I'm giving the spa area itself a 3 star review because it needs to be updated and the steam room has been out of order for two years but I want to give FIVE STARS (more if I could) to my massage therapist Anela (Angel in Hawaiin)! I have traveled all over the world and have massages several times a year in my home state of Arizona although, this was by far the best massage I ever had! It was the Lomi Lomi Hawaiin Massage. She used her hands, forearms, elbows and I don't like deep tissue massages but I like a firm massages and she exceeded my expectations. The 80 minutes was perfect and I felt as if I was having an out of body experience as she handled every inch of far from petite frame. at the end of my massage I asked her "do you love what you do "and she said yes for 15 years. I told her that it showed and I've never had a better massage! I hope my tip let her know how much I enjoyed it. If you ever get a chance to go to the spa at this resort please request Anela! My experience at the Kohala Spa (at the Hilton Waikaloa) was disappointing. The amenities were virtually nonexistent and my masseuse was not very good, especially consider the price! Amenities are very limited: there is a hot tub and a sauna. That's it. There were spaces where it looks like there used to be other amenities but all were blocked off and labeled "closed." The hot tub didn't seem to have the right ph because my skin stung afterwards. Also, the relaxation room was located where there is a lot of foot traffic so not a great space there either. The facilities are in desperate need of a face lift and improved amenities. I got the Kohala massage, which was fairly standard Swedish style massage. It was on special for $165 for 50 min. It was worth maybe $50. I told my masseuse that I had been experiencing some ankle trouble due to a 4 hour boat ride (sea legs) and having run a marathon the previous week. She spent only a few minutes there and then put Sombra on my calves. That was it for working on those muscles. My husband got the 75 min Pohaku hot stone massage for $245. He says that his masseuse spent a lot of time not doing much at all to massage. Go somewhere else for your spa experience on Big Island. read more

My husband and I did the indoor couples massage for our anniversary. It was my first time getting a massage and I was quite nervous- especially living in a larger body. The attendant brought me a bigger robe without my embarrassment of having to ask or wearing the one that did not cover enough. Beth was amazing and welcoming and kind putting me at ease and helping me feel safe. I couldn't ask for a better first massage experience!!! I came to the Big Island for my babymoon and of course I have to get a prenatal massage to make it count. This prenatal is one of many but it's so much better. Not because it's in Hawaii or that it's at a resort but because I was able to lie face down! The first and only place I've ever had a chance to experience that. I was 20 weeks pregnant. It was so comfortable and soothing. It felt weird and unusual at the beginning but the massage... oh my. The therapist was able to fully massage my back. I tried so hard not to fall asleep so I can enjoy every moment of it. The massage included the use of their facilities, which was awesome. It was clean, quiet and they have everything you could ever ask for. I highly recommend it and if I ever come back to the Big Island I will for sure return to this spa for another treatment. Our children gave us a Lomi Lomi couple's massage for Christmas at the Kohala Spa on December 21, 2015. We have been fortunate to experience some amazing spas in various locations including the Mandara Spa at Hilton Hawaiian Village on Oahu, so our expectations of the Kohala Spa were high. While the actual 50 minute massage was good, the overall spa experience was well below average. First, my husband and I were separated (as usual) to go to the men's/women's facilities. My husband waited for 20 minutes (even though he was the only person waiting in waiting room and approached the person at the front desk several times) before being taken back for the tour and time to get into his robe for the massage. He then had to rush as the massage was supposed to have already started. Meanwhile I was waiting in the couple's room with my massage therapist for them to arrive. The massage room was typical, but there was no aromatherapy like one usually experiences, even at lower-end massage therapy franchises like Massage Envy or La Vida. That lack of aroma and the typical "spa" music was disappointing as it would have been nice to have Hawaiian music and more of an overall Hawaiian experience altogether. I spent 30-40 minutes enjoying the spa amenities after the massage - exceptional steam room, sauna, and lava rock whirlpool as well as a nice shower. When I emerged to the lobby, I found my husband waiting -- he took a shower, but all of the amenities were broken in the men's area -- it would have been nice to know this in advance so I did not make him wait so long -- but since he had no "tour" at the beginning, we had no idea. He was offered the option of going to one of the hotel pools to sit in their whirlpool, but....not really the spa experience he expected. His shower was also plugged up and backed up so that he was standing in ankle deep water. We were asked if we had our parking ticket to be validated (we were staying down the road at The Bay Club condominiums), but we had left it in the car. The spa receptionist said we could stop at the Valet in the hotel to get a pass, so we went there on our way out. They were "out of passes" and sent us on our way. One of the valets did chase us down in the parking lot to tell us that we could press the assistance button and explain where hopefully they would let us out, but no one answered, so we paid the $15 for 1.5 hours of parking and left. Overall, great massage, poor experience. read more

