Bar none, Mark Farrar is the Best Designer I've ever worked with and that's no exaggeration... it's a Square Fact³. He was doing computer 3D visual walk through using CAD/CAM over 21 years ago, which was the first of many times that I've hired him... Back then, most Architects and Designers were still pressing lead pencils to paper and saying to their confused clients, "Gee... I hope you can visualize this in your mind." Mark knows how to get your dreams or ideas into the building's practical yet elegant designs... And what's also a Big Plus... Mark's always been great for giving the options of good, better and best... then letting you decide. I'll leave you with this last very important point... Stay away! Mark mislead us in what we needed to provide the county and (after charging us $800 for an initial "assessment") wanted to charge us a fee that was roughly 50% of the entire job. - Mark either had no clue what the county requirements were or lied to us to increase his price - I believe, now, that he had no intentions to do the job, rather just charge us for his "initial assessment"...which provided literally nothing of value. - Mark's Price to design a 300sf open porch was $15k...the entire build and materials was estimated to be $30k, including siding. He later dropped it to $3,500 just to create the drawing for submittal to the county....we did it ourselves in less than an hour - He wanted us to hire a structural engineer and a drone scan...for a deck! - After the fact, I did some further research; - Several bad reviews (some REALLY bad) - several projects gone bad according to official sources read more
