It's super well balanced (not overly sweet) and the phyllo dough was crispy giving it a satisfying crunch and a great counter to the soft gooey cheese goodness. They also have other flavors aside from the original, I tried the pistachio ganache and was amazed at how not over powering the flavor was, again very well balanced. I was fortunate to have tried knafeh from Knafeh Queens at a Yelp Elite Experience. Owner Fatmah is beautiful and so sweet! I had never had this dessert before but couldn't wait to try it. It looks like a little bird's nest, lol! Fatmah plated up my knafeh and topped it with my choice of cookie butter. When I tasted it, I'm pretty sure my eyes rolled back! I looooove cheese so when she told me there's a blend of cheeses baked inside, I was in heaven! It makes for the perfect sweet treat and goes great with a latte! If you're new to Knafeh; it's a Middle Eastern dessert very popular among Palestinians with noddle-like pastry on the top which gives a little crispness, the middle is soaked in a sweet syrup with a sweet cheese in the middle. It's just hard to explain, but it's sooo good and so many good things happen in your mouth when you take your first bite! Also, if you've tried Knafeh before and did not like it, you have to try Knafeh Queens. Her Knafeh is not a super bright orange color and does not taste like rose water (which is something I'm not too fond of.) It's just perfect and all taste buds will enjoy. I don't have much experience with knafeh (only TJ's, which was underwhelming), but when I tried Knafeh Queen's version it was absolutely mind-blowingly delicious.