If you're staying at the Hilton, make sure to schedule at least one massage at the Kohala! During a week-long stay, we had a couples massage, each had a bath, and my wife had a second massage, so we became pretty familiar with the spa and had no issues with going back each time : ) The massages were all very relaxing and nice, but I'd suggest skipping out on the couples massage and just do them separately... my wife and I got the impression that the therapists kept trying to keep up with one another to stay on time. Other than being able to be in the same room with your partner, there is no benefit to the couples massage (the price is double a singles massage, there are no perks, and there isn't time to enjoy the experience with your partner). Also, the Lomi Lomi massage is the way to go; the Kohala is nice, but you're in Hawaii... get the Hawaiian massage. The facilities were nice (not as nice as the spa at the Hyatt on Maui, which is my favorite) and would be what you'd expect at a resort like the Hilton. In addition to treatment rooms, there are locker rooms with steam rooms, saunas, whirlpools, showers, and bath tubs. Two potential dings on the place are: 1) the front desk staff, which can be hit or miss. One receptionist is very friendly, while another could care less. 2) the overpriced resort costs. I feel very mixed about this spa. I haven't been to many, and never got a massage before this. The spa is very nice, and clean. They have a steam room, jacuzzi, great bathroom area with hair dryers, curling irons, lotion, gel, mouthwash, and tons of towels for us to use. Five stars for them. My friends and I booked massages and a mani/pedi as a group. We go change into the provided spa robes, and were then split up into pairs. Two went to get their nails done. My friend and I that was left were going to get a massage first, a little bummed we wouldn't all be together, but understood if it were because of a lack of masseuses. Anyway, when my friend and I were taken into get our massages, we were also split up in to our own rooms. Minus one star. My massage was good, though I have nothing to compare it to. Though too much oil for my liking, I felt like I'd been soaking in oil, but I dealt with it, plus they did have great showers complete with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Though they did mix up the shampoo and conditioner and put each into the opposite container which left me momentarily confused as to why my shampoo wasn't lathering. Anyhow, the massage was good. Kat my masseuse gets three stars. Why only three? Well for one, she didn't warn me that she'd be rubbing oil onto my face after massaging my feet, and just went ahead and did it, even though she knew it was my first massage. Then she did this weird thing to my head where she was at first massaging my scalp, but then started to scratch my scalp as if she were trying to tear it off. It hurt, I was like, what the hell!? Luckily she stopped that. But still, she loses stars for that. So I enter back into the waiting area to find my friend already waiting. I was about to go sit and talk with her about our experience when I am already called into my mani/pedi appointment. My friend is left in the waiting area. I go into the nail salon and find our other two friends still finishing up. So basically three of us were together while one was all alone. That sucked! After fifteen minutes she just ambled on over to wait with us. The fact that the spa split us all up and then were going to make my friend wait and get her nails done a full thirty minutes after me, was just dumb! Luckily, after we complained a little to the lady working on my nails, they took in my friend immediately. So my mani/pedi was finished before hers, but I was able to sit with her until she was done. The pedicure was fun. My feet look amazing. And the lady doing my nails even complimented me about my incredibly tiny baby toenail, which I hate. The manicure was also pretty good. Really fast. The lady who worked on me was quick, which I didn't mind so much until about 6 hours post-spa. My manicure started chipping. $46 for a manicure that didn't even last the night!!! And twenty four hours later, it looks like I did my manicure weeks ago. Not to mention she kind of hacked at my cuticles which left me with more cuticle damage. So only two stars for my manicurist and that was for the pedicure, which is still in fully in tact, and the fact that she was friendly. One plus, I bought a bottle of O.P.I. nail polish in a color I love for half-off. In all, if we go back to Waikoloa, we won't be going to this spa. They do validate valet parking and they did give us a discount due to being Kamaaina, but that's not enough incentive to go back. read more

