I was part of a wedding party. We got hair and makeup done here. It was nice to see a sign with the brides name as we walked in. I did feel the design of the studio is a lot of single or double chairs spaced out so with a group they have you somewhat together but at times you are away from your party. I always enjoy sitting together when in weddings. Both the hair and makeup were quite rushed, but it looked fine enough for pictures until a couple of us had our fake eyelashes coming off I do know they refunded one person it happened to. I know the makeup lady I had kept asking if she was staying on pace to coworkers. That being said, they did have our hair and makeup time later in the morning than other weddings I've been in which was nice to sleep in. Overall, with a more quality experience of slowing down on service and improved eyelashes I think things can be improved. I think before I left the ladies had to rep in some of my hairs 3 times so that was new for me too, but I was happy to have such helpful people. read more

Do not ever go here for hair extensions. There actual website only has nearly 5 stars because they only accept the ones with 4 or 5 stars. I got my hair done last year and paid over $700 for hair extensions that looked like absolute garbage! I called and explained and they wanted me to come in and get it cut to see if that was better. They then charged me over $50 to cut it. The hair still looked so bad I had my mom take them out for me. I called requesting a refund. They told me I could not get a refund because they don't refund hair. They wanted me to come in and get them put back in by someone else. That would not have solved anything considering the "fake hair" was cut and thinned out etc aka ruined. The whole thing was an absolute disaster and I will never ever go back!!! I have been going to Katie for over two years. I asked her to cut my hair with not a lot of length off, but to add layers. The cut she gave me made me look like a boy. And she did an eyebrow wax and they are uneven. I won't be going back to Kj And and won't recommend her. read more

Came in about a week ago for a style before attending a friend's wedding. The people who greeted me at the front weren't the nicest, but the service and my results absolutely made up for it! My stylist didn't charge me the full amount because I didn't require a shampoo, which I really appreciated. I'd definitely come back in the future! read more

I went into the experience very optimistic, wedding party events I know are a lot for those in this industry. My hairdo experience was stressful, but luckily another beautican stepped in to assist, the only downfall was my hair did not stay in place most of the night. The Bobbi pin were all showing and constantly popping out of place. I made them aware that my hair was very fine and didn't hold the best, so styling was key. I've had my hair done MANY MANY times for wedding updos and this was one of the least comfortable hairdos I've experienced. Makeup went similar, I expressed what colors I prefered and the lady applying my makeup not once had me check in the mirror or show me color palette options. I even expressed who's makeup I liked in our bridal party prior. I then ended up with a look I had to have her redo, which wasn't something I would normally do. I then come to find out another makeup artist in the chair next to me was making fun of me to one of the other bridesmaids in my group staying "does she even know anything about makeup." She also was making comments during my makeup process. I already had anxieties about this, and that made me more uncomfortable during this all. For the price and lack of professionalism I would not recommend. Other ladies in the part also said some of the other staff were rude and didn't acknowledge what they requested, otherwise just did what they wanted. Just very upsetting as these services aren't cheap. read more

