He's saved lives for a career and knows what he's talking about! I found him to be friendly, thorough, and approachable. He offered a lot of information related to scene safety assessment that you won't find in the book, and he went more into depth on the Heimlich procedure for infants than I'd heard anywhere else before. He spent as much time as needed and made sure we felt confident in the skills. It wasn't about just knowing all the right answers on paper. It was great to learn something new and refresh the skills I'd previously acquired. The class consisted of only 3 students, including myself, all involved in professional childcare. This small-group feel made it seem more personal and gave us more one-on-one from the instructor. I found this having fewer students refreshingly different from a BLS class I'd taken for health professionals through the Red Cross four years earlier. His price was extremely reasonable. Since he didn't have a First Aid Class that night (it was only CPR/AED), and I needed both, he recommended I take the blended learning approach, doing the education/training portion online through AHA and then staying after the CPR/AED class so he could administer the skills assessment. He was accommodating to help me this way and he even loaned students the required books to study. I was able to get the knowledge and certifications I needed through this class and had an enjoyable time doing it!

The past five months have been a nightmare for our family and our son culminating with us pulling…read morehim out of there this morning after threatening expulsion. He is 3 years old. It's a real shame to post this as the staff and teachers here are truly caring and knowledgeable. Since the change in directors a few months ago though our son has increasingly struggled without receiving the help he needed. He was branded as a problem child for not wanting to engage in activities all the time and for misbehaving. Again, he is 3 years old and when there are 20+ toddlers running around in a single room with just 2 teachers, I'm not sure what they expect. I've frequently seen other children pushing, biting, hitting, and engaging in the usual sort of behavior that young children engage in as they learn social norms. All of which is tolerated even though it is a safety issue. Our son was singled out though and it soon became apparent that the leadership was more concerned with documenting everything for purposes of covering themselves rather than coordinating with his pre-k teachers on ways to help him. We are now stuck in a very difficult position of having to separate our son from his friends and teachers. As a final slap in the face we were told that he could still visit for a week or so as long as someone was available to pick him up at any time. Now ask yourselves this question...why would anyone need daycare if they were already available to get him? We are reasonable people who love our son, and we can say without hesitation that the past several months at Growing Green put incredible stress on our son and family. Communication with parents is poor, and they will not hesitate to expel your child if he isn't able to conform easily. In short, research your options beforehand and don't make a decision based on a single discussion or tour. This decision can have a serious impact on your family as it has ours.

Everything you need to make your testing experience positive. Make sure to bring two pieces of ID...one with a photo. And you may have to frisk yourself before the exam. This is normal exam policy nationwide these days.

When I started…read morebringing my daughter here about 6 months back I thought it was the best daycare because of the love Ms. Sophia has for her children. Well just recently my mother dropped my 2 year old off like a normal thing. And as she was leaving she heard the director (Wanda) yelling at a child "Noo! Don't do that pick it up!!!!" My mom decided to stick around longer to see if she would continue yelling. And she did so she went to the main hallway and saw through the window Wanda had grabbed a chair and forcefully sat MY 2 year old down and tied her own scarf around my babies arms together while placing her leg between my babies privates to restrict her form moving. We have a dcfs case open with this lady. This is a parents worst nightmare!!! My baby is not the same any more :( . Parents if your child cries or doesn't want to stay at a daycare they're most likely being abused please be careful and take care of your children.