Not worth the money. For the luxury resort cost in services you pay for a massage at this location you're better off going off property for a much better experience and much cheaper. I don't mind paying 2 to 3 times a typical massage cost for the luxury resort experience, but this was by far the worst I have experienced in 20 years of getting massages. I had first called to book a reservation for a lomi-lomi, wanting to experience the traditional massage in HW for the first time. The receptionist/reservationist gave me some available times over the next 2 days. I decided to call back to after confirming my schedule for the next couple of days. When I did call back, she did not pick up the phone for 5 straight minutes so I hung up and decided to try back a little later. Called again, this time letting it ring for 10-15 mins then I heard her pick up the phone and hang it back up!? I decided to forget going through her to make a reservation and made it on the website instead. I arrived for the appt the next day to find out that the receptionist informed me that I would be getting my lomi-lomi by a male therapist. I am male and have had male therapists previously, not a big deal, but I specifically asked the reservationist the day before for a female therapist, knowing that a lomi-lomi is less draping and more of an intimate massage. I did not want my first experience to be a male. The receptionist confirmed that there was not a female therapist available and that my online booking left the sex preference of the therapist as either. I obviously did not see the box for preference online. I could not cancel the massage at this point and get a refund due to their policy of no cancellations within 4 hours of the service. So I decided to forgo my first lomi-lomi and go with a deep tissue from the male therapists. Males can work out knots better for particularly sore muscles in my experience anyhow, so I was ok with it. Had the male therapist been good at massage that would have been one thing but his technique was very poor and he grunted and sighed at times as though he was getting the massage, very weird! It was a waste of time and money so I let the receptionist know of my displeasure upon paying and her only solution was to give me 10% off the service and another 10% off a future massage. I will be going back to this resort in 2024 but will be seeking a massage elsewhere. If their other therapists are as bland at massage as he was, then it's not worth 50% off a massage that is already 3x's overpriced. Their customer service at a resort like this is the biggest disappointment. Save your money - go elsewhere and get a 3x better massage and service. read more

I had a massage here in April , 2015. It was mediocre, at best. Certainly not worth $180. 1. I asked the masseuse (whose name I won't post here) not to touch one part of my body that was very sensitive. It was my only request, and she forgot and hurt me when she rubbed it. 2. My masseuse scratched me with her long nails. 3. The oil she used wasn't warm. 4. She used uneven pressure in both her hands, so different parts of me were massaged differently. She did some things on one half of my body that she forgot to do on the other half. 5. After my massage, I took a shower. The shower head in the first stall was broken. There was a broken shampoo bottle in the second stall. 6. There was a woman in the whirlpool and shower area speaking loudly on her phone. It was rude and inconsiderate and clearly against the spa policy which was that no electronics were to be used in this area. A spa attendant was in the room, but she didn't ask the offender to step outside for her call. So much for peace and quiet in paradise... Spend your money elsewhere. read more

5 stars is for facial from Susan, highly recommend her. 3 stars for the facilities. I've been to 5 star spas and while this has some very nice features far from being 5 stars. The individual whirlpools have been "out of service for remodeling" for a very long time. The big whirlpool is very nice and special- The best part of the facility. Has steam room, sauna both work well. Water and apples provided. I have a spa membership though and so I can use the facilities just for a facial but now that they split apart the salon and facials are from the Aveda Salon (separate owner) while fitness and massage are part of Kohala spa if you are only getting a facial you don't get access to the lockers, whirlpool, etc included with your facial (separate fee). read more

Excellent spa - their facilities are clean, well stocked and super relaxing. The steam room is kept spotless and the 3 times I went there, the jacuzzi was empty. Make sure to get one of the 2 middle showers, since those 2 have a quad shower spray that will get you from the top & side - woo hoo! Great workout facilities - everything is new & every cardio machine has it's own tv. Bring your headphones! The ice water, fruit & tea are all constantly refreshed and it's such a nice treat to have ice cold hand towels available after a long workout! read more

