Review #872 2025-045…read more Handelsplats Höganäs Outlet is located on the north side/outskirts of Höganäs with plenty of parking surrounding the shops. The stores are not connected & may be a bit of a walk between businesses. Businesses include: Oscar Jacobson Outlet, Höganäs Bokoutlet, Savannah Living, Iittala Outlet, Keramiskt Center, T.U.H Inredning, Kastanjegårdens, Café & Marsala, Orrefors Kosta Boda, Pannkaksladan, Cookstore.se Outlet, Höganäs Auktionsverk, Sportware, Second Hand. We typically come here for the Iittala Outlet (refer to Review #871) for Moomin-themed products, mostly mugs & the occasional clothes, & having some glass (ice cream) at the cafe. I haven't explored the outlets too much. We visited Pannkaksladan (refer to Review #872) when our kids were younger. It's a Scanian farmhouse dating back to the 18th century & transitioned to a family-oriented restaurant in 2010 that serves a pancake buffet & other "good shit" while offering family-friendly entertainment: kids playground, go-karts, children's theater, zoo (alpacas, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, hens), 55-meter long obstacle course, etc. I love books but haven't been to Höganäs Bokoutlet yet, thinking that the books are likely in Swedish only. I'll have to come back to the outlets to confirm. I'm guessing Second Hand is a thrift store, & will also need to check them out, especially since H has gotten into thrifting from her godmother & godsister. And a peek at Sportware, in case we can get some bargain sportswear &.or equipment. All the shops we visited have friendly & welcoming customer service... so much that they spoke to me in Swedish until I couldn't understand & politely asked for an English translation. Still need to work on my basic vocabulary & comprehension. If you're a bargain hunter, then Handelsplats Höganäs Outlet may be the place for you to get the "bang for your buck," or a modest discount from the insane retail prices. Happy bargain hunting!

Søstrene Grene is a chain of low-cost home decor shop that everyone loves (mostly because it's the…read morelow-cost thing). I love the fact that they open one so close to my office in Herlev - as in dangerously close - as I have to pass by their shop every time I go home from work. This place is just like any other Søstrene Grene shop with home decor items (pillows, tables, throws, pots) and kitchen stuff (bowls, mugs, glasses etc) and painting supplies, not to mention the odd items like spices, chocolates, tea and the likes. Personally I like Søstrene Grene because of their knick knack items, and here where I got all the "weird" bar utensils including the martini and wine glasses. Hey, when you serve alcohol, I don't think anyone would care whether the glasses are from Holmegaard or from Søstrene Grene :) Anyway, it's a nice alternative to Tiger

The store offers second-hand products & outlet bargains as well as a wide range of first-hand products on Nordic design products from brands such as Iittala, Rörstrand, MoominArabia, Arabia, & Fiskars for the entire home: glass & porcelain, cooking & frying products, garden tools & inspiring interior design items. I'm mainly here for the Moomin goods, & have been collecting the dinnerware, mugs, & utensils each time I visit my MIL. On my recent return to Sweden, I'm picking up Moomin souvenirs for my daughter's godmother's family & my Yelp buddy, Lily W. I got a collection of adorable Moomin shot mugs for Eriko N. (godmother) & cute Moomin mugs for her kids (godbrother & godsister). And for Miss Lily a cute set of Moomin teaspoons. I also picked up a couple of pillowcases for my kids. They had some logo scissors but I couldn't justify $15 USD for a pair of kids scissors, no matter how cute the design looks. Moomin has a sale of 30% - 60% discount on dinnerware, mugs, utensils, & napkins; no markdowns on the new season items. They also carry Fiskars that's best known for its iconic orange-handled scissors (in 1980s) & gardening, creating, & cooking products. It was founded back in 1649 as an ironworks by the Fiskars river in Finland. Pans & casseroles are made in Finland at Fiskars' environmental management certified (ISO 14001) factory. Arabia is known for their ceramics & crockeries. I saw some nice soup/cereal bowls, bit skipped it because of my luggage & weight limitations. Iittala also had some nice solid color bowls. They had a Kullamust (apple juice) sale at almost 1/3 of the regular price; I didn't pick up any because my MIL stocked up for our visit. I only wished they had Yulmust (spiced cola) that's only available during Christmas season; I think this is way better than Coca-Cola. What's great is the store has a gift wrapping station by the exit to wrap the delicate glasses & ceramics to transport safely home, or wrap as a gift. They even supply ribbons! The clerk said since we're visitors, we may be able to claim the VAT when we leave. Yay! If you're looking for a good bargain, come to Iittala Outlet for Nordic product deals, especially on Moomin as this seems to be trending in the U.S./South Bay lately.

Review #874 2025-047…read more Lager 157 is one of many outlets in Handelsplats Höganäs Outlet (refer to Review #872) that's located on the north side/outskirts of Höganäs with plenty of parking near the store. Its name comes from road 157 that runs through the company's birthplace, Gällstad. According to their website, "from the textile production & trade traditions in the Sjuhäradsbygden area (around Borås in Västergötland being the center of Swedish denim production), Lager 157 was born in Gällstad with the goal of delivering a relevant 'value for money' fashion offering to customers." Their 1999 start was with their community via word of mouth without traditional marketing; followed by e-com distribution with an early focus on building a coordinated omni-channel offering a decade later & sold their own brand "157" (which comes from the number of the road that runs outside the office) in 2014. Norway was the 1st export market, & expect to expand beyond the Nordic region in the next few years. While there isn't a direct American equivalent to Lager 157, Uniqlo comes closest in terms of its business model & product focus. Lager 57's clothes seem functional, well-made, & fairly affordable. I liked the jeans... simple design with durable fabric (at least it felt like it). We didn't pick-up any school basics for the kids; we did find some sale (rea) on a boy's t-shirt for my 9 YO, & women's floral skirt & camisoles for my 15 YO. I liked the thickness of the camisoles, & expect it to weather the wear & tear of many washings; the t-shirt seems comfy without being too heavy. The outlet is open & spacious, with each department clearly separated & sales clearly marked. I didn't see any floor staff when we were browsing, but the cashier was helpful & friendly. While Lager 57 isn't a standout in being trendy or fashion-forward, you can find good deals & quality clothes for you & your family. Trevlig shopping!

There is also for sale everything one may need for their bike and a repair shop on site. Definitely will be buying out next bike here since the standard of customer service was great
