We were looking for someone with the same mentality and ability to get things done. We interviewed with a few other coordinators about 6 months ago leading up to our selection of Carolyn. Carolyn was different - we could tell that she knew what she was doing and wasn't going to bore us with repeated questionnaires and minute details. I distinctly remember her saying "You shouldn't have to worry about anything the day of, things WILL go wrong, but it's my job to make sure its handled" - this is what sold me on her. Carolyn was easy to talk to via email, calls, texts and in person meetings. We had a lot of vendors so it definitely wasn't an easy task for her, but she kept up with everything Venue, photographer, caterer, DJ/photobooth, party rentals....all handled without a hitch. Our wedding went smooth and everyone had a great time. Not to mention that I was 6 1/2 months pregnant which made everything a little slower because I could only handle so much at a time. When it came to finding a DJ for the wedding, I didn't want just anyone; I wanted someone who could MC for us as well, and who had done weddings before. By the time that I decided to book, it was no more than a month until the wedding. I decided to book with JR and his wife -- (if you have the option to work with both, DO IT! Seriously. They've been working events together for a while and they know each others cues so well it helps everything run so smoothly! Mary helped us out so much, I couldn't imagine having my wedding without her. She made sure everything was running on schedule and kept everyone focused ultimately taking all of the stress off of me) We had to work hard and fast in order to get all the music selected, and we were definitely harder to work with because of the rush, but JR did so amazing working this miracle! (He has all of his own equipment, so you don't have to worry about someone showing up with just an iPod to do your event) He was able to read the crowd and get them engaged in every event we had going in the reception. It was hard for my husband and I to pick dancing music since we hadn't been to any clubs lately with the pregnancy, But JR had it all covered! Without her by my side, I really don't know how it would have all came together. Niangi is passionate about her work as a planner. She has an eye for design, is very forthright and honest about what is doable under the set budget, and will be as flexible as possible to make everything just as you want it to be on your special day. For me, I wanted to have a large scale wedding (about 275 people) at the lowest cost possible. This was not an easy task! Planning can be very stressful, but Niangi stepped up and took care of finding and booking rentals and vendors based on our needs. Her ability to connect and network with others in the wedding industry helped me find an affordable photo booth, caterer, mariachi, and rental company. Niangi also walked me through the design aspect, and we came up with a color scheme that was simple, beautiful, and affordable (lots of natural greens and whites). I think it is Niangi's passion and drive that makes her a wonderful choice as a wedding planner. She makes things happen and always makes herself available to her clients. I also really appreciate all the times she came to me with solutions and how quick she was on her feet. For example, on my wedding night the margarita machine that we rented for the bar broke down. She was quick to round up the bartenders and update to the drink menu. Soon enough, my guests were drinking "the best" strawberry margaritas they've ever had lol. I appreciated the quick problem solving, and the fact I didn't notice a thing! My wedding day was beautiful, and our guests had a wonderful time. Our experience with Niangi and Alore Vaye started off promising when we hired her nine months…read morebefore our wedding. She appeared confident and assured us she could handle all our requests. She impressed us with her organization skills, using detailed Excel sheets to manage timelines, vendors, and shopping lists. Niangi accompanied us to tour our venue, caterer tastings, and even joined us to recreate a favorite drink with our bartender. However, our optimism quickly faded on the actual day of our wedding. During our ceremony, Niangi seemed overwhelmed and stressed, which unfortunately reflected in her work throughout the day. Details we had meticulously planned were overlooked. Despite discussing and agreeing on family seating arrangements the night before, Niangi's oversight led to our families being placed on the wrong sides. This forced us into an awkward last-minute adjustment coming down the aisle. The most heartbreaking moment came when we discovered the memorial piece to be placed on a seat to honor my wife's late grandmother was missing. Niangi couldn't find it and decided to move forward with us walking down the aisle with it missing, without our approval. Moving to the reception, her team was running behind and the lack of coordination became apparent. We faced issues like guests waiting in their cars due to a closed gate that her team neglected to open promptly. Once inside, guests were left without direction or welcoming. There was confusion about when guests could enter and enjoy the games we had out. When it was time for our grand entrance, guests were scattered, contrary to our planned two-line formation with champagne glasses for a toast. Niangi failed to instruct guests or ensure they had their glasses in hand, resulting in us