I had the yellowtail nigiri and tuna roll. I was drawn in by the $.01 sake, which was the only thing good. Fish was not good! The yellowtail was oily and thin & the tuna was bland, bleeding reds die into the sushi rice. It was classic grocery store sushi with cold rice. I went for the first time and ordered Tonkotsu ramen and spicy tuna rolls. The spicy tuna was great and had a good consistency with other high quality sushi. The ramen however was pretty disappointing. The ramen arrived to the table and contained more vegetables than noodles. The vegetables looked almost like iceberg lettuce I would get from a cafeteria salad bar. The soup base was very bland and had little flavor. My girlfriend got avocado rolls and a bento box with tempura. The tempura was pretty good and the avocado rolls were great. It really seems this place is hit or miss depending on what you order. This restaurant just opened up within walking distance of my house, so I am happy about that since I love Japanese food. When I got there, they were quite overwhelmed with customers, which might have effected the quality to some degree. I got a chicken teriyaki bento box, which included chicken, rice, a small salad, vegetable tempura, and four pieces of a California roll. Everything tasted good, but there was way too much teriyaki sauce, which completely saturated the white rice. Also, the chicken was quite dried out and over-cooked, although tasty. The salad had a nice ginger dressing, but the lettuce was a bit wilted, and the rolls were a bit warm and stale tasting, which might have been because the temperature inside the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. And, the sweet potato tempura was undercooked and crunchy inside. My impression was that all these shortcomings were the result of too many people coming all at once. I will definitely be returning and will update my review if quality improves. I'm really rooting for their success! read more

Very friendly, fast service. This isn't the place to go if you're looking for high quality sushi, but for a quick and inexpensive sushi fix it will do. The rolls and moderately sized but could use more sushi in them. I ordered the spicy tuna and it was decent but could benefit from more spice. Returning from Las Vegas nearing Prescott close to 6 pm I checked yelp for a good noodle shop. To my surprise I found the Koko Grill serving Pho, Sushi and Korean food a trifecta that kicked my taste buds into overdrive. As we drove up I was dubious on whether we had arrived too late but the cook waived us in with enthusiasm. We ordered pho, ramen noodles and shoju and the order was delivered quickly by the owner Lena who was attentive, friendly and hospitable making sure we knew we could take our time and enjoy the food without feeling pressured to leave like other establishments who would rather not serve at closing time. Lena has been so successful she's considering opening a grill in Cottonwood which is in desperate need of quality Asian food. To be sure the grill is not a sexy place but the food is heart warming stuff and the service is equal to the best grill your own family might own and we will definitely enjoy her food again and again. read more

Amazing flavors! Tried the Bento Box with teriyaki chicken and it was very very tasty. Love the smooth and light sauce packed with flavor. Chicken yakisoba was also great! I love that they have a variety of sauces out to add more to your dishes. Also appreciate that everything you need is on the table. Order at the counter and have a seat. Tonight we had the orange chicken, tonkatsu ramen, the honeymoon roll and gyoza. We got it to go. The ramen was a nice big helping but it wasn't very flavorful at all. It needed salt or veggies or something. The honeymoon roll was okay but the raw tuna was a bit gummy. The orange chicken was super delicious but the portion size was super small. The staff here are amazing! A busy Sat nite and they were rockin it!!! Sushi and appetizers were great and they have a decent selection of basic wines. Very fair prices for the fresh food they are serving!! On our list to definitely go back and try more rolls!! The owner made rounds to each table while we were there checking on everyone and their food. We ate here for the first time and were very pleased. The restaurant seating followed CDC guidelines and the staff wore masks. The menu offered a huge assortment of sushi, udon, ramen and bento boxes. My wife ordered chicken and shrimp teriyaki with sides of veggies and miso soup. I ordered pho with shrimp. Shame on anyone who has reviewed this place and put it on the same level as Fuji! We went tonight as a last minute option because it was my daughter's birthday and I didn't realize Fujiyama was closed on Mondays. And because Yelp doesn't usually fail me I saw this place had 4 stars so I thought awesome, another sushi restaurant in Prescott that has good reviews....NEVER Again! I'm literally typing from the toilet (gross I know...but since I'll probably be here all night from that meal, I might as well multitask!) I felt bad my birthday girl was missing out on her favorite dinner so I told her to order whatever she wanted. There were six of us and I paid $200.00 after tip. We tried a lot of different food and every single thing we tried SUCKED! The only thing that was edible was the edamame. The jalapeño bombs were flavorless, the white tail was chewy, the teriyaki chicken was drenched in sauce, the egg rolls were blah, the tiger roll was boring, and the tempura was so greasy and bland. But the absolute worst was the volcano roll. I'm a sucker for baked scallops. But this abomination should be outlawed! Picture a hot California roll, yes you heard me correctly, hot cucumbers and hot avocado topped with mayo and about 6 tiny scallops. If you are considering trying this place because Fujiyama is closed, do yourself a favor and just go to Applebee's or McDonalds. read more