Raaar! The whirlpool is huge and nice as it has rocks to sit on and use as underwater ottomans. It is in the patio area of the ladies locker room and has a serene surrounding as the sun shines on the garden setting. 5 stars! Friendly, helpful staff that checks you in and accommodates all your needs. Truly 5 stars! All the accessories spa experiences offer: towels, robes, footwear, locker, toiletries, personal care items, blow dryers, flat irons, lemon water, teas and fruit. Lounge chairs in the sun were relaxing and awesome to work on the tan with no tan lines. The services were great. 5 star massage and pedicure. New furnishings. Staff had a great, professional demeanor. Always enjoy a day of relaxation. This spa is the 1st in the world where I felt as if I had reached bliss. I was gifted a Honey and Sugar scrub treatment. The description of it sounded lovely and relaxing. Hot Honey drizzled on you, sugar scrub, facial and scalp massage all sounded nice. Let's just say I came home feeling worse then when I left. First of all, when she started my massage she applied a good amount of pressure directly on my spinal bones in my neck. Right away I got a headache and knew she had done something wrong. Next she did the sugar scrub, which was nice and good. The face and scalp massage was something my husband could've done at home. Nothing special. While they work on your face and scalp they wrap you up all warm except that I wasn't very warm and was actually shivering the whole time. Very relaxing. Anyway, there was no honey insight!!!, which was the main reason why I chose this specific treatment. No one else does a honey treatment, that I could find. After she wrapped up with me, she neglected to tell me that the board on the table moves so when I was getting off I almost fell off and because of that, thru out my back. I did enjoy the complimentary jacuzzi but not for long because my back was bothering me. I barely made it to my car and was extremely happy that I had driven there with a friend. Overall, a HUGE disappointment. I have gotten many massages over the years due to a bad back. So I know when a massage is being done right or wrong. PLEASE READ TO THE END... I have had other Spa Experiences and this by far was the most disappointing. My FIRST Spa Experience with my daughter. I should have known from the reviews but chose to ignore. Then I should have known from the girl who answered the phone who scheduled our Spa Massage her name was Leah. She wasn't friendly at all and didn't make us feel welcomed when we checked in. The following are my observations; 1. Nothing but water to drink 2. Bitter apples in a bowl. 3. The locker we were given was difficult to unlock after setting the combination. 4. The robes we were given were ratty and worn out. We searched in other lockers that were open to find a less used one. 5. We were given a tour but just pointing where everything is. Shower there. Bathroom there. Hot tub there. It was rushed. 6. The Hot Tub was unimpressive. No aesthetics. No music. 7. I tried is using the blow dryer and it made such a loud rattling noise, scared I hurried and turned it off. 8. There was nobody offering us an opportunity to order food or a glass of wine or a glass of refreshing anything. We were told when we finally inquired that it would take a half hour. Well at that point we were already bored and very disappointed. Now to conclude the ONE POSITIVE was the massages we received by Stef and Aaron were enjoyable. Wish it would have been enough to warrant paying $400 00 I have tried reaching out to the director Becky with no success. I don't want my money back and I don't want a free service. Another reason I choose which spa I go too! That's a low on my spa day!! The massage itself was not as I expected with it being pricey. There was no focus or rhythm. It was all over the place; massage here, massage there... a bit amateur. Need more training. Gratuity was included (15%) which is a good and bad thing. Ahhhhmaaazziiinngg! Be prepared to be pampered but also be prepared to spend some money. Any service includes full access to the facilities all day the day you have your service, which is an added bonus. My husband and I both had a Lomi Lomi massage which is a traditional Hawaiian massage. Both of our massage therapists spoke to us before the massage to understand our needs and checked-in during the massage to make sure we were happy with their services. I was extremely relaxed and ready to start our vacation after this massage. We both went our separate ways as the locker rooms are gender segregated and they are equipped with showers, lockers, dry sauna, steam sauna and hot tub/whirlpool. We both spent about an hour in our respective saunas and utilized the services as well as their showers and wonderful spa selections of hair and bath products. We both left their feeling rejuvenated and relaxed after our very long travel the day before. I highly suggest booking a spa day the day after you arrive to decompress from your travels and make your reservation earlier in the day so you have the afternoon to enjoy all the spa amenities. It's a very nice, clean spa with shower, steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. I loved my body treatment by Holly. I was totally relaxed and I'm pretty sure I was snoring during my treatment! The facility is absolutely gorgeous! The renovation has left it in wonderful, pristine condition. The steam room is glorious and the whirlpool is relaxing. Their massages are fabulous! Well worth the money. The body scrub is nice but don't expect luxury. You lay on a wet table and are scrubbed down by a techinician in a plastic apron. It leaves your skin wonderfully exfoliated but it definitely is not luxurious. The products here are wonderful and leave you smelling great! It is definitely worth it to pick some up for gifts or to indulge yourself at home. Overall a wonderful experience! read more

