After living in our home for 14 years, it was time for a fresh, clean look…read more We had used Five Star Painting for an exterior project last year and decided to ask for a quote to do our entire interior- walls, ceilings and all of the trim. Our quote was 'good' for a year (and with inflation, this was quite a benefit). We hired them and a Raleigh-based crew arrived by 8:30 each morning. Three men headed by their crew chief, Pastore, went right to work each day, sometimes staying as late as 7pm! They stripped wallpaper in two bathrooms, skim coated the walls, repaired every crack, nail pop or nail hole, applied two to three coats of paint (we chose some deep colors), and completed our entire home in a week! We feel like we are in a brand new home! This crew was awesome. If you choose Five Star, you won't regret your decision!!

The real problem is that while painting my upstairs bathroom they put towelettes into the toilet and clogged it resulting in a overflow through the ceiling into my 1st floor. They were playing the music so loudly they did not hear the toilet water running! Tried to blame it on plumbing, but basically admitted in text messages to putting the towelettes into the toilet! Claim to be GL insured, but refuse to give binder info. Now not showing up to repair the damages. Next step court. (BTW I believe they generate their own reviews on here.) While the work itself was okay and they let me change the paint color after they started. **These are my opinions based on my experience with this contractor**

Told me he was gonna do things that were included and just blew me off because I told him he was expensive, of course this was after I already paid them in full do not hire this guy all his prices are ridiculous I figured at $1100. He should've been there 27 hours. Anthony Rackley came out and surveyed the damage and came back with an appropriately sized tarp and 40' ladder to get to the job site. I really appreciate he specifically used roofing type nails that would secure the tarp to the shingles, but wouldn't leave holes in the roof that would create additional leakage.

She was on her cell phone a lot and only on the first day did she have help with her. The job took 4 days. Part time the first two days, didn't come on Wednesday and stayed 4 hours on Thursday and DID NOT FINISH THE WORK. She never painted the trim around the bedroom windows. And she asked for more money because it took her longer than she planned. The wall painting is fair. I can see brush marks in places. I asked her to patch a hole in a wall, and you can still see the outline of the patch. My husband had to remove the towel bar and repatch and repaint half the wall. She removed the toilet to paint behind it and when it was put back it leaked all over the bathroom floor. She put some of the hardware back in upside down. In the master bath she didn't put all the clips up to hold the mirror back in place, I had paint on my carpet, paint on my garage floor. She used a tupperware container (without asking) to clean her brushes and my husband found her going through his tools looking for a screwdriver. Totally unacceptable. My advice is. If you just need walls painted. No trim, no extra work, just straight up wall painting. Fine, use her. Otherwise. Stay Away!
