Sent incorrect information to a facility that I had to work with my insurance agency to get because Freeport Medical Center refused to help me with a referral. They sent the wrong phone number to the facility to contact me, which created a major issue and inconvenience. Unapologetic, insincere. Refused to transfer my medical records due to a balance on my account, which is ILLEGAL. I had to threaten legal action before the office woman would agree to send my records along and then she told me I was being put into collections. If i could give zero stars I would. I once stood at the front desk for 25 minutes without anyone checking me in, no bell, no sign, then when I did call out for someone because it was past the time of my appointment the woman was agitated and I was made to wait an additional 15 minutes. The nurse was very aggressive when checking my blood pressure and put the cuff on way too tight and I let her know it hurt and she laughed. I was sent for blood work and the results were never discussed at my next appointment until the appointment was over and I asked about them. This place is rude and completely unprofessional and unethical.

After that first week and having lost 6 pounds, I told Marcelle, " You've got to go national with this. Everyone with a weight problem needs to know about it!!!" I stayed loyal to the program and lost my 30 pounds before the end of September and have kept it off since then. I had no hunger or craving issues; I had all kinds of energy, playing pickleball 3-4 times a week, going to the gym 3 times each week, and walking 3 miles 3 times a week - not because I had to, but because I wanted to. I felt that great and wanted to remain strong and toned! I would highly recommend this program to everyone who has played the dieting yo-yo game...no more games, this is the REAL way to lose weight forever and live life happily and healthily!

Subsequently, I encountered several issues. Communication was inconsistent, including missed Zoom appointments, failure to provide access to advertised online resources, and infrequent, unclear communication regarding the program's strategy. While Marcelle demonstrated expertise and I did observe some positive outcomes, I found the communication and interpersonal style to be less than satisfactory, echoing concerns expressed by other clients. Furthermore, the website's claim of insurance acceptance is misleading, as insurance is not processed. Cathy, the office assistant, was a consistently positive presence, offering exceptional communication and support, which I greatly appreciated. Exactly 50% of the way through the program, I submitted a formal written request to withdraw and requested the 50% refund for the unused remainder of the program (a SUBSTANTIAL financial investment). While a partial refund was provided, it did not align with the full 50% I requested.

I have been a patient at Intermed for nearly three years and truly love Dr. Coleman, which makes…read morethis review difficult to write. She is an exceptional physician and none of what follows reflects on her. The issue is entirely structural. Over the past year, Intermed has implemented scheduling requirements that make it nearly impossible to access routine care. Getting an appointment requires multiple calls, repeating your full medical history to different staff members each time just to be "approved," and even then telehealth is rarely an option regardless of how recently you were seen. Callbacks are inconsistent at best. As someone managing chronic health conditions, this is not workable. I understand physicians are given tight 15-minute windows and that this is out of physicians' control. But simple visits like medication management or a brief touchbase to relay specialist updates should not require weeks of effort just to get on the schedule. The friction rivals that of a specialist office, which is not what you expect from a primary care practice. Intermed is likely a fine fit for patients who need one annual physical and nothing more. For anyone requiring more frequent or complex primary care, I'd encourage you to weigh that carefully. It's a shame, because the quality of the physicians themselves doesn't match the experience the system creates around them. I will be transferring my care after months of trying to navigate their new system.
