I always come hungry because there is always fellowship over food! Depending on which service you go to, you might hear from Pastor Roy or Pastor Chul. Sometimes there are guest speakers who preach too. Both guys are Bible nerds and preach straight from the Bible, sometimes verse by verse. They help make sense of even the most difficult passages. Bonus - they actually live out what they preach! Praise isn't the best in town, but I come to learn more about God so it's all right to me!

So many members are involved in music, day care, coffee bar, often bringing homemade treats. The children have creative Sunday school teachers in an artistic setting, teens have their own group also. This is my church, but not just by birth, but also by choice…read more My Grandparents were married in this church, as was I. TUMC is a lovely church with loving staff members. They don't always "get it right" in the office, but you can tell they are doing the best they can with their limited resources. During the mid-80's I moved out of the Lafayette area and took my membership with me. While "gone" I attended churches in Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and then back to Illinois. In the end, I still live in Illinois, but have moved my membership back to this beloved church in Lafayette Indiana. There is just something in your heart when you know you are "home", even if my church is 145 miles away.