Do NOT waist your Time or money Hair color WRONG!! Haircut CROOKED and showed the stylist the same exact picture my daughter did and I was called a liar! Why would I show you a completely different picture than what my daughter showed you?! I kept asking the stylist how all of her hair was going to look lighter if all she was doing was foiling some streaks. She informed me that the biolage is done this way and that it will have more blonde than what we think. Well you're wrong it's not at all what we wanted we wanted light blonde everywhere except for the right so apparently We wanted an ombré! And if the Stylist would've actually sat down and talked and answered all questions before she just went and mix the color. Maybe my $200 wouldn't have been wasted and we would've gotten what we asked for. Instead I was told that I could come back and spend another $200 and have her correct it. Not made of money and that would've made my car payment so no. The manager called me the next day And took the stylist side which was wrong because she wasn't there and I showed the exact same picture. What happened to the customer is always right.! They are running a scam there are a few stylist at the salon that are getting a bad rap from the bad ones. I had Charlie who cut my hair and put a protein in it and it was fabulous! But said she works with people that are like this and they tried to take advantage of us, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND nor Will I EVER go back to this Salon!!! The so called stylist we had for my daughter has 22 years experience?! She needs to go back to school and learn how to cut hair straight and listen to her clients!!! Thank goodness for a family member who is a stylist she was able to correct the mistakes in one sitting and cut her hair with as little waste to her length as she could!! How did this win best of? I guess maybe for men but not women. TL;DR: No good, don't go here, its blah its no good. I went in, they were closing early for a fashion show and packed to the gills. I didn't have to wait long which was nice, and the decor and setup looked nice so I felt this would be a solid place to get a women's haircut. The biggest pet peeve was the smocks. Most places give you two: one around the front, one around the back, so you don't get hair/water/etc on your neck/back/front. They had slots for your hands which was interesting, but only one smock that left my back completely exposed. By the end of the cut my neck and back were soaking wet and itchy, it felt like there was hair all over. And the stylist seemed perturbed I was even bothered by it. If its the salon's policy, which I assumed, it wasn't her personal fault. But she acted like I was spoiled for not wanting my back dripping. They kicked a woman out of her seat getting a dye job to seat me. Everything was cramped. When I explained I wanted a trim and no add ons please she seemed to lose all interest. She washed my hair, no scalp massage as you can even get at Ulta which is the same price and not very fancy! She starts cutting my hair/wetting my back and is stone quiet throughout, which was weird. After a few attempts at talking I gave up. She dries my hair about 60%, which is not fully dry. She declares it 'done' and would I like it curled with the chi, included in the price? I said 'umm is that everything?' she'd only focused on my back with a minute on the front of my hair...the sides were basically ignored. And she began combing my hair while still wet, acting like it wasn't. Well my yes was ignored, with my hair still 60% dry, she sent me on my way! After a cut this long the floor is usually covered in hair. She claimed she cut an inch, there was basically a smattering of small hair on the floor...while it resolved the initial problem of my hair being too thick in the back, my hair basically feels uncut...like I could get a haircut next week, when usually a haircut will last me a month or two. It felt rushed, my request to 'is that enough?' was ignored, the request to blow dry my neck after getting wet was treated with disdain. I had really high hopes going in and was very disappointed going out. She didn't butcher me, but did lose my time and money to it all. I won't be going back, and I was really hoping this could be my salon. I usually tip well and tell my friends to go to a good place (including yelp) but this place I was like 'bye' and will not be back. It was very disappointing. read more

The worst! Called to reschedule an appointmment. A day later they called to remind me of my appointment on the day I canceled. I called back and they said I wasn't on the schedule. Rescheduled, they called with a reminder again with the wrong date. I called back, they said I was not on the schedule. It happened a 3rd time. I even talked to the manage and she scheduled an appointment and when I called back I was told I was not on the schedule. To top it off the manager left a message saying I was a no call no show 3 times and would have to put down a $45-$50 deposit for an appointment. INSANE!!! In checking with other people that USE to go there they had the same experience. NEVER go Back! Very over priced! Better salons all over CF. read more

