be cancelled, which the server was apologetic about. Interior is kept clean, which some table seating along both walls and also a long high-top bar (communal) in the middle. There's isn't any parking designated to the restaurant, but there's options for paid street parking a short walk away.

I'm not sure why I had this Ramen place bookmarked in my phone but I decided to give it a try one…read moreevening with friends during the work week. I really enjoyed the food, it was delicious. The black garlic ramen, veggie gyoza and Takoyaki were all savoury and fantastic. The portion sizes for price were appropriate and I ended up taking some of it home. They're all beautiful dishes on the plate. Service was friendly and quick, we were greeted, seated and served within minutes of walking in. Soon after we sat down, the restaurant filled up with other patrons which is a good sign. However I also judge a restaurant based on its cleanliness and the washrooms leave much to be desired. If a restaurant's washrooms aren't clean, it gives you a window into how dirty the kitchen and back of house are. The washrooms are in a serious need of a cleaning. There is black filth on the white doors, everything has a bit of a grime covering multiple surfaces. Overall, the food is delicious, I would return but maybe for take-out next time. Please clean your restaurant.

The food was delicious; I especially enjoyed the creamy mushroom ramen broth and veggie gyoza. The gyoza was part of a deal with one app and a pint of Sapporo for 14.99 ^^ The atmosphere inside was super Christmasy! The staff were all friendly and attentive :) I would come back again!
