I played in an outing at this course yesterday and we had a blast. I've probably played here about 12 times over the past 10 years and I've always had fun. Probably had so much fun because every time I've played here it's been an outing where I probably indulged in one or two adult beverages. The outing yesterday was for a friend's church and they do it RIGHT for this event...full brunch buffet-not too over the top, but much more than continental...and a fully catered buffet dinner and open bar. The dining staff is phenomenal and the food, well the food was delicious and plentiful. Thy raise a LOT of money for the church at this event. As for the course, it was in excellent shape after two full days of rain with very limited standing water. Since it had rained for two days, the greens were pretty slow, but that was expected anyway, but overall the course was in great condition. Unfortunately, the course lost a number of trees during Hurricane Sandy, but other than taking away some nice scenery it didn't seem to affect play. Amazingly, our foursome didn't lose a ball all day...especially since the beer on the course was covered by our entry fees-we got our money's worth. In August 2009 Golf Digest Magazine gave the Knoll West the #1 municipal course rating in the state of New Jersey!!!! The course is pretty old (established in 1929) and a fairly short par 70 playing only about 6475 from the whites and 6,752 yards from the blues tees. The website says that the course is virtually unchanged since its opening other than a couple of minor renovations. The course is also semi-private with a very affordable fees, but I think they still have a waiting list. There's also a sister course here (Knoll East), but it's a bit of a hard hat course-very cheap, short, and tough to get a tee time, but not a bad place to just work on your game. Overall, a great day with friends, even if I didn't play particularly well. It isn't my favorite course, but it's up there-especially for an outing.

I got married here a few weeks ago, and they did a very nice job. The location is beautiful, the food was fantastic (they blew us away with their cocktail hour, main courses, and especially the Parisian dessert room), and the staff is very accommodating. The only negative part of the venue is that their bridal suite is tiny. We had a very large bridal party and could only fit about 4-5 people in the suite comfortably, but we knew this going into it and we were prepared for it, so we just planned on not spending any time in that room. I had 2 little issues with the place, which is why I can't give them 5 stars, but I would still definitely recommend getting married there. First, they wouldn't let us rehearse there until the day of the wedding, and by the time they were ready to rehearse some of our guests had already arrived and were in the waiting room, so they took the bridal party to the ceremony area but said I couldn't come because guests might see me. I gave them the order of the bridal party, but they ended up switching it around and didn't have the bridal party walk down in the order I gave them. The only other problem was that we paid for top shelf open bar. My friend asked me what I wanted to drink and I told them Grey Goose and Soda. My friend came back from the bar and said, sorry they said they don't have Grey Goose. When I went up to the bartender and asked why they didn't have it she quickly replied "Oh I can get it if you really want it. It's just in the back." I looked around and they only had Titos and other Call brands out. They didn't have any top shelf brands showing and apparently were telling people they didn't have it when they were asking for it. This was extremely disappointing to me. Other than those two issues, the night went very smoothly and we got a lot of compliments on a great wedding!

18th hole. Extremely difficult. Wide open tee shot, but at 440 yards, definitely a long approach coming to elevated green.

Food & service was decent. Mainly went to see the band Street Hassle. Had drinks. Table water tasted like it came from a pool.

