Went here for a kids birthday party. Be warned it's a pretty far walk from the entrance to the paintball area. You have to walk through the driving range . The staff of young kids were helpful and friendly. Kids enjoyed themselves. It is outdoors and when we went on a sunny humid day - it was not comfortable (for everyone as the kids were sweating in their protective gear). It does seem outdated (the golf area). read more

This review will be focused on the driving range section but I will say that I appreciate that they have a multitude of different activities you can do depending on your interests. I normally go to a certain range not too far from this location but the Toptracer digital flight tracking machines had peaked my interest. While my main focus is on ball striking, I wanted to go the extra mile and utilize Toptracer to get an idea of distance gaping my woods/irons. THE EXPERIENCE Things may have changed from some previous reviews but the golf mats were perfectly fine. There weren't any glaring wear issues and I've definitely seen worse. The golf balls were fine and still had dimples left so no complaints on that end as well. The real interest and determining factor of my experience was TopTracer Technology. With the help of the digital flight tracking machines that were installed in every stall, I was able to get some raw data that helped me distance gap my clubs. Keep in mind that all the data is relative to the conditions (especially cold conditions) but I was able to get the answers I was looking for. Toptracer is able to tell you carry, total distance, launch angle, and other useful information to help optimize your clubs. I personally used the data to see how I hit my multiple drivers and find which one I hit best. It was mission accomplished. Of note, there is a small practice green with some chipping mats surrounding it. There are maybe two holes that you can use for putting and the rest are mostly for chipping targets. OTHER INFO -In addition to golf, they have pickleball courts/mini golf/paintball/turfed field and other offerings to keep you interested -The cost was marginally higher compared to your typical range but in my opinion worth it. The small bucket cost 12 dollars here compared to 10 dollars to a normal one without the digital flight tracking. FINAL THOUGHTS While Anchor Golf is a little farther from the driving range I used to use, it's well worth it for the experience to see your raw data. Only tried the driving range. Standard range with 2 levels. Reasonably priced balls. They also have digital flight trackers at each stall.

So I went to the paint balling area and not the golfing part. This place is flexible which is great, but it's price doesn't match the quality of the equipment. We had to wait 45 minutes past our start time because they did not have the guns ready and loaded for us. When we received the guns, they did not work well. I can't upload videos to yelp, but I do have one that shows it not shooting at all and when it does "shoot" it's just 3 balls falling out of the barrel because the pressure doesn't work. At point blank range, none of the balls burst (so you can imagine how it didn't work from a distance). It definitely dampens the adrenaline rush when you can't play. The staff were kind and took our concerns in stride, but we were told nothing could be done to fix our guns. This place charges the same as other paint balling places in the area but their service isn't at their level. read more

Reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned coming here. After visiting, I was quite pleased with the driving range. Maybe it was because I came around 8pm on a weekday, but the balls were pretty clean and the top tracer system was really nice. Balls as reasonable priced and I had no complaints! read more

This review is for mini golf course only - it was recently renovated but the course is BORING. There was nothing interesting or fun about this course. The last four holes were a straight line, pretty much no challenge at all - no water features, obstacles, etc. They didn't even provide a par for each hole. Lazily designed. I've only been here for mini golf, came here since I was 7 for my birthday and this is still one of my favorite mini golf courses. People are really kind here and laid back, it's just one of those environments where everyone is really happy to be with people. The place is kept really nice and clean too. Mini golf is one of the few activities I can do with my dad nowadays so it means a lot when people try to help him out and are in good spirits with him! Had a work outing last month and we all really enjoyed ourselves. A few emails back and forth with Colleen to make the arrangements at the golf range. We had great weather on the date we went. Whenever we needed something someone was around. I think we used 6 stalls and it all worked out nicely. My only complaint is that their benches need to be upgraded, they are old and beated up and its time. Everyone had fun and I think this may turn into a yearly outing. read more

