As soon as you walk into this convenience store you smell pleasant aroma from the food in the back. The lamb here is fantastic. I got the gyro platter for 7.59 and only finished all my food because it's that good. The lamb melts in your mouth. My man Ben gave me a little piece of lamb to sample before my meal, and stated better than filet mignon right?! And I had to just nod my head and smile. The side salad, cucumber white sauce, and hummus the meal comes with are all on point. I'm so satisfied, and thankful it didn't break the bank, which is rare nowadays. Friendly service, fantastic food, I'll back here everyday till my class is done here at southeastern. Another Hammond gem!

My first experience at Thai Nola was definitely a mixed one. The food was really good, but…read moreunfortunately the customer service experience had several hiccups that made the visit much more frustrating than it needed to be. When I first walked in, it took about five minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Once a waitress finally came over, I explained that I was placing an order to go, so I headed over to the bar area. The bartender greeted me and things started off pretty smoothly until he informed me that all of the cooks had just gone to lunch and it would be about a 20 minute wait before they could even take my order. Normally I probably would've gone somewhere else, but it was getting later in the day and several of the other restaurants in the neighborhood were getting close to closing, so I decided to wait. Once the cooks returned, he took my order, but then I was told their credit card machine was down and they were only accepting cash or Zelle. Luckily, I had cash, so that wasn't a huge problem. However, after paying, I noticed I was shorted about 86 cents in change. When I asked about it, I was told they didn't have any change available. It wasn't enough money for me to make a big deal about, so I just let it go, but it was still another small inconvenience added to the experience. I waited another 20 minutes or so and started noticing food coming out of the kitchen. The bartender brought several to-go orders out and placed them on the counter. After another 10 minutes passed, I finally started wondering where my food was. One of the hostesses asked for my name, checked through the orders sitting on the counter, and sure enough my order had already been sitting there At that point, I was definitely frustrated. It honestly felt like everything that could've gone wrong during my first visit somehow did. Once I got home and finally sat down to eat, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The quality of the food made me understand why people enjoy this place, and I would definitely be willing to give Thai Nola another try. I just really hope my next visit comes with a smoother customer service experience because the food deserves better.
