Now I'm considering turning this into part one of their massage sampler ($147 gets you three one-hour massages, on different days with different practitioners - that way you get to experience ALL the styles they offer). Location/Space: Very convenient, even by bus. The 49 bus stop is maybe a half a block away. I love the garden at the entrance, that the office is in a remodeled 1909? craftsman (I have a thing for old homes), and the "sun room" waiting area. So on to the important part... the massage. I decided to go with Tara, who does the traditional relaxation and deep tissue massages. What really caught my attention, though, was that she does energy work. This was one thing that was missing for me from the great but rather "medical" massage I got earlier this year, so I was happy to see it was part of her practice. As for the experience... it was one of those where I think "this is nice but nothing special" at first... and about halfway through I realize I have reached that happy place where I think I'm conscious but I'm only really coherent every once in a while. I love that place. My back felt wonderful when I left, and I spent my bus ride home having something of a spiritual experience.

The pressure was not appropriate for treatment during pregnancy. I was made to to sit in a very awkward unsupported position throughout treatment. There was no care for comfort or efforts to calm the nervous system whatsoever... and I received no acupuncture at all. When I told him my age he also laughed and told me it was too late for me to be having a baby... not something I need to hear at 10 weeks pregnant. I spent $60 for 20 minutes and I feel worse than I did when I arrived. During my follow-up I was waiting in the waiting room for 15 minutes which is not a big deal, it was the 40 minutes in the room while listening which sounded like a party right outside the door. At my original appointment I asked about the follow up, if it was even necessary because I know not only do I have a over all drive during Covid of 1 hour 50 minutes, but a $35 copay. I was told I would have to come because stitches needed to be removed. I expressed that I did not want to come in for a unnecessary appointment. Well that was the case, a totally unnecessary appointment. The Dr spent a whole 30 seconds looking at the procedure site. Stating there was 1 stitche still in and it would dissolve. I waz annoyed at the whole waste of approximately 3 and a 1/2 hours that day but since I was not charged for it I just let it slide and did not say anything and left the office. But SURPRISE!!!! 2 1/2 months later I am billed $70 Not only did they bill me for that 32nd appointment with the doctor they also tried to build me for something that should even been billed for. So just because I caught it how many other people have the overbuild how many people just pay the bill because it comes in the mail. My insurance company caught it immediately because I called them and they told me I should call the office to talk about that last office visit. Which is what I did and I was only threatened with collections, threatened with oh don't you know what you signed, you signed forms that you're going to pay whatever the insurance doesn't cover. Yes it is pretty apparent that I am stuck paying this office visit, but had I been not lied to there was absolutely no reason for me to go to this appointment. It is clear this office is only concerned about padding bills and making sure people come in for unnecessary appointments, so they can build insurance companies. When I received this bill I was shocked because I knew I did not owe anything. I was floored that they charged me for a 30 second appointment (that took 3 1/2 hours out of my day). But I am more shocked to how I was treated and threatened by the person in charge of billing. Clients should not be treated that way. I am pretty sure that I am not the 1st person whose bill they have padded. I really hope the insurance companies takes a really close look at their business practices. Maybe she was just caught of guard but Someone's due diligence in looking over their bill in finding discrepancies that lashing out at me was her defence mechanism but still unacceptable. As long as you keep your mouth shut, pay whatever they ask, and do everything they say, you'll be happy with them. But God forbid you actually call them out on their lies and insurance fraud.