I wanted to spoil myself (which i don't like to do often since i'm frugal) by getting hair and airbrush makeup for my engagement photos and left in tears! my makeup was AWFUL. wasted so much money only for me to rush home and wash it all off and do it myself. thankfully my photographer was understanding with why i was late since i had to redo my entire face. Very Terrible Experience. I was very Disappointed in the owner and stylist Lisa for turning me away after being about 15 minutes late. This is Very Appalling Especially since I have always left a tip for Lisa. In fact on one Occasion around Christmas time I left Lisa A $100.00 tip. This Establishment is Not at all people Oriented! They are way over priced and Know nothing about working with the public. Since this Horrible Experience I found a 10 Times better Establishment and Stylist. From the receptionist talking to us with a big, fat lollipop in her mouth to the overconfident stylist we saw, I can say with confidence that this is the worst haircut experience ever. The stylist did everything opposite from what I asked her to do, even with a photo I provided. Then, when I told her what I didn't like, and called her out on doing quite literally the OPPOSITE of what I asked her to do, got defensive and called her manager to look. Both were totally convinced it was such a "cute" haircut and tried to convince me of the same. End result was being charged for a super crappy haircut that was nothing like I asked for remotely. My advice to anyone considering going to this salon is to spend $10 at Cost Cutters and get a better result. Or go to the hair school instead. I don't want to give this disastrous hair experience even to one star. I went for a trim of 2 inches and the stylist cut 12 inches off. She took the first whack so fast that there was no turning back from getting a stupid bob. I hate my hair..it will take 2 years to grow back what she took from me. I look horrible. This stylist has been doing my hair for years and I don't know what possessed her to scalp me. I am so angry and so sad. I know my hair will eventually grow back but in the mean time I've been damaged. I will not say anything nice about this experience. I asked for my hair to be cut to my armpit. I am in tears right now. The cut it barely to my shoulders. I was spun away from the mirror so couldn't see until it was over, which I thought was incredibly strange. It looks terrible, I feel terrible, I'm absolutely mortified and wish I could hide in my room and cry until it grew back. Totally unacceptable. read more

Worst eyebrow waxing I've ever had!!! My eyebrows are not even CLOSE to being the same!!!!!!!!!!! I went in Saturday morning. The salon had only been open 35-40 minutes. As I was walking up I saw 5 or 6 stylists standing around laughing. None of them made eye contact or acknowledged me. I walked up to the desk and waited a few seconds for the receptionist to make her way over. I was thinking, "Did she not just see me walk through the door?" She didn't say anything right away, just raised her eyebrows, like, what do you want? I asked if there was anyone available to wax my eyebrows. She said yeah; the young lady who waxed my eyebrows came around and led me to the back area. Walking back, I stepped over piles of hair waiting to be cleaned. With all the stylists at the front of the store chatting, you would expect that there would not be a lack of cleanliness. The waxing area was filthy. It looked like the floor had been clean with dirty water and a filthy mop. That is unacceptable, and I imagine it hard for the floor to look so incredibly dirty, so close to opening time. Unless someone overlooked or rushed through their duties. Although the young lady who waxed my eyebrows was nice enough, she smelled like an astray! Which is disgusting, if you are working so close to someone's nose. She asked if I just wanted my eyebrows cleaned up a bit. I said yes, nothing to dramatic or over arched. She tried to make small talk, and complimented me on my eye makeup. The wax was a comfortable temperature. She zipped through the right eyebrow pretty quickly and took much more time on the left. I noticed that she barely tweezed the right eyebrow, but really went to town on the left. As she finished she handed me the mirror asked if there was anything I wanted her to tweak. My eyes immediately went to my left brow, since I could feel that she over tweezed it. I saw that it was a high arch, but before I could get anything out she asked if I wanted her to apply Aloe Vera. I said yes, and she quickly took the mirror away and applied the Aloe Vera. I looked at the time and knew I needed to head home, thinking I could live with a higher arch for a few weeks, until they grew out.I wish I would've taken a second look at my eyebrows. She walked me back up to the front, and thanked me for coming in. As I was paying, someone else gave me a fake smile and thanked me for coming in. I hate fake smiles. I got to my car to head home, and didn't really check my eyebrows again, since I live less than 2 miles away. I got home and my husband asked, why my face looked so different. Thinking I was having an allergic reaction (I have very sensitive skin) I went to the restroom to look at my face. The right eyebrow is nearly a thin straight line with very little arch to it, and the left has a high unnatural arch!!! They look horrible!! They are not even close to being symmetrical They don't even begin or end in the same place. Needless to say, I am very disappointed!! I am used to a thicker more natural brow, and now my eyebrows just look a mess. I will be calling and asking them to correct the problem and try to even them out. I read more

Not worth the cost! Will never get one more penny from me. KJ has been at the Mall for over 30 years and it used to be my go to place! But their quality has really gone downhill. There are a few that do great work but I have noticed many of them have left. There are so many other salons out there that are awesome. I gave it one star for convenience.
