I have never been 1 day late in 14 yrs and have paid over $1000/month to be a father but now, at NO FAULT OF MY OWN, I'm 4 months and 2 days behind due to the modified support order being implemented months before amount was even agreed upon. The modified child support amount was NOT agreed upon by both parties until March 27th, 2023 so it is impossible to have owed anything more than the original amount prior to that date. Not one time in any email communications was I notified after the final hearing on Nov. 3, 2022 that the new child support amount was to begin at the start of the New Year 2023. The only communications from my attorney, Michelle Bechtel, after the final hearing concerning child support was that she was working on the modification and asked me on occasions to provide paystubs and tax information. I was also asked about overtime as well. NOT ONE TIME was I told the new child support amount would be implemented retroactively to start on Jan. 1, 2023.