not being able to do our grand entrance toast. Remnants from our lunch ceremony were still left out when reception guests arrived, a testament to the lack of cleanup and preparation. Additionally, despite our efforts in purchasing decorations like pool decorations with floating boards, none of it was set up. Because of Niangi's late arrival on rental delivery day, we ended up with wrong or janky items. If she had been there to do a quality check, we wouldn't have been charged for the subpar items. Several of our friends and family members reported instances where Niangi displayed a dismissive and unprofessional attitude when approached for assistance. It was disheartening to hear these comments from our loved ones, especially since we had entrusted her with such an important day. Upon returning from our honeymoon, we received feedback from multiple guests about the disorganization and unprofessional conduct at our wedding. This feedback was embarrassing for us, as we had hoped for a seamless and memorable celebration. Despite Niangi's team, particularly the bartender Renee, receiving praise for their kindness and attentiveness, it does not overshadow the overall disappointment we feel. Niangi overpromised, underdelivered, and overcharged. We feel obligated to share our experience to caution future couples.

I picked out many of the vendors, but going over options with Kristen and brainstorming helped a lot. I didn't need as much help as probably the average person does while planning a wedding, but the things that Kristen helped with the day of and weeks before were crucial in having our wedding go as well as it did. Honestly, I think it would have been a mess without her. And furthermore, Kristen is a trooper. A few weeks or so before our wedding she actually broke her shoulder, and she still managed to get everything done: floral (as she was also our florist), basically all the decorating, picking up our cake, dealing with the wine glasses and serving people, day-of planning, and much more. She had hired an extra person to help as well, who was very wonderful to work with too. Kristen is full of ideas and she knows how to get things done. She does take on a lot of things at once, but everything got done that needed to, despite the challenges. Thank you Kristen for all your help on making our wedding day beautiful and run smoothly. As a matron of honor in a wedding in May of this year, I can say that that's not what happened with Kristen. As soon as the bride and I showed up for the rehearsal, she asked if she could just run through the rehearsal real quickly with the bride because she had to go pick up her dog from the groomer, which was a 45 minute drive away. She should have coordinated the grooming appointment or the pick up time to work properly with when rehearsal was. Rehearsal was at 4 PM and she needed to pick her dog up by five. Rehearsals take at least half an hour and the rehearsal needs to include everybody in the wedding so that everyone knows where to stand,what to do ,and how the whole process is going to go- especially since every venue and every wedding is different.If just the bride needed to run through the rehearsal, then there wouldn't be a rehearsal in general because the bride is already doing all the planning and coordinating for the day anyway. Kristen also then told the bride that she wouldn't be able to show up the day of the wedding until her dog sitter came. Although this might be a valid point, that's not really the brides concern, and mostly came off as if she wasn't going to be there on time and wasn't prepared to actually be there when she needed to be there on the day of the wedding. Having a dog sitter and having the sitter show up at the right time so you can be at the venue when needed is a behind the scenes detail that doesn't need to be shared. About five minutes into rehearsal starting and while the officiant was talking to the bride and groom, Kristen looked at me and said "you got this right? I have to leave" and then left without saying goodbye to the bride and groom or asking if there was anything else needed. On the day of, she completely ruined a surprise for the groom by announcing it, and talking about it literally right in front of the groom before he was supposed to know about it. The mother of the bride and a sister in law had to pick up her slack on more than a few occasions during the reception, which defeats the purpose of having her. Family of wedding party should not have to be pouring water and champagne. And while that might not be Kristen's exact job either, she should have delegated that task to someone who is supposed to do it. But the thing that really got me the most was that Kristen decided that a great time to talk to the bride about a change in the timeline was during the middle of the father of the bride speech. I know things have to change and the concern was about losing sun for sunset pictures. But really? Tapping the bride on the shoulder as her father is making eye contact with her and basically talking to her during his speech? Worst timing ever and completely took away from the moment for the father and bride. She was rude to one of the other vendors and told them that she was "so over this wedding" and then left in such a hurry that she was not mindful of guests while driving off in the parking lot. This was just the few things I witnessed and can account for. It was not professional at all and honestly made the wedding a lot more stressful than it needed to be.

