We just had Kline Brothers complete a major "sinking paver" repair job in my backyard, and I could not be more pleased with the results, and the professionalism of the work team Kline had provided. I work from home so I could observe what was being done over the course of a job that required them to be here from 8 am to 5 pm for four straight days - and I must mention that it was north of 90 degrees each day. Never once did I need to say "what about this or that" - the guys knew exactly what to do and went above and beyond my expectations! Kline pools has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had a large project completed last summer which involved the installation of a mobility exercise device in the pool. Though this went okay for a few months, the maintenance company informed us the device was cracked. We notified Kline and they assured us they would fix this issue in the spring. Well now after trying to get the situation resolved over the past two months, Josh Kline has claimed that someone sat on the exercise device and therefore it isn't covered under warranty. The manufacturer of the exerciser says this isn't possible and it was likely broken during installation by Kline. Also the auto water fill is not working correctly. Kline has completely walked away from the issue and takes no pride in their work. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, as any issue is thoroughly ignored. read more

We just had a major project completed in Harvey Cedars. New beds with trees & plants, block edging, sprinkler system, sod, and lighting. From start to finish, Kline Brothers was exceptional. Josh Kline provided an estimate right on the spot. His crew led by Maggie was phenomenal. The quality of work was terrific and everything was completed in a timely manner. We had a large-scale project in Beach Haven consisting of a new pool, and landscaping for over 1 acre (20 zone irrigation system, sod, lighting, etc.). We contacted all the usual folk Reynolds, David Ash, Brown and Quattrocchi, and Kline. Aside from Josh, we found the others arrogant, expensive, and more focused on charging us a landscape design fee than working on the project. One of the companies miscalculated the square footage cost to apply sod on our lawn by ~$45,000! When I called them out on the miscalculation they had no justifiable response. Josh was the only person to come with plans in hand and a 'can do' attitude. Working w. Josh and his team has been a great experience. If you contract with Kline, ask for Maggie. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY - Installation of Pool and patio. Constant delays. NO ONE gets back to you. Does not matter whether it's a call or email. It is never answered. You need to call about 3 times and send a couple of emails before they get back to you and AGAIN you have to tell them what the problem is. Standard line... "I'll have ______ get back to you." "I'll have _______ go over to the house." None of this happens and if it does, they spend 10 minutes looking and tell you there is nothing wrong with the equipment. They leave and hours later, the problem is still there. There is ZERO customer service. The value is not there. They are expensive and take shortcuts. They will NEVER at least try to accommodate your schedule during off season!!!! I am locked into the pool closing but when they finish it - don't really know when. I will definitely be looking at another company. Already compiling my list. Also, I have asked for the warranty papers for the equipment and was basically told that I did not need them since they had them on file. read more

Unfortunately, will no longer use this company. I originally used GMX till they were bought out by Klein and they put the porcelain tiles around my pool. Came back the second year after a great deal of the coping tiles were not set correctly had to be repaired. They came back that's the only reason I'm giving him two stars. However, I've been a contractor for 35 years and after looking at the tiles I asked for a price to reset just 12 tiles that sunk and the came up with $1000 price! And I was removing the grout and re-grouting. It took me all of 45 minutes to do correctly And I'm 68 years old with a heart condition. Needless to say they use used the the wrong base material under the porcelain tiles. And they use the wrong grout material, the grout material they used was for pavers not porcelain tiles. That's why they have to be reset. I'm seriously considering hiring an attorney and suing them. Unfortunately, they take no pride in there work and I've spent close to $70,000 with work around my house in the last 10 years that they've done between the new owners and GMX. I had an excellent experience with Kline when I needed to rebuild my house after Hurricane Sandy. Josh was a good partner. They did all my pavers and gravel, fencing and gardens. Very disappointed in Kline brother's response to dying and bug infested trees planted along our back patio. They are excellent at making empty promises, not showing up when promised to do so, and not having the common courtesy to call if unable to keep to a scheduled date and time. Shrub died and then when I contacted office I was told my contract doesn't guarantee unless I have irrigation system. (Which it didn't state). Sent them photos and contract. No reply. I have never in my life, have had work done, with such a horrific company. It has been a nightmare to work with them. Starting with John the owner, they are a bunch of liars. they have not kept their word on a single item. i was promised work completed before Memorial Day and here we are the middle of July, and we are not finished. I am supposed to have my daughters graduation party this weekend, which I already moved twice and now have to move again, and I lost my deposit. I have caught their employees sleeping on the job, have had the wrong material delivered 3 times, have been waiting for the correct material for days now and I am in a jam. I had no choice but to fire them and my work is not complete, but i am done with the abuse. I have spent over 6 figures, and this is how they treat their customers. They actually gave the same treatment to my friend, with whom we hired Kline on or about the same time. So, if you are thinking of hiring them, prepare yourself for a lot of heart ache and stress. This is the first time I have ever written a review for anything and I am because I don't want others to go through what I have gone through. The absolute worst! Shorted me on mulch. Delivered a dead tree for install. Ladies in office refuse to have Josh Kline return your calls. I have been trying for several weeks to resolve a 1/2 dead tree installed on my property. My neighbor ( a man) and I ordered same tree same day same price even though neighbor was also having an old tree removed. Josh Kline refuses after many attempts to provide me with a tree comparable to the one my neighbor received. My tree is 1/2 dead and Josh will not return phone calls. I think he has an issue dealing with a woman and would not act this way to a man. STEER CLEAR. Much better options out there these days and we are not limited to Kline being the only service coming to LBI. They have lost a long time customer. Good bye read more