If I could give this mini golf course 0 Stars I would. Went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was easily clear to see why the place was empty. The turf was torn up, had holes, bumps and was mismatched. For some holes new turf was put over old turf. The holes weren't numbered. There was garbage all around the course as well as in the holes. Took my family here for my daughter's birthday 8/05/2022. My review is for mini-golf ONLY, as we didn't do any of the other activities...What a dump!!! Out of 18 holes, only three had any "features" that make mini golf fun. The rest were just straight, boring holes. No challenges at all, unless you count all of the places where the turf was ripped and unplayable. Plus, it was outrageously priced. Four of us golfed for $41. Highway robbery. Minigolf and driving range are the big things up front, although apparently they have some pitch & putt, batting cages at the end. No beer here, but they do have burgers. Event space available to reserve. Minigolf course is chipped and a little better signage would help people figure out where to go. Instead of 18 holes, they should have done a smaller course and aimed for a better variety - we felt like many of the holes were repeats and very few were challenging. They did let us play to finish, though, well after the 9pm close time as they saw we were enjoying ourselves. Watch for the mosquitoes, though. Driving range has some pop-up targets and buy a bucket of balls to practice. Some local pros around to help with lessons if you're interested, but schedule these ahead of time and you'll have better scheduling and attention. read more

Recently we have visited a few Mini Golf places in Northern New Jersey. I saw that Anchor had great reviews and that there was a Groupon available for it. The Groupon includes 2 ($21) or 4 ($42) rounds of golf, which you can choose to bring 2 or 4 people for 1 round, or go by yourself and play 2 or 4 rounds by yourself. You also get batting tokens and pizza for the appropriate amount of "rounds" (2 or 4). We arrived at around 2:30 PM on a nice Saturday. The center is located conveniently off the main road and has lots of parking in the lot. All staff we encountered were very nice but didn't seem too familiar with Groupon. Everyone was helpful and patient, nonetheless. They honored everything without any issues. The mini golf course is clean and very well kept. The difficulty is on the easier side, but also challenging enough to be fun for kids, which I appreciated. There were a few people on the course but everyone moved quickly throughout the course, due to the easier difficulty. There is also a golf range which looked pretty well organized. We did the bating cages (as included with the Groupon). The cages worked fine with adjustable pitch height. There is also a small pizza place there which was also included in the Groupon. The shop is a nice addition to the center. IT was clean with a bunch of small tables. The pizza itself was surprisingly good, as I was expecting "movie theater" pizza. Again, the staff there was helpful and nice. Overall it was a great experience, even at full price. The Groupon deal makes it really hard to pass up on a nice day. I can easily see a family or group of friends spending an afternoon of sports and pizza here. read more

I tried the practice range today, attracted by the TopTracer feature, which is the only thing that allowed me to feel comfortable giving this dump even one star. I've been to many practice ranges over the years and have never been to one that was so run down. At least 80% of the balls had severe issues (e.g., any combination of old, cut, scraped, mud-stained or frayed ball covers). Forget about getting any useable data about shot distance. With these balls, it's almost like hitting a hacky sack. The hitting mats were in equally sad shape with heavily worn areas where most people typically like to set the ball. You have to make do with finding a space with matting left on it. Just be prepared that it may not be in an optimal position for your swing. Lastly, the hitting field is a puzzle. If you try to select a target on the TopTracer screen, they don't match up with the targets on the field (except for the 150 yd marker). When you select a "target", it can be somewhere in the field that has no marker at all! It's very strange...and frustrating. read more

I went for use of the Range and I'm being generous by giving 2 stars because they have Toptracer which is awesome, but that's where it ends. With golf gaining popularity due to the pandemic and new players flooding the industry now would be the time for the owners to make some improvements at this range to attract these new customers. Their Range Balls and matts are well beyond the end of their lifecycle and are in desperate need of replacement. My drives usually soar at a different range which I know has better balls, and decent matts, but at Anchor I can say with confidence I'm easily losing 10-15% of carry on my Drives due to this factor. If you look at the Toptracer leaderboards for this range it's evident a majority of the players that use this facility are having the similar issues, those drives on the leaderboards should be much further than what they're showing for many of the golfers who use the facility. I was also shocked to see range matts with such deep divots. The prices are on the higher side, but it would be justifiable if they made these simple improvements especially when you factor in the availability of Toptracer, there's currently only 2 ranges in North Jersey with this technology. But the fact of the matter is there's no point in coming back and paying extra for the Toptracer if you're going to get inaccurate data due to poor upkeep of the facility. read more

