Dutch pancake, extra crispy "bacon", and fried eggs.

Very cozy local place whose pancakes rival their larger competitors. The service on a Saturday morning was great, the ambiance inside is quaint, and there's an interesting wall full of international currency. We got a plain Dutch pancake and they give you powdered sugar and syrup to go with it. We also ordered a side of fried eggs, and a side of bacon (which is really more like ham sliced very thin) and both were delicious. My wife ordered mint tea and it came full of FRESH mint leaves and she loved it. I highly recommend this place and it is also very close to the Anne Frank museum.

Lovely cozy breakfast spot along the canal in Amsterdam, only two blocks from the Anne Frank Museum. They have the typical breakfast options -- eggs, toast, some sandwiches, pancakes, etc. Inside seating is cozy, not too many seats, but a decent amount. You can also order takeout. The coffee was strong and tasty, and made to order. For food, I got the omelette mexicano which was very tasty and I really enjoyed it. I was torn between this one and the one with goat cheese as they both sounded so good. The omelette came with a small salad and two slices of toast. I also ordered the dutch apple pie, which was amazing and I would highly recommend. Give them a try if you're in the area!

We came here TWICE during our 4 day amsterdam stay! First, because we really needed COFFEE to get us through our day, and this was the closest we found to the Anne Frank Museum! it seems like they don't always do take out.. because when we asked for our coffees to go, they seemed a little hesitant and said it's not a regular thing they do. Coffee was nice and strong! Not watered down at all which I appreciated. While we were waiting for our drinks, we smelled and saw a delicious breakfast sandwich. Which is why we came back a few days later for a sit down breakfast!! However the sandwiches we got were a little lackluster :( the bread wasnt all buttered and toasted.. so maybe we just got the wrong thing?? It's a very cozy and cute cafe though! So I'd recommend if you're in the area

Get the bitterballen cheese (off menu) with a side of crispy bacon. Great fast service. Reasonably priced, great view.

We were looking to have a late breakfast/early lunch and stumbled across this wonderful cafe. They were busy and all of the outside seating was taken but we were seated fairly quickly. We ordered the bacon pancake, ham & cheese omelet and Pastrami Sandwich. The pancake was the star of the show! That said, all of the dishes were tasty and you could tell they were scratch made. Service was excellent! Can't wait to return to Amsterdam to visit again!

The bacon and goat cheese pancake was fantastic. Drinks were great and so was the service.

Right by the canal, Koffiehuis De Hoek is the spot for people-watching and close conversations. My brother and I came here considering the positive reviews on Yelp. During COVID, the staff really knew how to adapt to the situation and promote a safe environment to enjoy the coffee house experience. The food was generally good and filling. As people have mentioned before, it took a while to get the check. It might be something that is customary. But in all, a nice breakfast in Amsterdam.

Andre fried eggs and pancake! The best

THE BEST BREAKFAST IN AMSTERDAM. We loved it so much we went twice on our trip! The Andrè Fried Eggs are to die for! Fried eggs, ham, onion, cheese on top of bread. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The jumbo pancake with strawberries is also amazing! Perfect outdoor seating facing the canal And they have a wall inside full of money taped to the wall ! Super cool

Apple pancake. We also got the ham, which we loved!

Would avoid. Workers don't care for the hours on their website or door. Interrupted our morning plan.

Everything about this place was great!…read more I'll start with the service. We walked in around 4:10 and they didn't start food service for another 20 minutes. The waiter was super cool and told us to have a seat anywhere we liked and brought us a drink menu. He knew we wanted to eat so at exactly 4:30 he came and took our orders. Through out the meal he was on top of everything and even offered many suggestions! The food was spectacular as well. I had the trio of fries and my friends had other small plates that were all so good! And the sauces that come with the fries, mamma mia! We also shared the Boca's Platter and it was absolutely to die for. Do not pass this up. I repeat, do not pass this up! Between 4 people, the medium was plenty of food. The space itself was also nice. They had outdoor seating for nicer days. We went right when food service began on a Monday afternoon so can't speak to how busy it gets during peak hours. Go for the great service, go for the Boca Platter, whatever you do, just go!

The bruschetta was delicious and if you love blue cheese, get it...it's extremely rich and creamy. The three kinds of fries were solid; curly, sweet potato, and regular with some chili ketchups. The boca platter was HUGE and we got the medium for 4 people. Came with steak, fried shrimp, mackerel potato salad, crostini, and an assortment of cheeses and some pepperoni. Last but not least...my favorite...the tartare. The quail egg was delicately placed atop the center of the meat and placed alongside the four little crostini on the plate. It was juicy and had so much flavor, a little spicy but not an overwhelming amount of chili spice. This meal reminded me of tapas in Madrid; definitely stop by bocas and get everything!

Coffee & Coconuts, seriously another amazing cafe that I visited during my trip in Amsterdam!…read more This cafe is hidden on the outside, but once you step inside, it is massively huge with three stories of dining tables. After waiting to be seated, our hostess guided us upstairs to the third floor, where they have several more dining tables and cozy couches that you can sit on while you enjoy your coffee. My parents, having visited this cafe before during their last trip to Amsterdam, raved about this place and suggested that I try their famous coconut coffee. All three of us ordered their coconut coffee, with my dad adding an espresso shot to his own so that he could stay awake for the rest of the night. Once I reached that first sip, OMG. SO DELICIOUS. How can I make my own coconut coffee back at home?! I loved it so much that I really want to make a copycat of it. The straws are also bendable, which really makes it handy if you need to lower your straw a bit. If I could, I would get on a plane to Amsterdam just to come back for their coconut coffee. That's how delicious it is! Local or tourist, I strongly suggest Coffee & Coconuts. You will not regret coming here at all!