The spa itself is adequate, the amenities are what you would expect in a resort spa but the customer service is terrible and it is way over priced. I've been to much more luxurious spas for half the price and twice the service. My therapist was good, he did a decent job, not great but not bad either. I was staying at a nearby villa so I had to drive to the hotel and park. Parking was a nightmare, with few spaces and a price of $20 for 2 hours. Firstly upon arrival I had to wait 20 minutes, no water/tea or coffee was offered. I even mentioned how it took me forever to find the spa in the hotel. The tech who did my service was very sweet but very slow and not the neatest job. I finally asked for water, which arrived in paper cup!!! This really put me off. Anyway at check out I was waiting for 20 minutes! Again the staff was sweet but clearly very lacking in providing an "experience" or polished level of service for the price. read more

My husband made an appointment for lomi lomi massage on my birthday. He has not been to many spas, and he called the spa to confirm the price of the massage for both of us. He asked for the price for couple massage, and apparently the person who answered the phone gave him the price for just one person. He actually asked her one more time if that is the total. She said, yes that is the total amount. After a satisfying 80 minute massage, he was so surprised to find out the actual amount that we had to pay was twice of what the lady told her over the phone. I recently went to Kohala Spa for a 50 min Kohala massage. The customer service and locker room area was ok at best. For the price I was able expecting more. The reason for the five star review was my masseuse Carl. Carl was outstandingly professional and kind. He also has fantastic hands and is truly a gifted masseuse. Carl made sure I was relaxed and comfortable the entire time. I would not recommend this spa for the amenities but make sure to request Carl for a massage. Lastly be advised that they add 18% gratuity to every bill. read more

They spray you with jets afterwards. Sort of a sterile shower room, no music or ambience. Felt great and left skin super smooth. I'd do it again. * Lomi Lomi Massage--was amazing, one of my favorite massages ever. Love love love! Neutral: *I was ready early and my therapist asked me if I'd like to go ahead with my treatment. I did. -: (Please note, my local spa is located in a 5-star resort so I have very high standards I guess) *I showed up early (2 hours) and the first question was whether I'd like to have a sooner appt. Um no, I'd like to enjoy the facility. Turns out I really only needed about an hour. When asked again, I took them up on it. *Robes and slippers were not distributed by size. *No vanity area to dry/style my hair, I would have had to do this at the sink area. Instead, I skipped showering altogether. Showers looked nice though. *There was (what appeared to be) a male gardener watering the plants by the garden whirlpool. Perhaps the facility is co-ed? If so, seems like they should have pointed that out. *I had to ask for a plastic bag for my wet swimsuit. *Refreshments included tea, water, and apples; more variety would have been nice. *My local spa provides a little drawstring pouch with their embroidered logo in each locker with non-bulk toiletries (razor, shaving cream, toothbrush/toothpaste, sunscreen). If you are going to opt for a massage, get the Lomi Lomi with Jackie, hands down one of the best massages I have gotten! The spa is on the smaller side in regards to amenities, it has a steam room, sauna, and outdoor soaking pond however it is very peaceful and relaxing but hey, when I am in Hawaii I am only at the spa for the treatment, it is too beautiful outside to spend the full day inside. The spa automatically adds an 18% gratuity that is split between the staff so be sure to take some cash to give directly to your masseur if you want. All in all worth the price! read more

My partner had a hair appointment with the stylist name Gerry. She showed up on time for her 1130 appointment and was notified that Gerry was still with another client. Not an issue for her, she quickly went out to her vehicle to get her glasses and used the bathroom on the way back. Gerry was waiting at the front desk when she returned and barely greeted her before stating rudely that she was "late" and even after explaining that she was there on time while he was with another client he wouldn't concede that she wasn't in the wrong and was being outright nasty about it. This guy has a ridiculous ego if he thinks talking to a guest like that is acceptable. On their own website it states in their policy that late shows have their appointments shortened to accommodate other clients. Which is pretty standard in the industry, that could have been conveyed in a respectful manner but absolutely wasn't. Gerry then proceeded to nit pick about my partners hair in a very vindictive negative way, compounding the uncomfortable feeling she was already growing. Completely unprofessional. At this point she didn't want this man touching her hair with the attitude he had displayed and asked whether they had enough time left to complete the appointment which he responded "you have 90 minutes and the clocks ticking" she promptly asked to speak with a manager. He then RIPPED OFF HER APPRON YANKING HAIR OUT IN THE PROCESS!!! He should absolutely be fired. The desk attendant told my partner to walk to ocean tower(other side of hotel) to speak to a manager. Owana the manger got mad at my partner for trying to speak to her while she was getting ready to start some kind of event for a guest whom had not arrived. She was very rude and pretty much turned her back on my partner without hearing her out or specifying a time they could talk just saying she'd call later. She ended up having to go to hotel management who didn't do anything for her but let her know somebody would be getting back to her. Later that day she received a call from the "manager" Owana who had been rude to her at ocean tower, and instead of finding out what happened, proceeded to scold her about approaching her earlier and going over her head to hotel management. My partner indicated she wanted to record the conversation and was promptly hung up on..... Later Owana texted her a non apologetic message claiming ignorance to what had happened and accusing my partner was being disrespectful of the other guests time, even though she was alone when they first met and could have quickly apologized and set a meet time to resolve the issue. I have never seen this level of disrespect in the service industry. I highly recommend you get your hair done somewhere else. We've been long time spa members and will be taking our business to mauna lani. Completely unbelievable how this was handled. read more

