It is made with a buttery hazelnut crust and currants. Not raspberries like I have always seen on the knock-offs. (Although admittedly, those are pretty good too....no harm, no foul......they just aren't really what linzer tortes really are.) Anyhow, it's a busy little shop and we had a private section upstairs to enjoy our coffee. Our guide told us to put the little chocolate in the coffee too. Even though I usually like my coffee black, I obliged. When in Rome..... My only regret is not buying one to take home with me. I heard they travel and keep very well.

Mario's Romanian Brezel (Pretzel) Shop is a perfect place to enjoy some Romanian street food. And why not try the classic pretzel or Brezel or as I know it - 'the Covrig'. These are real Covrigi like you would find in Bucharesti or Braov. I love the poppy seed (mohn) topping. This little store is only minutes from the Krems main train and bus stations and right off of the pedestrian Landstraße. I wish Vienna had a Romanian Covrigi shop!

They change up the flavours every day so there's always something new. Avocado toast for brunch was also great. It was always a little busy when I visited, but if you can get a table I do recommend trying the food. The staff were friendly. Everyone that I talked to spoke English and could help with questions about the available flavours.

It seems to be the biggest hit in Tábor and that comes as no surprise. Although I didn't get to try anything on the menu (aside from coffee, which was also delicious), everything looked beautiful and I'm sure it tasted that way too. Definitely do not miss this place; it needs to be on everyone's to-do list.
