We pop in here whenever we eat at The Bistro or grab something to go from Kilauea Bakery. Cute shop with clothing, jewelry, books, cards, and decor items. Lots of Asian flavored ceramics and a small kids' section in the back. I will usually buy one of their beautiful cards to send back to the mainland. We have also bought a couple of gorgeous obi and a kimono. The nice ladies behind the register are very low-key but will always help you if you have questions. read more

10/17/23 We're just shopping around for that tile or whatever media it will be on-s sign that says, "Mahalo for removing your slippahs" or something to that effect. We thought that this shop would've certainly had it. Nope. In any case, there plenty of noteworthy items such as gift ideas: shirts, purses, kimonos, candles, soaps, perfumes, Hawaiian shirts, tea sets, greeting cards & post cards, jewelry, baby clothes, etc. These are all lovely to see if you love looking at pretty things. Of course, a but pricey (par for the course in Kaua'i). Staff are friendly. The lady at the counter who was crafting a handmade ribbon lei said I might find it at the Ace Hardware store in Princeville-where we are staying about 3-4 minutes away. Ha! Really nice store for top end clothes and gifts. Check out the kimonos in the alcove room on the left as you enter. Gorgeous. Average price $600. Inventory is way nicer than the typical tourist trinkets you find in Princeville/ Hanalei. Recommended. Shop here for a high quality souvenir. read more

The items here are so unique and beautifully displayed. I had been search on island for a morning kimono and had not been successful. They have a huge display of a variety of kimonos. They have lovely kitchen ware and books and papers of quality for wrapping or framing. Stop in highly recommend then go have pizza to tie for in the same set of unique shops. Small and unique shopping area. Kung Lung Trading has a unique selection of decorative and household items, toys plus some clothing. Coconut Style has gorgeous fabrics used for clothing and bedding. The bedspreads, duvets, shams are dreamy art. Lotus Gallery is as much an art gallery as it is a shop. Beautiful items for heart and home. The grounds between the shops are really lovely. This was a cute little shop to browse through. They had all kinds of unique goods which were all way overpriced. The staff virtually ignored us -not even a hello. Even the resident dog ignored us. Since the atmosphere was so cold and everything 3 times more expensive than it should be, I didn't stay long. read more

This is a true ZERO, but Yelp doesn't allow zero. Overpriced. Woman with crazy orange hair glares at patrons. I was in today and felt very unwelcome. I am happy to see that they removed the hand sanitizer that was at the door with a sign to 'use before touching merchandise.' I am not sure they really want to sell anything. Oh, BTW use restroom before going to Kong Lung as there is some crazy fight going on between the landlord and the merchants which has resulted in some rather unpleasant and usually locked porta-potties. This use to be a nice place to shop, but over the last couple of years has become a place to avoid. I miss the old Kong Lung...it has been many years since I truly enjoyed shopping and buying from them. Save your money and spend it in a place where it is appreciated and you feel welcome. read more

This little shopping village is easy to find if you're on the way to the Kilauea Lighthouse. Otherwise it's not visible from the main highway. Gift shops, art store, candle shop, restaurant, bakery, deli. Lots of local items to browse through. It's an excellent stop on the way to Princeville and Hanalei. read more

Certainly this store is not for everyone. But for me, it is my favorite store in all of Hawaii. I travel to Kauai every year or so and Patty's shop is at the top of my list! Patty has exquisite taste and she offers a remarkable collection of high quality items , many with an Asian aesthetic. Do your homework...if you are looking for an inexpensive souvenir of your stay in Kauai, this is probably not the place for you to shop and you probably will be uncomfortable in these surroundings. Because many of Patty's times are fragile, I would not recommend shopping there with your kids. Do not however begrudge the store for offering items that appeal to other buyers. There are a number of farmers' markets and gift kiosks throughout the island that offer made in Kauai gifts...the one at Spouting Horn is nice as is the outdoor marketplace in old town Waimea. You may want to consider taking home a coffee sampler (Costco or Kauai Coffee) or honey. The gift shop at the Kauai Museum in Lihue has nice things for kids and adults alike. The National Tropical Botanical Garden has a very nice and varied gift shop with Kauai made items. read more

Small but oh god the pizza place is AWESOME!!!

Not a very kid or parent friendly store. I was looking around the store with my husband and two kids and gave my son an overpriced toy that I was going to buy him to keep him occupied in the stroller while I looked. After a couple minutes he threw the toy on the ground and started throwing a bit of a fit. While I was trying to settle him down and get him entertained with something else the lady with crazy red/purple hair working in the store very rudely asked if we are going to purchase the toy and then pointed out that my son had put his mouth on the toy. I assured her we were going to buy the toy. I felt so uncomfortable after she asked me that. I feel she must not have kids and not understand what parents go through while shopping with kids, or even proper sales etiquette (be nice to the customer). I also want to point out that they have a dog that roams around their store and I can tell you that my son's mouth is very much cleaner than that dog's. Very hypocritical in my opinion and unkind. Would not shop at that store again. Do not go to the store if you have kids or grandkids, they obvoiusly don't like kids, even though they have a kids section! lol read more

These five stars are for a little shop called One Love and it's attached to Kung Lung Trading (I thought they were the same store). The jewelry, women's clothing and other items are beautifully displayed and it is enjoyable browsing around. A woman named Tili works there and she is just about the nicest person you could imagine. She went the extra mile to track down a ring my daughter picked out, but was sold before I could buy it. Excellent customer service with extra kindness and good feelings every step of the way. Kong lung is a great store. My family and I shop there all the time. But the dark haired lady that works there is a customer service nightmare. Don't bother returning anything. She'll roll her eyes and treat you like you're putting her out. I think tourists can be ridiculous and rude and I can understand that someone might get tired of that. But geeeez. I was immediately made to feel that I had done something wrong. Fail on customer service. Sad. read more

If you're looking for Hawaiian tourist items, this store is not for you. But if you're looking for unusual gifts that you're not likely to find elsewhere, this store is the best! They have a wide variety: jewelry, shirts, beautiful books, unusual note and greeting cards, dishes and serving items, chopsticks and sake cups, and much much more. Even though I don't have kids or grandkids, I love browsing their children's section of books, educational toys, and adorable plush animals. The staff is friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about their products. I live about 5 miles away from this store. Whenever I have guests here from the mainland and other countries, this is always one of our stops. If you're heading to the Kilauea Lighthouse, it is right on your way. So stop by and enjoy browsing their selection. In summary: don't expect Hawaiian tourist tchachkas, but do expect to find high-quality unusual gifts. read more
