The school requested $200 for security deposit and key fob deposit ($20/each). I paid $260 in total. After my daughter graduated, I returned the key fobs and asking for refund. The lady who works at the front told me that they will contact me. Long story short it never happened. I went there couple times but they always just ask me to wait. Finally I got a call from Dr. Shell by end of September 2024, instead of letting me know how can I get the money back, she spend the time explaining the problem with the system to me and told me that's why I can't get the money back. I was so confused, if there is a system problem, isn't it your job to fix it? She said she will call me back after two weeks to let me know the results and I never received any call back from them. I tried so many times to call or visit in person. I know $260 is not a big amount but it's my money. I don't understand why is it so difficult to just get my money back. The teachers there are nice but staff are horrible. Especially the Assistant Director. She is very impatient and also full of attitude. There was once that she is kept yelling that I tried to ask her to clam down. Until I said there is a camera you know that right? She finally calm and stop yelling it was happened at the front desk. She was even once hung up the phone on my husband. I don't know if I can get the money back but feel I should share my experience at least, hopefully it won't happen on other people.

My 3 year old attended as a 3k student in which the love, warmth, and guidance he received from Ms. Michelle and Ms. Galilea was unparalleled. He was challenged with new letters, engaged in fun arts projects, and was frequently brought outside with his friends. My 6 month year old received above and beyond attention and care from Ms. Jo-ann, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Karina, and Ms. Esther. When he left they created a book to remember TLE by--and weeks later when we would say Ms. Esthers name he would smile and make noises! All the teachers knew both my boys personally and would communicate daily about their milestones. The admin team at the time of Ms. Erica and Mr. Richard were also phenomenal. They communicated effectively, and despite running a school with so many young people, knew my boys well! TLE felt like a home away from home. We had traveled to the daycare/3K site and only left to be closer to home and have less of a commute. If you are in the LIC area, I cannot recommend both the care and educational experience of the Learning Experience!

Both of my children developed special relationships with the staff. My daughter, currently 21 months old, has developed an extremely close bond with Aulona. Aulona is wonderful with communicating with me throughout the day and I know my daughter is in good hands with her. Jasmine is my daughter's teacher and she is terrific at maintaining a routine and communicating with me if there is an issue or concern. My older son, now in 3K, grew very close to Stephanie in the 2 year old classroom. They developed a close bond and always looked forward to seeing her. As an infant, he grew close to Ms Arifa in the infant classroom. The hours are fantastic and Stephanie is extremely reliable in ensuring the building is open and ready for children at 7am. There have been minor issues in the past with communication; however, the staff caring for my daughter currently are very caring and she loves going to school every day.

My maternity leave ended a couple months ago, and after writing this review I'm declaring success. Yes, new mamas, it is possible to write up to 10 paragraphs after having a baby, as long as you're realistic and give yourself several months to accomplish the task!! I toured Little Ones, both the original facility on 48th Avenue and the new-in-2013 Pre-K facility on 5th Street, during my maternity leave, and I was impressed. Both facilities are outstanding. I spoke with three teachers and the owner, Karen, over the course of my tour, and all impressed me as being accomplished educators and good communicators. Little Ones offers full-day care for children ages 2 to Pre-K. The original facility has 3 loosely-defined classroom areas and a gym, all with natural light. The whole space is open to the children during open play periods, so instead of a bunch of little classrooms each with a little blocks area (or art area etc.), each area is BIG and has a lot of space and materials. For circle time in the original facility, kids are split into 3 multi-age classes of 15 kids each, each with a head teacher and two assistant teachers. The new Pre-K space, serving a class of 24 kids with 3 teachers, is even cooler, since it has its own private outdoor space with a climbing area, and a two-storey / two-classroom building behind the outdoor space. At Little Ones, kids bring their lunch every day, and parents take care of snacks for the school one week a year. The cost is somewhat higher than other options at about $12/hour of care, and there's no Pre-K discount. Tuition is due far in advance on a "school year" basis, and refunds for unused time if you move are not guaranteed. Someone once warned me that Karen is wonderful with kids, but can sometimes come off as a little high-handed with adults: "it was like she was interviewing me, not the other way around." I do think that Karen is interested in the "fit" of families in her school. She asked me a few questions about my family and why we might be interested in Little Ones, which I thought was perfectly appropriate. My girls currently attend Lolly's/Brighter Babies and we've found our community there. That said, the parents I know who send their kids here are really happy. It is great to have this wonderful option in the neighborhood. Good luck finding the right school for your family!!

My son loves this place. It's not just a place to watch your children, but a family and educational environment. Very flexible and accommodating for working parents. I will always recommend this daycare to working parents looking for a safe environment for their child.