Kline requested our business subcontract under them to install granite for their counter top jobs and we extended our discount rate to them along with our ordering process. In the few months we did business with them, never once was a job completely prepared for our men when they ordered it, which wasted many of our hours, therefore much money. It made no sense to lie to us the job was ready when it was not and indicated a lack of organization. The discount rate extended to them greatly reduced our profit margin but was projected to be adequate with the number of jobs they described. This was not to be as promised and approximately half the jobs templated and estimated never consummated, along with the Kline office cancelling/ignoring payment of final billing and refusals to pay pretending they did not accept a quoted job prices after an install. They have ignored emails, letters and phone calls. Needless to say they are bad news. read more

We contacted kline brothers needing their expertise, we were needing our entire backyard redone with plants and a pavers patio. We were needing this to be done in a timely manner as we're having a large family gathering. The office staff was kind and was able to get someone out that day! The price was great and they were able to start right away. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The crew was very knowledgeable and the owner stopped by frequently to check on progress and make sure we were happy- which we were! They got everything finished and the backyard looks amazing! We hired this company because of a referral from our builder and even though they were a little more expensive we decided to use them . The first part of the job was to demolish our house which went fine and in a timely manner. The 2nd part was to do pavers, stone work in the front of our house and to lay rocks down. We gave them our initial deposit well over 2 months ago and the job is still not finished. The total amount of both jobs was over $30,000 so this job was not a side job and I bet there would of been a lot of contractors who would of treated us better for that amount of money. I meet with the owner of the company John Kline on Friday may 17th and he assured me that the job would be done by the following Friday May 24th. It is now June 20th and they still have not finished . I have stopped in many times and all I get is lip service from the people in the office and from there reaction this must happen often . This is an investment house and we can not show the house until it is completed so Kline brothers is actually costing us money .I would never use this company again and if you are smart stay away from them and use another company that will get the job done on time. Be very careful doing business with this contractor even with a contract. Read all the fine print. Mr. Kline can be very quick and not accurate in noting what you ask for. Even when the contact spelled out the terms to cancel he wanted a high amount as if we had read the terms. My neighbor had damage done to her property which they denied doing and then finally agreed to fix. Would not recommend. read more

I am just so grateful for anyone who does the right thing in this world of disappointments. My story is long so i will summarize; had driveway work done by a fairly well known company in the area, and paid four thousand plus dollars to have it done. I assumed they knew what they were doing, as the boss said he had been doing this work "for 30 years" . The driveway ended up disastrous. The stones i ordered, came in as pebbles , cars were getting stuck in the mess, and there was nothing placed that was a hard undersurface ! I went over to the business , soon after, with my contract and pictures. The business had been taken over by Kline (overnight, it seemed). I spoke to a manager at Kline and she was so incredibly understanding and nice and hooked me up with another manager. His name was Roger. Roger worked so hard to get this job redone correctly, although really, it was not done by his business at all. His company never saw the over $4,000 that i had paid to the other company. Nevertheless, he mobilized his team and they were the most professional , hard working team i have seen in a long time. The work was redone for us, and correctly this time. I cannot offer enough accolades , as i am still overwhelmed that Kline Brothers pulled through and did the right thing by us. Thank you so much, it will never be forgotten, for sure. I can see that i will never use anyone else ever, for landscaping and fences and projects they are capable of performing.
