Throughout my case, there was so much miscommunication that I was left without a clear understanding of what my sentence would actually involve and what would be expected of me. I repeatedly felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, my questions were not properly answered, and important details about my plea, probation, and license were not clearly explained to me. I often had to chase down answers myself and do my own research just to understand what was happening with my own case. When I did speak with my attorney, I often felt talked down to and treated as though my questions were a burden. I expected professional communication and patience, especially considering the amount of money I paid for representation. For $5,000, I expected someone who would communicate with me, prepare me, explain my options, listen to my concerns, and actually advocate for me. Instead, I felt like my case was treated as though it wasn't important. Quite honestly, I feel I would have received the same level of attention from a free public defender--and at least then I wouldn't have paid $5,000 expecting personalized legal representation. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. I would not recommend this firm to anyone who expects their attorney to communicate with them, treat them with respect, answer their questions, and genuinely advocate for their interests. $5,000 is a significant amount of money.