In the beginning planning stages, Jackie and Tim were so great about accommodating our crazy schedules and answering our many questions. They were so patient and very helpful in providing suggestions and feedback when we needed it. They allowed us to "drop by" at all hours so we could plan for each of our vendors and even set up the ballroom one day with all the tables so we could really visualize how the room would look. The day of the wedding was more than we ever could have imagined. It really exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was absolutely spectacular. Tim and the chef really went above and beyond to ensure our menu was exactly what we wanted and each dish was impeccable. We had guests commenting on how it was the best "wedding food" they have ever had and felt like they had a meal from a 5-star restaurant! The service was more than we would have ever imagined. Each staff member was very professional and helpful in making sure our guests were very well taken care of. We had a guest mention that his glass wasn't empty all night because his waitress was on top of making sure he was so well cared for! The bar staff was amazing - they were engaging and professional and really had hustle to make sure our guests didn't have to wait around for a cocktail. It was most appreciated! The appetizer stations were set up so beautifully as was the dessert display ! My husband was totally blown away with the dessert feast, it was incredible. They were able to adjust our flowers from different areas to accent the tables and did it so discreetly I had NO idea it even happened until I walked in the dessert room! We had an ice cream bar as well and the service was amazing - it was a great feature to the dessert area. Tim and Katherine were so detailed oriented and made sure everything ran flawlessly from start to finish. The newly renovated club is absolutely stunning!! Its so elegant and modern - very light and bright. The outdoor terrace bar is spectacular - it's huge and unlike anything I've ever seen before. Its so well crafted and has details that are a real standout. Katherine really took care of every little element that I hadn't even thought of - the smallest touches made the biggest difference! The staff put together a really cute candy bar display. I was out on the golf course taking photos and a staff member stuck by my side to make sure I was well hydrated and didn't need anything, food, water, etc. She was able to grab my husband a beer to keep him going through photos! It was a really nice touch! Bottom line - MCGC exceeded ALL my expectations in everyday. The staff really went above and beyond for us and our guests. I would absolutely do another event here.

There is a mixture of holes throughout the course. Some tee shots you hit downhill and some are uphill. Most of the greens are smaller than your average size green so make sure you are hitting your irons straight. The 18th hole is one of the most beautiful finishing holes I have played. I look forward to returning to MRGC one day.

Reserved an hour with Mike Mrugal, one of two golf pro instructors at this driving range. On the day of the lesson, I was running behind schedule and Mike was very accommodating to adjust his schedule, so I could get the full 60 minutes of instruction time. He was knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to my feedback. Provided some very simple and actionable tips that I could do on and off the golf course. It helped reinforce the good movements of my swing and build muscle memory. I definitely plan on going back to Mike after the season is over for some more tips to work on during the winter at the driving range. As for the location, it's a two-level driving range with different size of range ball buckets you can purchase (inside) for the ball machine (outside) reads the QR code on the receipt. The shop has the basics, in the event you forgot to bring something with you to the range. The lessons are taught in an enclosed shack that has a hitting mat and tv monitor for the instructor to provide instant feedback on your swing...nothing high-tech, but it is sufficient to visualize & communicate what you are doing right or wrong. Definitely I'll be visiting this place more often!!

I normally go to a certain range not too far from this location but the Toptracer digital flight tracking machines had peaked my interest. While my main focus is on ball striking, I wanted to go the extra mile and utilize Toptracer to get an idea of distance gaping my woods/irons. THE EXPERIENCE Things may have changed from some previous reviews but the golf mats were perfectly fine. There weren't any glaring wear issues and I've definitely seen worse. The golf balls were fine and still had dimples left so no complaints on that end as well. The real interest and determining factor of my experience was TopTracer Technology. With the help of the digital flight tracking machines that were installed in every stall, I was able to get some raw data that helped me distance gap my clubs. Keep in mind that all the data is relative to the conditions (especially cold conditions) but I was able to get the answers I was looking for. Toptracer is able to tell you carry, total distance, launch angle, and other useful information to help optimize your clubs. I personally used the data to see how I hit my multiple drivers and find which one I hit best. It was mission accomplished. Of note, there is a small practice green with some chipping mats surrounding it. There are maybe two holes that you can use for putting and the rest are mostly for chipping targets. OTHER INFO -In addition to golf, they have pickleball courts/mini golf/paintball/turfed field and other offerings to keep you interested -The cost was marginally higher compared to your typical range but in my opinion worth it. The small bucket cost 12 dollars here compared to 10 dollars to a normal one without the digital flight tracking. FINAL THOUGHTS While Anchor Golf is a little farther from the driving range I used to use, it's well worth it for the experience to see your raw data. I would recommend giving this place a try!
