Most of the stores has more reasonable prices because they sell samples or last season/last year editions. Sometimes you get lucky and they even have something on sale from this season. Either way, it is a great place to check out if you are looking for good deals, especially on outdoor clothing items such as jackets for skiing, hiking and biking! Obviously these things are still pricy however you do end up saving money. I have only traveled here by car, but according to another review in Norwegian and friends, there are busses available from Oslo. Not sure of buss prices however you definitely need to plan ahead to make sure you catch the right bus home!

The store is based on voluntarily work and they say the money will go to Oslo and their work here, which sounds just great! The concept: Donate your clothes and tell their story! You have to donate directly to the store. The store has fewer clothes than other second hand stores I have seen but that is part of the concept. The clothes are all clean and ready to be worn. You go to this store to support a good case and to find a piece of second hand that is gently worn has a story to tell. Thus, you find both bikbok and Ferner Jacobsen here, and may find something unique too! The prices were a bith high, but no reason to worry. Even though the pumps are worn by a celebrity, 3000kr is a tad bit more than I am willing to pay. However, maybe you are? It seems they focus on high end clothes,vintage and known brands? Moreover, they have a design section where the clothes are more pricy. They have a couple clothing racks with just Norwegian hams knits. I bought a great long cardigan/sweater coat - hand knit wool - for just $60. All other sweaters ranged about $50-$60 which I think is a great price. The rest of the selection of other vintage items in the store I wasn't too crazy about - but I'm comparing to vintage stores in NYC and Brooklyn. Store itself is nice and clean and all merchandise is nicely organized. There's another vintage store in the area called Uff. I liked Fretex more. Bur in general both of these stores are more like thrift shops rather than true vintage.

This past Christmas was different. I ordered a sweater and paid for gift wrapping. The sweater arrived before Christmas and was of good quality. Unfortunately, the sweater was not gift wrapped. While the lack of gift wrapping was not a big deal, I had paid extra for it, so I requested a refund of the gift wrapping fee on 21 December. I was informed the company would respond within 24 hours. Ten days later, there was no response, so I sent the request again on 31 December. Ten days later, the company sent the shipping tracking number. I was not questioning the shipping; the goods had been received. For the third time over more than three weeks, I requested a refund of the gift wrapping fee. While the fee was finally refunded, I received no response from the company at all. The true measure of a company is how they respond when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, Oslo Sweater Shop has no commitment to customer service.

I felt like I didn't have much privacy.
