So patient, really kind, always answered my questions - which I had a LOT of. I had a very specific vision in mind for flowers: "dark spring," which sounds so confusing lol. But I wanted medium-dark mauves and pinks, medium oranges and yellows, and light blues and purples. And even though my description of "dark spring" was very specific and not that helpful when hearing it for the first time, Kayanna took the time to pick flowers with me and she really brought my vision to life. Flowers were low on our priority list for our wedding. We were doing an intimate, simple event and weren't sure we were up for the expense and trouble. But thinking about it more, we wanted our ceremony and reception venues to look beautiful and celebratory, so we decided to make the investment. We arrived at Kirkwood Florist super ignorant about flower options. Megan patiently showed us images from previous weddings to help us narrow down what we were looking for. It turned out that we did have a vision for what we wanted, we just needed help understanding what the heck that was and bringing it to life. Their shop is also really pleasant to visit and not snobby at all, and had a professional and welcoming vibe. The flowers wound up being stunning and exceeding our expectations. We got a couple of altar arrangements for the ceremony, centerpieces for our reception tables, and a bouquet and boutonniere. They were not cheap--our final cost, including delivery and set-up, was about $1350 for our 30-person event. But the flowers were gorgeous and long-lasting. Our guests also were eager to take the centerpieces home with them after the party. Megan was well organized and responsive to emails, and made the delivery process easy. We highly recommend Kirkwood Florist. If we were doing it all over, we would have gotten quotes from several vendors and had a clearer picture of our budget in advance. But we have no regrets about how everything turned out! read more

Substandard roses. I received a boquet yesterday and it's less than 24 hours old and half the roses are dying. The stems were cutr so short that even with a full vase they barely reach water. I will have to disassemble this to give these more life. I heard what these cost and I would not suggest going back. The greenery was pretty and I like the assortment of greens but the roses are terrible. Save your money. read more

Lovely florist off of Manchester Road with a great selection of bouquets, plants, and other decorative items for the home. The staff were friendly and helpful when I came in. I didn't really have any price range in mind, I just wanted to find a bouquet that is beautiful and one of the ladies helped me pick one out and explained to me which flowers would last the longest. The flowers are fresh, the arrangements are beautiful and they carry a wide variety, and they have the most adorable and creative vases! The bouquet I ended up buying came in a cool reusable jar container with a cover and a cute design. They have regular flowers as well as some orchids and the great thing is, you can go there and pick an arrangement without having to wait even on a holiday! I came in the day before Mother's Day and had no problem purchasing a nice bouquet. The prices are very reasonable and comparable to the other florists in the area. This florist did the flowers for my daughters wedding. When they arrived at the wedding, my daughter the bride could not tell which bouquet was hers. Her bouquet had 4 more flowers than the bridesmaids. It did not look anything like a bridal bouquet. The boutonnières were a huge rose with brown around the petals and 1/2 bloomed. Two of the flowers broke off because they were so big that two groomsmen did not have a flower. By the end of the night the roses had fully bloomed and the petals fell off leaving a stem on several of them. I sent the florist pictures with my complaint and received no call or acknowledgement. They also forgot to bring the toss bouquet so we did not have flowers to throw. These flowers were extremely expensive. I also needed a quote for a wreath of flowers around a small ice sculpture. They quoted me 1500. I ended up getting one at Dierbergs for less than 200 delivery included and the flowers were more fresh and exactly what my daughter had wanted in her arrangements. You only have one special day for your weddings. Unfortunately they cannot be replaced. It's so hard to find a good florist when you're sending from another city. I find that florist websites are typically not the greatest at featuring their products. I called this florist because I didn't see what I wanted. I find calling is always better than ordering online. I ordered a large orchid to be delivered the same day. I described the client and what she liked and the sales person took great notes. A GIANT orchid arrived on time and it was perfect. My friend loved it. My wedding is coming up and I needed flowers. My Dad recommended we try Kirkwood Florist, as that's who my parents