Knuckles Automotive very unreliable. Had my oil change done, his shop not only placed the wrong oil in my car but also forgot to put my oil cap back on. Oil was completely every where under my hood. A week later my alternator went out and the owner didn't want to take ownership for the mistake of his shop and didn't want to replace it even though he told us to let him know if we have any further issues. I do not recommend this shop! Bad business. read more

I opened a Yelp account because I felt so compelled to warn others about this business. If you're not car savvy, you have little choice but to trust that the work they're doing is quality. Over the span of a couple months, I took my car to them several times. Each time having to return because the issue wasn't resolved and a new issue had revealed itself. Thousands of dollars later, my car died on me two days ago driving down Kellogg. Wouldn't accelerate and could hardly steer it. I had it towed to the local Honda Service Center for them to look at. They said previous repairs had been done so poorly it resulted in the engine being damaged and it would need to be completely replaced. They'd never seen anything done so poorly and helped me document the damage and faulty work with photos and video. They really wanted to help me hold the responsible business accountable. They said if weren't for the faulty repairs, I'd still have a working engine and a drivable car. This is a Honda Civic that should have lasted a lot longer but will now be going to the junk yard. If you're looking for auto repair, I'd avoid this place like the plague. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE TAKE THEIR CAR TO KNUCKLES AUTOMOTIVE IN GODDARD, KS EVER. IF YOU DO - USE EXTREME CAUTION EVEN AFTER YOU PICK UP YOUR VEHICLE. JULY 27,2015 - Dispute response from Knuckles comes from a Diane T. Smith (at least we have another name besides Ty). She writes a short response as if she was at the business at anytime but she was never there or near it and only had information from Ty that is his perspective on what he wants her to think about the scenario. The response is not at all representative of the facts and we are now liars I guess. MAY 22, 2015 - Knuckles came highly recommended so we decided to give them a try for a recent repair. We prefer to support small local businesses. However when we picked up the car recently something immediately seemed very wrong as the car was shaking violently so we returned to the shop. Fortunately we were less than a mile away. The problem was that the lug nuts on the tires were not fastened. THAT's A PROBLEM and it's very clear the car was not driven as a quality control before returning it to us! Ty said he was so busy with calls and customers coming in he forgot and remembered what he did. They had also repaired a tire and damaged the TPSI monitor (Tire Pressure System Indicator) in doing so and replaced it at no charge. They said they needed to figure out how to use their equipment to reset the TPSI warning light and I drove away with the warning light on. I called several times in the following days to come have it reset but after a week I was told I needed to go somewhere else to have it reset as they do not know how to do it. We took the car to our former shop who reset the TPSI monitor for us. The brakes were also cleaned by Knuckles for a squeak but still squeaked after we picked it up. They told us we did NOT need new brakes just a brake cleaning. We took it back today to fix the squeak and driving home the brakes still squeak after they applied some "stop squeal solution". When we picked up the car today Ty in his rush handed me the keys for another car! Then when we did get home we immediately called to let them know about the brakes sill squeaking and were told we probably do need new brakes. What?? We just paid you to clean them! Why would we pay to clean bad brakes that Knuckles advised us were good? I am now not convinced they even know brakes. He even said he drove the car but did not hear a squeak. It's absolutely there and I am now not convinced that today they even looked at the car. (1) mechanic and ten cars outside. We asked to speak to owner but were declined her contact information of a Diana and we would probably not catch her as she is hardly ever there. In 10-years Ty told us he never had a problem or complaint and hung up on us. They are highly understaffed and rushed. Ty blames customers for bringing in cars late after their scheduled appointment and that his help Chad is never there. They may have been good and maybe they will be good again, but currently I CAUTION you when hiring Knuckles to repair your car. And, when you hang up on us Ty we resort to social media as we have no other way to communicate. DO NOT DO THAT EVER!! And, we have now explained the scenario to our credit card company including (unfastened lug nuts, unable to reset TPSI monitor sensor, brakes that still have the same problem as when we brought in the car and being hung up on). Now it will only take much more time by you, the owner and your accountant because you will be contacted by our credit card company as we have just declined the charge. There is no way they are driving the customer cars because who is watching the business if the one mechanic is out driving the (10) cars he needs to repair? The answer is that they are not test driving the customerc ars! read more

Took a vehicle in for a new transmission and I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness, respect and professionalism I was treated with as compared to other chain auto repairmen I have dealt with in the past. They fixed the issue completely, I did not have to return - and THAT is worth 5 stars all by itself - GOOD CRAFTMANSHIP. Prices were fair, we were in and out in a week for the transmission.
