This is crazy! I have tried for two months to reach her. Today I even had an appointment made on her online calendar that showed appointment availability for the first two weeks of August. She is a no show and through the window the front office is in a state disorganized and almost appears abandoned. I wish I could leave a zero rating, but it won't allow you to. On April 9th, my wife and I met with Angelina to complete our tax return for 2023. Initially, I had been trying to get in contact with her for 3 weeks to schedule a day to come in and get it done. She did not respond at all. On April 8th, I went to her office and she agreed to see us the next day. We completed the return with her, both our personal taxes and taxes for my wife's business. She said that everything was done and filed with the appropriate agencies. We paid her for the services and just awaited our refunds. 4 weeks goes by and we had not heard anything regarding our taxes. I attempted to contact her by phone but got zero response. I again stopped by her office on May 10th to ask about our return. She seemed irritated that I would show up to the office to speak with her. I told her that we had checked the IRS website and it said no return was being processed. She assured me that the tax return had indeed been filed and that she would check on the return status and get back to me later that day. Fast forward another 2 weeks, now 6 weeks out from the initial meeting, and I have still never heard back from her. I contacted DOTAX to see if they even had record of our 2023 return being e-filed and they stated that they had nothing for this year. Needless to say I am pretty ticked off about this. She charged us over $300 for the processing of the return, which has already cleared our bank, but I now find out that our taxes were never even e-filed. I've left additional messages on her phone and really don't expect a response from her. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR TAX PREPARATION. read more

Angeline did our taxes for the last few years and at first she was wonderful. I wanted to keep working with her as she seemed kind and helpful but the last two years she would disappear and not return calls. At one point I was calling and stopping by her office weekly without any response. Taxes are a stressful process and this made them even worse. She even had to file an exception but then did that late. At one point we though we were waiting on our return but she never even filed them. It all worked out in the end but I can no longer trust Angelina. The first time she disappeared I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but two year in a row was too much! read more

If it were possible to give no stars, or negative stars, I'd be a lot happier. It is not in my nature to leave negative reviews - and I thought about this for some time, before concluding that I'd be doing a disservice to folks that rely on reviews to make decisions. In fact, to my regret, the good reviews I read for this person's business was a key factor in my selecting her to do my taxes. My CPA and EA both moved off island. I'm from Hilo where the choices for a new CPA were slim and I chose to go outside my area to Kona. In Sept of 2021, well in advance of the tax season, I drove over to meet Angelina, to see if we were compatible and to get a better understanding of what she could do for me. I left her with a copy of my taxes from the previous year. She assured me that there was not anything she couldn't do for me. Taxes? Absolutely. S-Corp? No problem. She even offered to help me with my website... which admittedly, I thought was strange, but I let it go. We spoke on the phone a little later and she felt everything was straight forward, she could the taxes come the new year, and even told me she'd found a mistake my former preparers had missed... and that was the last time I talked to her. Ever. But I didn't know that at the time. I like to get my taxes done ASAP. So when we closed out the year at the end of December, I was emailing Angelina, telling her we were ready. I introduced my bookkeeper to her via that email and asked two or three questions. Crickets. I emailed again and got half an answer to one question and no acknowledgment about the bookkeeper. My bookkeeper then reached out to her directly. Nada. Getting nervous, I contacted her several more times. Nothing. Ever try finding someone to do your taxes (including two businesses) two months before the tax deadline? The stress was unbelievable. My outrage was pretty strong, too. How does a professional make a commitment to another and then just drop the ball? This woman tried to promise me the moon - and she couldn't even return an email and say I'm sorry, I cannot help you. Please know that I am not just some person that feels slighted and decided to anonymously slam some unsuspecting person. I have been in business since 2010. I am real and this situation did happen to me - and I do not want it to happen to anyone else. At the last minute this year, I found a savior in Liberty Tax. They took me in and did a wonderful job. I was able to file at the last minute.... I never want to go through that again. As for the supposed mistake Angelina found? She was wrong. As for the copy of my taxes I gave her? Unfortunately, I've run into the same issue many other reviewers have mentioned. After paying for the initial service, Angela no longer responds. Her office is never open, her mailbox is full, and she doesn't reply to emails. I recommend staying away and finding someone else. read more

Angelina was our accountant for several years. We found her via Yelp. Her rating was pretty low and contained a mix of positive reviews, but also many negative reviews stating that she disappeared, flaked or ghosted her clients. We were relatively desperate due to few choices in Kona. So we met with her and she was great, did a great job on taxes and was knowledgeable. The next year, same thing. She was great. During the year we contacted her several times regarding tax related issues and she was responsive and helpful. Several months ago we reached out via email to start the 2021 tax process. No response. I emailed her probably 5 times. When i called there was no response and her mailbox was full. We had to scramble to find another accountant and start everything over. Angelina did a great job helping me with my 2021 tax returns. I moved to Kailua Kona from the mainland last year but the moving company lost some of my boxed files. I was very nervous because I had sold my house in Silicon Valley in 2021and would have to pay capital gains taxes on the profit of that sale minus improvements and exemptions. Since much of the proof of the improvements I had made on that house over 28 years was lost Angelina asked many questions and wisely had me take several days to think back through those many years and make a list of the improvements that I could recall. No doubt that suggestion from her saved me from having to pay thousands more in capital gains taxes. I am so impressed with Angelina of Kona Tax Plus. I moved here to Kona via Florida after only being in Florida for 4 months. But I had lived in Malibu Calif for my entire life. So it was complicated to manage all three states and the different tax laws. Absolute joke of a company. No communications, Had taxes for months and did not get them filed. Said they had gotten an extension but hadn't . Missed state taxes and payroll taxes. Cost me lots of money in fines and hiring someone to correct. Almost cost me my company. read more

Aloha, this year because we started receiving some of our retirement money it was a little different than Normal years! Plus Hawaii taxes differently than in other states. So we felt it was better to go to a professional specializing in taxes rather than chance making big mistakes using an on line site! We were so glad we did! I called In the morning and was told to come in noon that day! We were greeted by Angelina who walked us into her office! We spent about 1 1/2 hours going through tax information, questions, and paperwork! Angelina thoroughly went through our tax situation and explained in detail how we could adjust our deductions to make the numbers work in our favor!
