This cafe was full but we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and efficient. Though my German is not great, the server was patient and we met in the middle as he spoke some English. I had the chicken schnitzel with French fries and crème brûlée for dessert! I enjoyed it and will return if I'm back in Trier!

The schnitzel, while served as two pieces versus one giant piece, was decently (but not perfectly) executed. Crispy, somewhat tender meat (could have been more tender) and a very flavorful sauce with fresh mushrooms. The spätzle was soft and buttery. Almost melted in my mouth. Can't go wrong with a nice Pilsner to wash it all down.

We stuffed ourselves because we didn't want to waste any. I don't speak German, and asked for some help with the menu. Our server was sweet, and read them dishes in English for us. Great food, very good service. They were very nice to our children that were looking for hamburgers ( they do not have hamburgers). The server made suggestions to them and they ate all of it! They had a "sampler" for soups and deserts, what a great way to try new food. With so many people at the table everyone ordered something different and it all looked wonderful. The menu is in German, the server read it to us (a little embarrassing for us) I will have to lean German fast, she spoke very good English. What a lovely place. I will be back often!