We were staying kitty corner from the Hilton and had planned to go to a spa. My husband and I are both massage fans and we were debating where to go. This is a very pricey spa (not as much as the spa without walls but close) and my husband opted to go into Kona for his spa day and I went here on the same day. The winner - ME!! Yes it was expensive - as I knew in advance it would be, but the amenities were great, I had a private locker (my husband carried his clothes with him) it had separate male and female facilities and my massage was great. I got the lomi-lomi because I had heard it was a great massage and I felt wonderful. I also got a facial and when I was done I felt completely pampered and relaxed and to top it off to go home all I had to do was walk across the street. My husband saved a lot of money but when he was done he had to drive home - almost an hour, some of it in bumper to bumper traffic. There went all the therapy of the massage. My only ding was the showers, wish they had jets in them like some other spas I've been to, also my shower didn't drain all that well and the floor was flooded with water. The dressing room had hair dryers and curling irons, combs, brushes, deodorant and hair spay so you could leave the spa ready to face the world. The therapists also gave me a list of the products they had used and items could be purchased in the spa lobby. Yes I know they are trying to sell product but this was no pressure way to approach the sale of product. read more

Scheduled a signature couple Hawaiian flower massage for 90 minutes. $460 total without tip. We arrived and were told we had to spa separately. Then while waiting the staff walked through numerous times yelling and joking w one another (really relaxing) then massage was 80 min. 10 min short of what we were paying for!? Additionally, they tried giving us a male when we specifically asked for two females. Not worth it. read more

I want to start by saying the service staff was great. However..... The front reservations desk were very rude. They messed up 2 of our appointments. 1st we wanted mani pedis, they only booked the pedis and didn't have time for the mani. Then 2 days later we had booked couples deep tissue massages, which the front desk said they don't offer and booked us for a much more expensive massage. When we got to our room, the massage therapists said they did offer it and gave us the deep massages. The front desk would not change the price and charged us for the more expensive service. The front desk lady was rude and kept rolling her eyes at us. And on the men's side the hot tub wasn't working and neither was the sauna. All in all, not worth it. This is the worst spa I've been to. If it were less expensive I would have given it two stars, but the little you get for the price you pay is outrageous. I came to the resort for the Kona marathon with my husband so we thought it would be nice to get a couples massage the following day. The massage was good- but I was surprised when the lady spent less than a minute on my feet knowing I had just run so far. My husband said his massage was good. The most disappointing part was that there was no coed space for my husband and I to enjoy our spa day together. Each locker room had a small steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi, but there was no enjoyment for me if I couldn't hang out with hubby. There is a small coed patio on the other side of the spa, but there's no shade so we didn't want to sit there. The women's locker room had some upkeep issues: the shower I was in had a knob that had no function, and a hook on the wall hanging off of its anchor. There was a light fixture flickering. There were very few toiletry amenities. Only water, tea and apples were available. The staff worked loudly (talking, complaining), which disrupted what I prefer to be a peaceful spa atmosphere. My husband's robe and slippers were small for him. I was booked to have a pedicure with my sister here tomorrow, so I asked to see the pedicure room- but it was just like any nail salon- I'm not paying spa prices for a nail salon experience. Of course they do 18% auto gratuity, so now even with the kama'aina discount it still came to $472-yikes! I feel sick! read more