When I was playing golf a LOT (pre-knee issues) I used to hate going to the range...I was always more of a just go play and work out your issues there type of guy. But that doesn't work and going to the driving range really is where you need to work out the kinks of your game. When I finally made that revelation, Anchor Golf Center was the go-to place for me. Now, admittedly I don't go there enough and my game has suffered, but this spring, as I try to get my son into the game, we will be spending a lot of time here. They also offer a mini-golf course here which is always fun for the family even if they DON'T play golf. Both the mini-golf course and the range are kept in good shape. In particular, the mats at the range are always in great shape and they have multiple tees so you can tee it high or low. For me, this place is also very convenient and I'm hoping to finally use the par 3 course this year to see if I can convince my son to start playing a bit. In a nutshell, this place has the amenities and friendly staff to keep me coming back for the foreseeable future. read more

We booked a Gel Blaster game for my son's bday. It was fun! The staff was great, the referee was awesome, he helped the kids with the blaster and was ready to refill the pellets and give direction. The field was artificial turf, it worked out bc it rained the day before. It had barrels as obstacles. The blaster were in good shape, no issues. Will definably come back to book another game. Meh - went on a July weekday during COVID lock down with 2 kids to play mini golf. Mediocre overall. Turf is torn on several holes making accurate putting impossible. The lip of several cups is askew making getting the ball into the hole tough or impossible. There's trash strewn around the course area. You're basically playing mini golf next to a vacant lot with a view of Route 10. We will try other "courses" before returning. $32 for a family of 4 felt kinda steep given the negatives. read more

My boyfriend and I visited here after lunch at Fuddruckers one Sunday afternoon. The staff member that helped us was very knowledgeable and friendly. The facility was very nice and I like how the golf balls are dispensed from a machine. You just put your ticket number in from the amount that you purchased at the front and it dispenses that amount. There were plenty of stalls even though it was a packed day. They also had uncovered stalls above the covered ones but it was super humid that day so most stayed covered. I also happened to notice a lot of kids coming from their paintball field. They have a putting green as well and a short game practice green but one of the staff members said that it might be muddy since it had just rained and it tends to flood. I liked that each stall had a golf ball server so it was much easier to get a golf ball especially if you're not hitting off of a tee. read more

If you are looking for golf lessons for kids, this is a great place! My kids are 5 and 7 and have had a great experience with several instructors. They make it fun for them, which is the most important thing in my book. They are also very flexible, doing lessons with one or both children at any time and frequency, which is great. The mini golf is also a fun time. If one of my children doesn't have a lesson while the other one does, we play the mini golf range and it is pretty fun and very affordable. Came here on a Sunday for the batting cages and we had a great time. The place was low on staff at the time, but they were very helpful when they were with us. It was our first time there and the staff took their time to adjust the machine to our preference. What a gem. The new management is doing a great job. This place always had great potential but always fell short...until now. Fantastic location with brand new everything. New mats, new balls, new putting green, new pitch and putt. The staff is super friendly and always eager for feedback. The teaching pros are some of the best you'll find. We were looking for something to do on Saturday and found this place on Groupon. The groupon was for a round of mini golf for two people so we figured we would try it out. I have to say this is one of the nicer mini golf courses around. I think they recently redid this one, but regardless its nice, clean and looks new. On one of the holes there's a photo op with a fake instagram post that you pose in which I thought was cute. The holes were not too easy but also not impossible, there were families with young kids and they were doing better than I was. After we finished mini golf we decided to get a small bucket of gold balls and try out the range. The people here were very friendly and helpful ( we had no idea what we were doing). In my opinion, its a nice area to spend the afternoon with the family or even with friends. read more

In terms of practice ranges, this is about as good as it gets within 10-15 miles of Caldwell. The only facility Anchor does not offer, as far as I'm aware of, is a chipping area. But they do have a par three course which could be used for short game practice. What I like: their mats are in great shape and are on level practice areas, balls have always been in great condition, automatic ball feeds with varying tee heights controllable by a push button (very useful), and their prices are better than the nearby competition. There's always plenty of staff around to help you find a free bay and I have seen pros offering swing tips and being available for lessons. What's there but I can't comment on because I haven't used: The par 3 course I mentioned above, a miniature golf course, casual dining area, practice bunker and I believe a pro shop. What I didn't like: During one hot summer evening, we were bombarded with bugs while trying to practice and it did take away from the experience. So I would recommend bringing some bug spray with you just in case. To Anchor I might recommend insecticide and/or bug zappers if local ordinance and budget allow. When all is said and done though, I'm happy to give Anchor my business because of the quality product they offer as well as the friendliness of their staff. read more