She was organized, detailed, diligent, responsive, and a great personality who was a pleasure to work with. We hired her for the "month-of" coordination package, where we set up all of our own vendors and contracts and she took over 6 weeks prior to our wedding date to finalize the details and provide rehearsal and day-of coordination. Her package was VERY reasonably priced compared to other coordinators, most who charged more for day-of coordination than she did for 6 weeks of coordination. Jackie was super easy to work with - anything we needed help with, she was there. She communicated with all of our vendors, organized them, put together our day-of timeline, ran our rehearsal, oversaw all of the venue setup and kept our wedding day running smoothly so we and our families could enjoy our wedding without having to worry about anything. She took care of everything so well that we even got to eat at our own wedding - can you believe it?! On top of just being an amazing, organized, levelheaded coordinator, Jaclyn was also able to provide some extra services at a very reasonable cost. She coordinated with our photographer - and between the two of them, they were able to put together an awesome iPad photo "booth" for our guests which only cost us $100 - way cheaper than renting a separate photobooth. Also, her assistant Morgan is a fluent Spanish speaker which was super-helpful because our wedding was bilingual. We would highly recommend Jaclyn's wedding coordination services, and we feel we were really fortunate to have her for such a reasonable cost! Our advice - make sure to book her early. Because she is very conscious about not overextending herself so she can dedicate herself to each wedding or event, she strictly limits the number of weddings/events she will take on.

We hired Jackie as our 'Day of' coordinator as well as for her awesome photo booth. Although she was just coordinating on the 'Day of' Jackie met with me several times before the wedding and was always available via email to answer all of the questions I had. And believe me, I had SO MANY questions. ;) Jackie and her team went above and beyond to ensure we had a flawless wedding day and I appreciate her support so much, I can't even express it. We had a few issues - our DJ cancelled that morning!! - and Jackie stepped up to the plate and helped my fiancé find a replacement who was awesome. Throughout the reception, Jackie ensured we stayed on a timeline and kept things moving along. I heard feedback from guests that they loved how nice she was and how awesome the photo booth was. I collected and made all of my reception decorations, and Jackie set everything perfectly to bring my vision to life. She met with us a couple of days before the event to go over the details of what we would need her to do to set up our house and backyard for the event. She took detailed notes and when we walked into our house, it was exactly as we had discussed with Yvonne. She was on time, kept in touch with us on any concerns and allowed us to feel comfortable knowing that someone very capable was taking care of the set-up. For the price that she quoted us we thought it was good for we were on a budget. The package would be photography and video. Couple of hi -res pictures for framing I guess. She sent the contract and stipulated the poses. Our engagement pictorial didn't push through because of some technicalities (not their fault) but we never had the engagement pictorial which she promised to do after the wedding and we were pretty easy going about it and although I would love to enumerate what went wrong (blogged on my site) I will just state that the time I waited for fulfilment has been stressful and upsetting. On April 29, she emailed me the online gallery link to the pictures. We were excited but it was kind of an installment basis. She would add pictures here and there, and the pictures were mere repetition of one shot. One shot would have 3 different renders and I was not happy because in some of the pictures resolution and hues were just terrible. In fairness, she actually sent me the original files via CD ( and although I have not seen them yet because everything happened while we were transitioning and moving out of state, I am hoping they are good). In the same email (April 29) she said that her videographer was working hard on my video and she asked for at least 4 songs. We waited, we waited and in between she asked for the second time for the songs to be used in the video because she said that her phone was broken or it reset hence lost my text messages. Couple months passed and I followed up on the video and on July 14 (two months later), she sent me an email with the link to my wedding video. ALL 4 minutes of poor edited video sequence with one song, NOT THE SONGS I GAVE HER, but some random song from my husband's band and it was a