I want to say that 1 star is actually 0.0! There was absolutely nothing that would make me believe and say that this spa is even a 2 star place to spend your money or feel relaxed. Shitty service! Front desk staff lack customer service, or even the value of satisfaction. It's pathetic! Where are those people who have education in hospitality and know how to provide good service or at least TALK to your customer. I booked a "FOOT reflexology" with a head massage add on and did this online while providing a detailed note "I am 27 weeks pregnant". Why add a f*** note space if you don't bother? I went in, I was told it's a body reflexology and I said no because I am pregnant and I can lay in that position. So after that J was told I can't get the reflexology as pressure points may affect pregnancy so just given a "Moisturizing massage". Bloody hell! I paid $195 for a foot reflexology that I did not get and when I told them front desk/staff she said oh how about your add on head massage? She didn't say anything and just asked me to pay that $195 Plus tax and tip etc. Hey HILTON, go get yourself some trained staff and forget that I would ever want to join your digesting Honors club. I have so much to say about your services but mostly you just want the money. You don't care about quality or service or satisfaction. I am so annoyed I had to pay $$$ for $50 worth service and didn't even see a staff interested in either compensating or even offering an apology. So PISSED!

When they sell you $300 scratched sunglasses- you point out the scratch and they say "it was final sale"

More applause for the amazing Adele (the queen of lomi lomi), the exceptional Estelle (who runs a wonderful restorative yoga class), and the generally relaxing atmosphere...anytime there's not a gaggle of a group together. Most days, the spa is quite empty, and so even though the facilities are limited you can enjoy complimentary bliss if you're staying in the Hilton's Makai Tower even if you don't have a treatment. But it's sufficiently small so that if there is a group of women together for a spa day who want to be loud and chat, it kind of ruins the atmosphere. Last time I came I had restorative yoga all to myself; this time the Hatha yoga filled up with thirteen people and we were four in restorative yoga. Still, I had a good 5 out of 6 blissful days to enjoy the lava rock whirlpool, sauna, streamroom, lounge chairs and special showers. There are fancier spas at many resorts - but the classes and treatments here (if you get one of their better therapists) can't be beat, just like the price (free if you're staying here!) of enjoying the facilities for the day.

The 5 stars is for my massage therapist, Sam!!! She was amazing!!! I got the Lomi Lomi massage with add on feet care and facial hydration mask... OMGOSH............I felt so amazing afterwards and she even told me about local places to eat "real island" food!!!! My cousin said that I was glowing afterwards and I felt like all the stress of LA was released in a 50 minute spa... and my feet were as soft as a baby's skin!!! I was really sore after, but this was literally the first time that I treated myself to a massage! Mahalo Sam, thank you for living Aloha... just wish your other co-workers did too, but that's another story, HA!!!

I was able to book a 60-minute massage ($95 not including tax or tip) for the next day on their website. She used firm pressure and worked on the knots on my back, some of which were stubborn. One knot was especially obdurate. She kept kneading it, so much so that I began to feel bad and wanted to tell her, That knot is not going anywhere; the knot and I have reached detente. But she managed to smooth it away! At the end of the massage, she placed a hot rolled towel under my neck and wrapped my feet briefly in hot towels, too. Very relaxing. The atmosphere of 'Alohilani is very calm and soothing (at least whenI visited, on an early June weekend) and the business is located on the second floor of an office park. I highly recommend going here instead of the high-priced spas in the resorts.

I was in desperate need of a massage during the high season as a house cleaner. Luckily I…read morediscovered this place, which is not only located right across the street from me but it happened to be the only place with availability for the following day (as opposed to a week+ out). I booked my 1.5 hour appointment for the following day. I received a text that my appointment was made. But then minutes later I received another text saying that the appointment was canceled I called them to ask about this, and the woman on the phone told me not to worry about that, but that my appointment was fine. So I showed up the next day for my appointment and they told me "hm.. it looks like your appointment was cancelled" I explained the situation and the lady at the counter said "I'm so sorry that happened. Unfortunately, that 1.5 hour time slot isn't available anymore, but I can get set up right now to offer you a 60 minute massage if you'd like." I was annoyed that despite my effort to ensure my appointment was secured, it still was taken away. BUT I was immediately even more impressed and all the more thankful that the lady "checking me in" was willing, without any hesitation, to personally offer me a massage herself! Now, for the massage.. As uncomfortable as I may feel receiving massages from male therapists, I often suck it up and opt for a male masseuse anyways, because they are stronger, so even their "Swedish massages" end up being kind of like deep tissue massages so, since I was being treated by a woman, I was concerned that she maybe wouldn't be able to make enough of a dent in my knots. I was so wrong to question that! She gave me the perfect amount of pressure in all the needed places! She even found a TON of knots that I didn't even know were there It was a perfect massage. Even during the massage I was already planning when I could come back next lol. So, the massage experience was definitely 5 stars! But if I want to be strictly fair to give a completely objective review, I give 4 stars only because of that appointment mix up. But I would hope that isn't a regular issue here

I really wish I remembered my massage therapist's name, as she had the hands of the most perfect human on this planet. At times, it felt like she was digging into muscle spaces I didn't even know existed (and honestly wish didn't, because of the pain).
