The sent me a broken knife. They made me pay to return it even though it was not my fault. It was theirs or their distributors. They said that if the replacement was defective I would have to pay to return it too. I said cancel the order then. They then only gave me a partial refund. I ended up paying $16.50 for shipping both way for no knife---only a fowl taste in my mouth for dealing with them. Buy from them at your own risk. This place is confusing. Very good prices and the only place to get Doug Ritter knives, which are both great things. My first order from them was in August of 2024. I have now placed four orders totaling $1227.01. Two of the orders shipped the same day or the next day, which was wonderful. One order took 4 days to ship, which makes no sense to me when you order an in stock item. The last order was all messed up. Ordered on 4/16. Did not get a shipping notice over the next couple of days. I log in and it says they are in engraving, only I did not have anything engraved. I emailed. Then I get a shipping notification with USPS tracking.....only the tracking number is no good. No clue if I will actually get what I ordered or not. Too many issues, quick shipping half the time, definitely the last dime they get from me. I would rather pay more and get communication and consistency. read more

I ordered a Sebenza from your site and was sent an email requesting photo verification which I promptly did. After that, when requested to inspect that the knife isn't a customer return, I got no response. Then asked for shipping details and got no response. Then asked for an update and still no response. Finally got fed up with the lack of communication and sent an email asking for a cancellation. Still no response. Sent numerous emails requesting the cancellation and refund and still nothing. If this is not rectified immediately, I will have to resort to getting my money back through a chargeback through the bank which is wild. This has been the worst customer experience and I am stunned that people get ignored this way after taking hundreds of dollars from them. Again, just cancel and refund my money. Bought my dad a new pocket knife as a present. (For his years of service.) When I gave it to him he said he liked it. (Of course he said he liked it.) Knifeworks is a very well established online cutlery retailer. They carry an enormous selection of knives. I had a hard time picking out a knife for Dad. So, I ended up buying two different knives and giving him a choice. He chose one and I kept the other one for myself. (Bonus.) Their prices are very good and the shipping is quick. I routinely buy Byrd Hawkbills from Knifeworks, who personalize them with my company's logo. As most everyone who works on a film crew carries a good knife, they make great gifts to clients. But after giving away my personal Hawkbill last week, I wanted to order something a little different to keep for myself. After looking around, I decided to get a Spyderco Lil Matriarch. The problem was that the shape and size of the blade didn't really make the Spyderco an ideal candidate for laser engraving. But Megan at Knifeworks worked with me personally to make suggestions, and even took time out of her day to mock up some proofs, which she emailed to me within an hour for my approval. And after placing my order, Megan made sure my order was completed and shipped the same day. There was absolutely no rush on the order, but I certainly appreciate them for doing it. I purchased a Knifeworks exclusive Benchmade 710-1401 from them on Oct 2nd. The knife arrived on Oct 6th. The knife they shipped me was not packaged according to the manufacturers specifications. The blade stop pin had signs of wear. There were some fairly deep scratches that went from the secondary bevel to the spine as well as a deep gouge near the thumb stud. So I called them to do an exchange on the knife and Roger the owner get pissed that I want him to exchange the clearly used and returned knife he sold me as new for an actual new knife. Roger then tells me that the knife couldn't possibly be a return because he had just received the knife from Benchmade on the friday before and that the reason it wasn't packaged properly was because they took the knife out to inspect it before it shipped. The only problem is they shipped the knife on thursday. Clearly he was lying about it. The policy at Knifeworks is that if they made a mistake they will pay for return shipping. Roger on the other hand refused to pay for the return shipping so I had to contact Benchmade. Benchmade asked me to send them some photos of the damage and after having seen the damage decided to email me a return shipping label and escalate the complaint to the regional sales manager to review Knifeworks status as an authorized dealer. At this point everything should be just fine right? Wrong. I shipped the knife back to them on Oct 7th and they signed for it on Oct 10th. On Oct 17th I called them to find out why I haven't received my refund yet. They hung up on me. Since I had to get to work I didn't get another chance to call them again during business hours until Oct 21st. They hung up on me again. Now 12 days after they received the knife back I've filed a fraud dispute with my bank to get my money back. read more

The below statement is untrue. I ordered 4 items, two identical, two identical with engravings the only difference.. the first order (made on the 23rd of Dec) never actually shipped.. the second once I called (and I payed 3rd day shipping the first time) has still not arrived as of today 1/6/2014... Basically, I ordered twice and it has been over 15 days and not a single item received.. and when I called the third time requesting that I get a shipping refund at least, the girl I spoke to was VERY RUDE!! "I caynt heyulp what UPS does sir..." My problem was with UPS and their failure to deliver within the time frame. I chose the 3 Day Select Shipping for $14.95. And I will also add that it isn't just about the money but the principle. I talked to UPS on two different occassions and got the run around. It would have been better for them to tell me to just kiss their ass instead. I contacted Knifeworks and spoke with a customer service rep and the owner of the company. They were both very helpful and said that I would get my shipping costs back even if Knifeworks had to pay it out of their pocket even though this wasn't their fault.
