Some tombstones located on the church ground date back to the 18th century. There are masses and prayer services every day for those who wish to partake. On Sunday the is a 9:00 high mass complete with incense and chiming bells. A less formal experience can be found at the 11:15 family mass. Father Paul Blanch is the rector of the church and unlike the rest of the Diocese, St. George's goes out of its way to include members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. All the information you need can be found on St. George's website. There is an eclectic mix of parisoners which makes St. George's a unique and very special place.

The building itself is fascinating, as it was originally constructed in the 1700s, and is situated in Schenectady's historic Stockade district. It's an active church, with many opportunities for fellowship, fun, and ways to help the community. Definitely not a situation where you finish the last hymn and flee for the exits! People fall in love with St. George's because of its beauty and history, and then they stick around for the learning, the dedication to service, and the sense of belonging. It's truly a gem and a respite from the stress and negativity of today's world.

Famous shrine dedicated to the memory and life of Saint Kateri Tegawitha (Phonetically pronounced…read morein the Mohawk language: "Gahd-DER-ree Day-Ga-WEEE-dah"). The site has been in existence since 1938, and is elevated to the status of a National Shrine, erected on the site of the exact village (Caughnawaga) where St Kateri lived most of her life. It was also the place of her baptism. You will also find an excellent museum that is full of rare artifacts and exhibits that are staggering in their quality of research accuracy and sheer volume of archeological originality. Everything is maintained by a small dedicated team of volunteers under the care of the Franciscan Friars. There is no question that this place is one of healing and peace. So if you are seeking either or both, you should consider coming here first and visit or pilgrimage. A conservative baptist church that emphasizes the bible. The Pastor is Richard Klueg who lives in Northville. He and his wife Barb have been there for many years. He is a gifted teacher and probably could have made it as a professor if he had chosen to move in that direction. He has skills in scholarship as well as in working in Koine greek and hebrew. This is a church that has far reaching affects on its community and seems to do a great deal of good.
