So down to earth, the staff is amazing. It's just a really cool place to not only enjoy mother nature in a beautiful park setting, but also feel her between your fingers in mudd at a pottery wheel. How much closer to Earth and primitive life can you get than throwing your own pots. Not only do they have wonderful classes to offer they do some really cool community events and kids activities. She decided to paint a vase for her Mom and a small leaf plate for her Dad. There was really nothing she wanted for herself. Like I mentioned the selection was terrible. Secondly, we were left upstairs by ourselves while the only employee was working in the basement. She was very sweet and pleasant but how many times can you ring the bell and have her run up the steps? We struggled with a few of the small bottles of paint and they were out of brown paint. We got most everything on our own. Not sure the reason we needed to leave a tip?!! Last time here I was even more disappointed as I was with a group of ladies. We did ceramic trays in the basement. We had to get up and search for the employee to get more tiles, glue and paper towels. We all spent $45 or $50 (I forget exactly) and we were sent home with un-finished trays. We were given powder to mix the grout at home. The instructions were pathetic. I ended up purchasing ready made grout from an art supply store to finish my project. I would NEVER recommend doing a big mosaic project here. It was not what I expected and I felt ripped off with my time and money. Two times in a row I left feeling frustrated. We love coming here but the place seems a bit neglected.

Other than just crafts, they usually have a deal on candles and they usually run 3 for $10 which is a pretty good deal! You can also purchase bubbles and toys for your kids and have isles and isles of picture frames, yarn for the knitters and crochet tools. I also like to come here and get things for baking, like chocolate melts for party favors, molds and fondant mixes. This store literally has everything you need for any type of craft and hobby you could think of. Another pretty cool thing about this store is the weekly coupons they have in the paper or online. The coupon is sometimes for 40% off one item, that's not on sale or clearance and could be useful when you need it! They have bathrooms for customers and when it comes to customer service, they are very helpful and usually very friendly.

Ask to see their upstairs storage room where a lot of heir inventory is stored in a more warehouse like environment, but there is a lot to see there. We have houses in Scottsdale and San Diego, and every summer we come to NJ we go there and find something and they ship our items for us (a bit high shipping costs, but always packed well and nothing has every broken).

He's an old hippie who lived and worked as a teacher in California most of his life and then ended up moving to New Hope and buying a place for a song which he fixed up. He lives over the shop which helps keep his overhead down in a town where rent can be a killer and really drive up the price of the merchandise. Joel has a wild mix of old and new. He's got a full array of vintage mugs from different time periods, along with many awesome selections of hand made, one of a kind pottery mugs and bowls. He also has other interesting kitchen kitsch and a hodgepodge of artsy brickabrack and art. Very cool place. Recommended.

We got to pick from the opaque traditional wax or a clear liquid and from several types of glassware to put the candles in. You can make an aquarium with sand and little fish and shells inside which was neat and you pick your own scent or even mix up a couple and invent your own scent. The cost was pretty high at $35 and $40 but it was a fun experience. I think it would be neat if they started a "bring your own" glass jar program at a lower cost because we have so many empty candle containers and glasses at home it would be nice to be able to recycle them! Also, I somehow managed to get red dye allll over my clothes so I recommend wearing clothes you don't care too much about! I do wish they had had aprons available for open studio. And check the hours ahead of time before going in because sometimes they close early if there's a class scheduled.