song for the lead vocal's girlfriend! The videos I made for my wedding was even better in terms of concept and continuity! Okay, trying hard not to taint the wedding with bad memories, we were still pretty easy going about it and I actually requested for the video files instead because I am a non-linear video editor and I wanted so much for the video to be sent to my family overseas. That was July and in between we communicated about how getting the files. She said for me to install google drive only to come back 3 days later and tell me that it was uploading very slowly, etc. We talked about a jump drive and because we were in the middle of selling our house and moving and all that, I was also not pressing too much. In August, I did some free work for her and she kept asking how much. So I said that if she really wanted to pay me, just buy the jumpdrive and mail me the files. Her answer was Amazon takes 2 days to mail the jumpdrive. In September I communicated to her that I was just gonna mail the jump drive when we get to our new house. I just didn't want to take the risk of losing it by sending the files to the old address etc. Finally, On October 29 I texted her to give her the heads up that I was sending the jump drive to her. Her response to me when I told her that I was sending the jump drive was she wasn't gonna get to her mailbox until the end of November because they were going to Hawaii, but she said that if I sent it sooner I should be able to get it back fast enough. Tracking reflected that it was indeed delivered October 31. When I asked her to please expedite her response was she will try, really? On November 5, I texted her and reminded her to send the files soon-NO REPLY. On November 11, I texted again-NO REPLY. On that same day I called her phone and left a message and there is still NO REPLY as of this typing (November 13) " Hire her at your own risk.

As the wedding grew closer, I grew more worried and decided to reach out to a bunch of wedding coordinators to find someone to work on just my wedding day. Most had these ridiculously expensive packages, and I couldn't stomach paying thousands of dollars to have someone do what I had already been doing this whole time. And then I met Nicole Conway. At our first meeting with her, I could tell that she was on the same page as me - super detail orientated, very organized, experienced, practical, and really friendly. It was love at first sight. She walked us through all of the things that she would be responsible for, what we would be responsible for, and gave me productive feedback on all of the things I had already been working on. Best of all, she didn't pressure us into thinking we needed to hire someone. When we left that meeting, my husband and I got in the car and both agreed immediately that we wanted to hire her. We felt confident that she was what we needed to make this last bit of stress go away. Nicole organized our rehearsal at the venue and we ran through the final details of the wedding day the night before. When the wedding day came, I was still anxious, but not as much as I would have been without her. Seeing her face at the beginning of the ceremony really calmed me down because I knew that she had made sure the venue looked exactly how I wanted it to and that she would keep us on track the entire night. She understood my vision for how the event would look and go and made sure to jump through hoops to help achieve it. And everything went off without a hitch! Even when we did have a small situation where I forgot something at the hotel, her assistant did not hesitate to run back down the street and grab it. So amazing! During the reception, Nicole made sure we got to sit down and eat, which I was truly grateful for because our food was amazing and it gave my husband and I a peaceful moment to take everything in (the night really does fly by so quickly!). And even though it wasn't in her job description, she stayed to help us clean up afterward, something I am so incredibly grateful for! She was so helpful and considerate; she didn't leave us high and dry. I honestly don't know what I would have done without Nicole. A million people probably would have tried asking me and my husband logistical questions or questions about timing - it likely would have been a nightmare. But with Nicole there on the day of, we really could relax and enjoy everything. Not a single worry in the world. We got to mingle with each one of our 135 guests and checked everything off the list (photos, dancing, speeches, bouquet toss, etc...) smoothly. It was wonderful! Working with Nicole and her assistant, Heidi, was so easy, something I really appreciated. They both were so sweet and so accommodating, they did an incredible job! If you are thinking of hiring a wedding day coordinator, stop thinking and do it - hire Nicole. She's TOTALLY worth it!
