I have taken two courses at Wild Abundance now, the Basic and Advanced Women's Carpentry courses and I couldn't have been any happier with my experience! The instructors are amazingly patient and knowledgeable, the program was designed and executed very well, and registration (including partial work trade) was simple and easy! I learned so many skills that I have been able to utilize on my farm since the courses, and I intend to go back and take more courses this year too. The lunch was delicious, the setting is beautiful, and the camaraderie among classmates is so sweet. I couldn't say enough good things about this organization and my experience there!! The place is a little off the beaten path (which is how I prefer my weekends away), but directions were very clear and there are many beautiful hand painted signs pointing you in the right direction the whole time, so its unfortunate for Barbara B that she had so much trouble, but I found it with no trouble at all!! read more

I took an intensive Permaculture Design Course through Wild Abundance and it was awesome! The instructors are incredibly genuine and knowledgable and provided a very appreciated dose of real world experience and context. Natalie, Laura, and all of the staff I got to work with were incredibly accommodating, respectful, and fun to learn from. The school itself is a beautiful and functional small permaculture homestead community about 25 minutes from Asheville and easy to find if you have a map app and the most basic navigational skills. A permaculture design course is a big investment of money and time and I am very grateful and satisfied that I chose Wild Abundance. Got well more than my money's worth. I made a lot of friends there who have taken various other classes they offer and I've heard nothing but great things. read more

This place is so beautiful and feels like the kind of place you can come to learn a little bit (or a lot!) about everything! I took a couple women's carpentry classes last summer & walked away with a wealth of incredibly valuable information & experiences. I'm very much looking forward to taking more classes with them in the future. And yes, it's sweetly nestled off the beaten path, but that's explicitly stated on their website and they provide pretty stellar & easy-to-follow written directions. Wild Abundance is an amazing nature based school! No matter what class you take there (I've taken about 5) you always get to engage with wonderful teachers and meet like minded people. The connection to the beautiful land and Nature on the property alone is worth a trip out there, not to mention the beautiful garden space that greets you before the gorgeous, handcrafted, and accommodating outdoor kitchen. I had a wonderful experience at the Women's Basic Carpentry class in Autumn 2019. Effort was made to create a sense of community among the women and that made it very engaging and motivational. The environment is inspiring, with living and lived-in examples of the types of projects you're gaining skills to do on your own among a community of people living a true permaculture ethos. It's a lot of information but delivered in a digestible way, with care being given to ensure everyone is on the same page. read more

As a local farmer/homesteader I've gotten the chance to teach for several of Wild Abundance classes. It's always a pleasure. The administration is clear, organized, and clearly inspired about what they do. The students are always super inspired and I love meeting them. In fact, I've often decided to stay and have lunch with the class after teaching just because it's such a nice vibe. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to spend several months with these folks in working through the Permaculture and Earthskills Immersion this past year. A total waste of time and money. You will basically spend an exorbitant amount of money to sit in the woods and learn super basic stuff you could get from YouTube or blog posts. The people who run the organization are radical feminists, so you can expect the typical tripe. They ask y for your pronouns, just stupid non-sense all around read more
