My iphone took me right where I needed to be, even after I left the paved road. The dirt road was no problem for a regular car, 4x4 is not necessary. Hannah was extremely helpful, answering all my numerous and crazy questions both before and after I registered. (Including tech help as I am not a computer person) Natalie is a most generous teacher sharing her knowledge and experience. I look forward to being her student again. WIld Abundance is an outdoor school, not a square building made of steel and glass. I camped on site and there is an outdoor kitchen for everyones use. I loved every minute of my time there.

I nearly literally stumbled upon Elizabeth's studio in Riverview Station. I saw the work of the…read moreartist next door at Woolworth's Walk earlier in the week, and was peeking into the studio to see what was in her studio. Another artist who I'd purchased a piece from passed me in the hallway and mentioned Elizabeth's work, which is beautiful; like a fairy tale. I returned the following day and Elizabeth's studio happened to be open so I stopped in. Wow. I'm gobsmacked by Elizabeth's talent and how evocative her work is. The one piece I was able to see most clearly the day before was incredibly large and took up most of the wall facing the glass door, so I was so pleased to be able to go inside and see more. She has cards, prints of various sizes (most or all of them mounted to mat board), and when I was there framed and unframed pieces. She was working on something when I stopped in and it was neat to see her at work. She is warm and welcoming, and told me a bit about the work she's doing and the colors and elements that have been coming up in her work of late. I found two pieces in particular that I wanted (well... I wanted more, but one was a commission and one was more than I could comfortably afford at the moment), both quite different, but beautifully framed. The frame itself is a work of art, to be quite honest, and sets off the paintings beautifully. In the end, I wasn't able to decide between the two and took both of them. I spent more than I had intended to be sure, but I don't regret it one bit. Adding to my excitement is that these are the first pieces of original artwork I've ever owned! I can't wait to get them up in my home. I really appreciate Elizabeth being so generous with her time and giving me some insight into her background and process. It makes it more personal to me, and I'm so pleased to be able to enjoy her beautiful work. I'd love to commission a piece from her one day to complement the magic of these pieces. If you visit her you won't be disappointed, but you may leave with your wallet a bit lighter.

The school helped me form good study habits, encouraged me to achieve my highest potential, and provided me with a supportive community. ACS gave me the foundation I needed to get into a great private high school and eventually excel in college. The relationships I established at ACS have survived the test of time. I am still friends with many of the kids I went to 1st grade with! One of the most important things ACS taught me was to not fear my teachers. I quickly learned how much teachers want to help, and how much they can help. I loved my teachers, many of whom are still there today. Clearly, they love what they do. Asheville has some wonderful Public schools, but Asheville Catholic is a fantastic alternative for parents seeking more than just a school. ACS offers a vibrant, nurturing community.