used for their wedding thirty years ago. I call and set up an appointment with Marianne, and my Dad and I meet at the designated time. As we get to the door we see a big dog sitting just inside, smiling at us. We open the door and walk in, and the dog sniffs us as she moves out of our way. The place smells great with all the flowers and plants, and has that cool humid feel. To the left are all the flowers, both in a glass refrigerated case as well as water pots. A large iron trellis sits by the flowers with more water pots going up its sides with the flowers sitting in the pots, decorating the trellis nicely. Little trinkets, fountains, furniture, flower pots and house plants balance out the right side of the room. The building is deep, and the desk sits far in the back. We were greeted by both Marianne and a big black lab who loves to follow her around the store. We sit and she gets to showing us book after book of samples for the wedding. Both her humor and her knowledge were bang on, and she was a great help to us. Everything is picked, and I can't wait to see the job they do. Most recently ordered two centerpieces for Christmas and they were elegant and attractive - not just greenery and carnations. They lasted for a very long time as well. Very disappointed in a very special request of a fall arrangement that made me say "WOW"! It's for my mother's celebration of life. I walked in to pick up the arrangement and just stood there and asked "that's $150 arrangement? ". It's drab, purple with too much green and 4 random peach roses. The lady at the desk said I agree with you but purple is a non color. There were many empty holes throughout the arrangement and the vase was a large and tall heavy crystal vase in which their arrangement was not 1.5 times the height of the vase. This was a call-in order for a get-well bouquet. I am so very disappointed with the flowers ordered as "designer's choice." It included a balloon and "spring flowers." Kirkwood Florist did my wedding flowers about a month ago. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for any floral arrangements! Everything was perfect, from the planning, to the arrangements, to the service! I came to my first appointment straight from the bridal boutique telling me that they could not do my bridesmaid dresses after all (after being told it would work and designing everything else around those dresses). We sat down with Jon, who completely calmed my mother and I down - even though we could not decide on flowers because we did not know the colors! Jon and the rest of the staff bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable at such a stressful time. When we finally found bridesmaid dresses and brought them into the store, Jon immediately had tons of ideas to incorporate the color scheme I had originally wanted. He came up with beautiful and unique arrangements that were perfect! When the flowers that I had chosen ended up being a little more pricey than our planned budget, Jon came up with an arrangement that I couldn't even notice was any different, yet fit perfectly with our budget! Jon continued to stay in touch all the way up to the wedding day - making sure that I had everything that I needed. With his connections around town, he was able to give many suggestions as to different vendors (for photography, catering, etc!). On the wedding day, Kirkwood Florist decorated the church beautifully, and everything was ready with plenty of time for pictures. The flower girl and ring bearer looked absolutely adorable with their very own miniature arrangements that matched perfectly! Jon even ended up being the one who waited with us in the back of the church and told us when to walk down the aisle! Kirkwood Florist also decorated my cake and made it look better than I thought possible! We were very happy with everything! (And the arrangements lasted for so long after the wedding!) The wedding was rustic, and Susie created a stunning wild bouquet of fresh and dried flowers and grasses, adding wheat and dried lavender and wrapping the stems in burlap and lace I brought her to match the bouquets I made for the bridesmaids. She made matching flower boxes to hang from the wood posts of the outdoor altar, so beautiful I kept them as table centerpieces until finally taking them apart to put what flowers left in good shape into vases. I was pleased to find a florist who did not insist on doing all the flowers for the wedding and who would work with us on price point and theme. Our church is in the Dayton, OH area and one of our congregants lost a family member in the St. Louis area. I looked up florists online and found Kirkwood Florist. I placed the order online mid to late afternoon EDT and didn't expect to have the order delivered until the next day. I received an email from the florist after placing the order saying that they would be sure to have the arrangement delivered that same day to arrive in time for the viewing which was in just a few hours.
