He mixed great holiday classics new and old with a perfectly sophisticated pallet of modern tunes (this is coming from a bit of a music snob.) Plus, his timing was impeccable and he was on top of rounding people up to eat. He just set a really great mood for the party. And he's a hell of a nice guy. The room we were in at The Firehouse is somewhat challenging and he did his best to compensate for that. After the dinner and drinks and gifts when things started to get rolling he was happy to stay and keep playing; I get the sense that's what he really enjoys, getting people *into* the party. By that time my Shoes of Torture were killing me and my stressed out self was exhausted, but Matt smiled and said, "if it's OK I'm going to keep playing 'til they kick us out of here." They've been working events together for a while and they know each others cues so well it helps everything run so smoothly! Although he was located in a different town than my fiance and I, he worked with us over Skype to make sure he understood all our requests and ensure we got some face-to-face interaction prior to the wedding. He was easy to work with, offering suggestions when asked but always respecting our requests. He was awesome at the wedding, keeping things moving along but always in a pleasant tone and always based on the agreements we reached in advance. And he even found some pretty obscure ABBA tunes that I requested for the playlist. We had two meetings before the wedding, one via skype, and exchanged countless emails. Prior to the wedding Mike did a great job of helping us organize our timeline/itinerary and gave us a lot of helpful suggestions on the order of events.