Great practice facility for golfers of all skill levels. The indoor simulator is great for some off-season practice. It lets you play some of the best courses in the world or just hit balls on the simulated range. The technology is spot on and it even simulates putting! The new mats and balls really make a huge difference! I'm not big into mini-golf but from what I hear they have done a great job fixing it up! The new management has done a great job and know there are more renovations on the way! The staff is great, they're very knowledgeable and engaging! I've been practicing at anchor for about 10 years, and the recent changes to both the outside range and the addition of an indoor simulator have made it one of the practice facilities around! read more

It says that is was newly renovated but it looks like it was renovated in 2004. The holes are lined with metal and the ball always rolls over it. this place is horrible for mini golf but for real golfers, the putting area looks good. read more

I just moved into the area and since this place is only 5 min from where I live, I figured I'd go there to hit some balls on the driving range. This is on Monday Sept 2nd. As I'm hitting them with my driver, I hit the heater that is above and behind me at the end of my swing. Needless to say, driver is done. There were two couples in the bays next to me seeing what happened and had a look of shock on their face. I asked the old guy and some young kid named Joe at the front desk about it. They said they couldn't help cause the manager wasn't in and that he'd be in Tuesday. Ok no problem. I come in the next day and the same old man that told me the manager would be in is now saying he's not gonna be in that day. He hands me a card for Anthony Esposito saying he was the owner and to reach out to him. I emailed him immediately and attached pics of my damaged driver, thinking, rightfully so, that I should be compensated for a brand new Cobra F9 driver, which was damaged because their heaters are obviously not cleared out enough to get a full swing. He gets back to me today saying that while he's sorry that my driver is damaged, its not his responsibility for damaged equipment. Oh and he also said "send it back to the manufacturer to see if they can fix it". Really? Completely absolving himself from this. If I walked in with broken equipment, thats one thing. But when I walk in with perfectly working clubs and walk out with a damaged one due to his heaters not being spaced out in the bay properly, its your responsibility Anthony. If I were to hit this on the ground or did something stupid, I, in no way, would have even thought of bringing up to the personnel at Anchor Golf. But when you have a heater that is in the way of a full swing, guess what, it's your responsibility. Anthony Esposito clearly doesn't care if you damage your club(s) at his place due to his shoddy setup. This is a poorly run place with poor customer service and even worse management. So if you're looking for a driving range to hit some balls, take this into account and I would STRONGLY advise you not to visit this place. This was a cute place for mini golf and extremely affordable at only $5 per person! Compared with some other places in the area that cost more that $10 per person, this is a steal to play 18 holes. Located right off Route 10, the course is not that inventive and could use a little updating; it has some rips in the greens and paint chipping from structures which didn't appear all that sturdy, but alas, it serves its purpose. There are some holes that are more interesting than others, but don't expect too much of a challenge. If you're looking for a good, cheap game of miniature golf though, it's worth a visit. While I didn't experience the golf range, it appears spacious and well maintained. Inside, they have a golf shop and a golf simulator which my man thinks is pretty awesome. read more

Came here during a quick getaway with my boyfriend. Place was pretty cool. Games weren't too hard, weren't too easy. Love the hole with the Instagram snapshot. They also had a place to eat, but I only had a Gatorade. It was easy to get to from my hotel, but the entrance is quick to miss if you're not paying attention. I rushed out of work today and tried to hit some balls at anchor this evening and it was closed to the public because someone reserved it for a private event. Given the size of the place, I can't believe they wouldn't take care of their regular customers and at least leave a small section open to the public. This seems greedy and shortsighted. I hadn't been here in years since I was younger (was a different name then), but I was so happy to find out that it has been reopened & they are doing a great job at renovating it! My son has taken golf lessons with Greg, who is truly wonderful. We've also attended summer camp at Anchor which was a blast. The new batting cages are pretty cool, too. My boys love that they can see how far they hit the baseball. My youngest also loves the new soccer-golf. Overall, great place, especially for families. read more
