The trails are good for dogs, stopping and sitting along the way and even picnics as well as photo opportunities. There are a few restrooms and even a place to buy water if you forgot yours. Additionally, parking is adequate, but Im sure at peak times then maybe not. So what are you waiting for, get your shoes on and head over to E Carroll Joyner Park to get some fresh air and maybe even some exercise. Don't forget, it is pet friendly as long as it's not an alligator.

I was there Friday for a Wake Forest Fungo baseball game. The team and league are comprised of college baseball players (mainly division 2 & 3) who play for the summer. The field they are on has been improved from an open cut infield to a grass one and they built an announcers box and snack stand. They also added batting cages and covered stands on both sides. It was fun coming out although is was hot and close to 100 degrees at game time which was 6:30pm. They do sell light snacks, soda and beer at the venue.

There are also shaded turf areas with seating, which is a nice touch for parents who want to stay out of the sun while keeping an eye on the kids. A few things kept it from being a 5-star visit. The parking lot is very small, there is only one restroom for the splash pad area, and I wish there was a small gate or fence around it since it's so open. I also expected it to be a little larger than it is. Overall, it's a clean, enjoyable, and free place to cool off on a hot day. I'd definitely come back.

There was plenty of parking, I am not sure how it would be earlier during the day but it was great parking around the time that we went. As we were walking up there was a staff member there letting down the flag and she asked us how she could help us she was really nice. We noticed that they had an outdoor basketball court so we used them restroom and went straight there. The bathrooms were clean too. Which was great for small children who love to touch things. The park was really nice but we were only there for basketball court which was cool. One of the goals had a glass missing which was okay but for someone who likes to make all of their shots it was an inconvenience. But the park overall was clean and really nice. Overall it's one of the nice parks in Raleigh and we would love to go back.
