Paid way more than we should have for a new liner last summer. Took them forever to complete the job, based on other reviews I guess we're lucky they even did finish the job but it didn't come easily. I don't know how they are still in business honestly. It's now a year later and this was the WORST pool opening we've ever had in 15 years of owning this pool - when in reality it shouldn't have been, given the fact that the liner was brand new last summer and the pool was sparkling clean when it was closed. There is a thick layer of black algae and under it are hard water deposits. (pictures included) We went through a new company this year to open and they assured us the pool was not properly closed (the new company is aware of Knapp Pools as they've had multiple complaints coming from their new clients about them) When they closed our pool last summer they tried telling us that closing doesn't include putting the cover on- it always has in the past. He told us that it only includes chemicals and winterizing the filter. Our pool never received any of the closing chemicals it normally gets when closing so I'm not sure why we paid for closing it at all. To top it off, we were told by the new company that since it was filled with hose water after the new liner it should have been treated for hard water and it never was. There is hard water build up on the brand new liner and it's been over a week and we still can't remove the deposits after various water treatments. There is plenty more that I could add, but if you've read this far it should tell you every reason you should never trust them with your pool care. We ordered a cover for our pool for $1600 last September. We have not received our pool cover nor a refund from Knapp. We have contacted him several times and he keeps making excuses. We plan to pursue this, but from what people are saying, Knapp is not trustworthy. read more

Made an appointment with them to fix my hot tub. They said they would call on a Thursday to firm up the time. By 3:30 pm on Thursday I figured I should call. Talked to a woman who said she was not sure she could get ahold of them. Really? It is 2018 folks. You can get ahold of anybody and everybody who wants to respond. By 5:30 pm I figured it was over with. Did they call me? Nope. Did I get to play golf with my buddies in the morning? Nope. Did I get to go on the pontoon ride with my family in the afternoon? Nope. Former employee. As a costumer he will take your money and run. Do not work for him!!! He will tell you he holds your first two checks. He might pay you once or twice but in the end you will have to go the labor board of michigan like i am currently doing ( as of 11/0702019) he currently has multiple cases open against him. Knapp Pools & Spas should not be in business. It's very unfortunate that people in the Coldwater aeea don't have more choices for these kinds of services. After paying Knapp to service my spa for several years it became more and more obvious that I was paying for nothing and that the employees were Not trained or qualified to do the job. We complained on numerous occasions without any acknowledgment from the owner Les A. and were even told buy his employees that he didn't care about his customers. The final straw came when the spa was leaking and needed repair. After calling several times someone finally came. The leak was discovered only after I pointed them in the right direction. They took my spa apart And left it that way, saying they needed to order parts and that they would return the next week to finish the repair. This was obviously a lie as they never had any intention to come back. After calling five or six times over the next three weeks and being blatantly lied to each time about them returning, I gave up and will Never call them again. Absolutely only taking customers money for as little as possible in return. Stay clear of Knapp Pools and Spas as they will rip you off! read more

THE BIGGEST SCAMMER ON THE PLANET! STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Les the owner, is the biggest LIAR! I signed a contract on 8/29/2018. He promised it would be done by the end of the year. I gave him a $24,720.00 down payment. He took my money and a month went by and nothing had happened. He sent a company to dig the hole for the pool and ruined about 2 acres of my property. I kept calling the owner Les to tell him about the situation and he was saying it will be fine. Les showed up a week later to check the progress and could not believe the mess the excavator made. After that they came to put some concrete in. We told Les the ground was soft and wet. Les said it was fine. Well, the cement truck got stuck next to my pond and damaged about 20 feet of the pond wall. The truck was about to tip over into my pond. Les ignored to fix it. He ignored me until the spring. I told Les that I was having family all over the country over for my Granddaughters 1st year Birthday party. He promised that the pool would be done by July. He has now taken a total of $43,260.00 and of course the pool is not done yet. I kept telling Les the pool was crooked and one corner is higher than the other. The bottom of the pool is not level which will cause the vinyl to rip. The track for the cover is not even close to being straight. The plumbing is all wrong and poorly installed. The heater I was supposed to get in the contract was 250BTU and the one he installed was 200BTU. The filter is leaking sand into my pool. The lights are not installed as well as the wiring. I have more than 2 acres of a mess from them digging my pool. I kept telling Les that the pool was too high and he never listened. The pool is about 10Ft above ground and the concrete is the same level as my house. In the winter it will freeze and have water going inside my house causing damage. The pool has absolutely no support. The jets are not installed. The handrails are loose and fall off every time you touch them. Their vans left massive amounts of oil on my driveway. He ignored that. In the middle while time concert company was pouring. Les lied to them telling them i was supposed to pay for the concrete which was over 30K I knew absolutely nothing about it. The concrete people said that they needed money or they would stop and leave. I ended up paying another 13k which I was not obligated to. So now now I have paid $ 56,260. For The loudest job!!!!!! THE POOL IS FAR FROM DONE. He is ignoring my calls and left me with a big mess. Winter is almost here and I don't even have a cover. I have to pay at least another who knows how much just to have the pool done which Les was supposed to do. I will also have to REDO THE WHOLE POOL BECAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE STRUCTURALLY. This is the worst place that I have ever dealt with. I would probably buy a spa from a guy in a parking lot before I would go back here. Lied to, repeatedly. Had to pay an electrician to complete the job because their installer messed it up and blame the wire in house. No customer service at all. Keep bugging them because they don't call back. Almost a 12 week for delivery for the smallest spa they sell. I felt like there was no respect for me as a customer. Will not even go there to buy my chemicals. Buyer Beware! Les, the owner of Knapp Pools & Spas, goes by the name of 'lying worthless' in our home. Hired him to install a huge in-ground pool with the works, and it was an absolute nightmare. He will say one thing (what you want to hear) and will never follow through, lies all the time. Have good lawyer on hand if you want to use him. As time went on, we learned that just about everything that they finally did (after threats to sue) was installed wrong and/or was bait and switch. We paid for all sort of things that he 'upgraded' us on, only to find out it was used or the wrong product/size for our pool. He is clearly in the red on the books. Nobody has anything good to say about the way he does business (small town and people talk). He has customers set up their own contractors now BECAUSE contractors will not work with him anymore because he won't pay them. I write very few reviews online, ever, and I write this only to save someone else from such a terrible experience. Run, run, run.... there are many other and much better pool installers and suppliers. read more
