One of Tega Cay's oldest parks, it sits at the end of one of the longest peninsulas of the town. The park features playground and picnic sites that are directly on the lake as well as covered picnic shelters, restrooms and a beautiful scenic overlook. Friday nights are when the Carolina Show Ski Team puts on their free waterski shows. Note that parking is by permit only and the permits are not free. There's also no walking here from anywhere other than very nearby as no public transport visits this deep into Tega Cay. [Review 13069 overall, 386 of 2020.]

Windjammer park is one of the most beautiful and accessible parks in the area. To start things off,…read morethere are a couple beaches scattered throughout the peninsula along with some docks too. There is a pavilion with benches too which can make for some scenic picnics. In the summer, the park can get pretty busy but nothing unbearable as there is plenty of space. Make sure to be careful with parking as you need a Tega Cay parking pass and sometimes police will make rounds. The main attraction of the park is the sunset during the summer. Towards the back of the park, there are plenty of benches and swings that overlook most of Lake Wylies. As the sun sets, there is a perfect angle that makes for an amazing view. All in all, this park is worth a visit and makes for a fun, cheap outing.

Other than the boat launch, there is plenty of parking for the rest of the park as well as trail access. Picnic areas, benches, restrooms, a large playground and grills for cooking. This park is good for 3 things:…read more #1 - Launching a boat. # 2 - Watching the sunset. Windjammer has the best view on the peninsula but Pitcairn has some pretty decent spots. There are a few platform bench areas and some other benches scattered near the water, not to mention the dock itself. # 3 - In the summertime, if you are a teenager, this seems to be the place to be. The docks are normally infested with groups of teens swimming, tanning and imbibing in underage activities. But no hate and no shade. ** Honorable mention goes to fishing. My husband will come here every few weeks to get the line wet. He has yet to catch anything memorable but the ambience makes it worthwhile. There is also a very sparse play structure, some picnic tables and a restroom. We've renamed it the "murder bathroom" because it's dank and nasty. It's worth mentioning a Tega Cay sticker is required to park here.
