With parking just across the street, an onsite concession stand, CLEAN permanent bathrooms, a great sound system, lights, a nicely manicured infield and outfield, 250' fences and both uncovered bleachers down the lines and covered seating behind the plate, this is one of the nicer places we've played that wasn't turf. I was truly glad to see that a city was willing to put money into a quality softball facility and not just a baseball facility that they could alter to use for softball. The field is a bit farther away than I'd like for a small softball tournament, but it's not TOO bad...only a little more than an hour from us. I only wish the girls would have walked away with a little hardware from this tournament, but it just wasn't meant to be. I am pretty obsessive when it comes to visiting a venue like this for the first time. And it was…read morealmost impossible to find good reviews so I thought I would share in case it helps somebody else. As far as parking, I had a lot of people helping me by telling me that street parking wasn't really hard to find, you just have to get there at a reasonable time if you want to be closer. We actually arrived later than I wanted to, maybe 20 minutes before the event and we still were pretty close. I kept reading about a giant hill that you had to walk up to get to the seats and I didn't understand until I got there. So if you park on a street near the "bottom" entrance of the stadium, when you enter, you climb a steep paved path to get to the higher rows of bleachers. If you're sitting in the first 15 bleachers starting from the field, though, you can simply just walk around the track from where you enter and walk up the steps. If you park in street parking that's at the "top" of the stadium (we chose to park on West Chew St between 22nd-20th) then when you enter and show your tickets, you're in a good position to walk down to the higher bleachers. I am the idiot who parked near the top of the stadium and had to walk 21 rows down (with a knee problem and no rail to hold onto) to our Section E, 9th row seats. The bathrooms are not as bad as I had read, they're near the top and bottom entrances and I didn't find them particularly difficult to get to either from the top of the stadium, or walking along the bottom of the track. We were there for the DCI event and there were also lots of portable bathrooms that were easy to use. I brought a stadium seat that had armrests on it and didn't have any problem using it, but I can see that if you are in a section that is completely packed out and you are in the middle of that section, it might get dicey because it's so crowded. I was on the aisle, and my son was sitting next to me so it was fine. I saw some other people using the same kind of chairs without problems, but again they were not in sections that were completely packed with people. But I will say that, even though our entire section was not packed out, there was a point at which there were people in front of me and behind me plus my son sitting next to me and I was still able to easily use the chair. I was told beforehand that those chairs were not allowed in the stadium, but when I got there, nobody was saying anything to anyone who had them. And speaking of sections, I think next time I will still choose seats in E (or K). They're right next to the premium center sections, but still close enough to center to be well placed and not nearly as crowded. However, I will pick higher row of bleachers (between 20-25) to get an even better view. Although where we sat was perfectly fine as well, and maybe the sound was better? All in all, we had a very positive experience , and look forward to returning.

The park is home to a public swimming pool and follows along a stream which is good for fishing. Street parking is your only option and can be challenging when the park is busy. The park contains four tennis courts, a baseball field, three softball fields, soccer fields, and a jogging/walking trail. The park is also home to a community garden. Ample parking is available. While it's only the 2nd AAA minor league ballpark I've been to, it ranks up there with my prior AAA ballpark experience at Coca Cola Park in Allentown in terms of quality. The location of the ballpark on Montage Mountain is perfect for a nice summer breeze. There is ample parking ($8 charge) in the lots adjacent to the stadium, but arrive early as the roads leading to the stadium do get pretty backed up, with the local Moosic police department directing traffic off the main road before and after games. There was a nice mix of Yankees and Mets fans in attendance for a match up against the Syracuse Mets (and a lone Red Sox fan which seemed a bit lost/out of place...lol). PNC Field is modern and welcoming, with nice open concourse areas, plenty of concession stands, multiple kids play areas, a picnic table area in left field, and some lawn seating beyond the outfield. Both the team store and concession stands were overpriced, but expectedly in-line with prices found at other minor league ballparks. Some concession stands do offer regionally local food, including Philadelphia area favorite Chickies & Pete's, and their crab fries. A few concession stands had no lines, while others like the Electric City Grill seemed understaffed, with extremely slow-moving lines. The team store I felt was a bit small and cramped, with limited shirt selection and lack of any budget-friendly merchandise. Staff I encountered throughout the stadium was friendly and engaging, and the promotional team did a great job keeping fans entertained between innings. Overall, I'd rate PNC Field a 4.5/5 minor league ballpark experience, and I could see myself catching multiple games a year if I lived locally. I'd recommend a visit to PNC Field if you're in the Scranton area and wanting to take in a baseball game.

Food is always excellent when it's free, but it was. The weather cleared up and we got to see the game. The stadium seems pretty clean Considering the crowd. Even so with the bathrooms. Maybe you should come and take your kids since your cost is going to be much cheaper than a major league game. Ticket prices average $20 apiece for adults, less for children and maybe free for certain kids under age. A typical baseball atmosphere, quite enjoyable. We got free parking, but there is a $5 fee to park. My friend is a member of a charity and we got perks.
