I texted Akeem a week prior to the appointment and it was easy to coordinate. Fascia Focus is located on Wilton Manor Drive in the executive suites building across from Wilton Creamery. When you walk into the business, Akeem's energy is just as other clients describe - warm, tender, intentional and validates that you're in for something special. The space itself is cooler than the photos show - every detail about your experience is well thought out. Now, the massage. The scalp massage is unmatched and I probably could have a whole session of just that. I advised them that I did not want to get my hair wet and asked if it would be okay to skip that portion of the treatment. They said ok. We had to wait quite a while and were told that the gentleman had gone to the restroom and was taking a long time. We never saw this mystery client, which made me think something fishy was going on. We were taken to a room that looked nothing like the photos. No cool neon lighting or anything and I thought it must be because I didn't want the head spa. There appeared to be some plumbing running along the walls and connecting to the treatment tables that had then been fashioned with wooden planks to cover them. Careful or you might trip. The tables that we were treated on had sinks attached and a cover was placed over it for our heads. I spent the majority of my treatment face down in a wash basin that smelled like a mildewy drain. I was mortified but didn't know what to do. I held my breath, which made me stiffen, which caused the masseuse to dig deeper. It was terrible. She climbed on my back and walked on it. She also used her knees and the full weight of her body on my back. I'm strong, but I'm not that strong. The funniest part is how smiley she was after the massage.
