Lets talk about Kouzina...having read several of the reviews I am obliged to say that the message of Kouzina is not to be a greek gastronomy specialist in the market - yes it does serve so called greek food, but it's not authentically greek at all - they have greek influences and the buck stops there. Having eaten at Myk a few times and been at Kouzina a couple of times - the difference is clear. Kouzina is quick, smartly priced, "greek-inspired" Brazilian food that actually works quite well. I've only been here for lunch and ordered their dish of the day on both occasions - once it was a 'picadinho de cordeiro' and the second time a basic spaghetti with calamaris - on both occasions I was with friends and we landed up sharing a salad (recommend the Myk salad). The food is fresh, service doesn't take long, you can practically see your food being prepared in their class walled busy & efficient kitchen. Also tried their dessert - a slice of warm chocolate cake with a scoop of coffee ice-cream and the turkish (greek) coffee - no complaints at all. I wouldn't call the food great but the service is friendly and the ambience is cool and yes, it is quite well priced especially for the region where it is located. Kouzina is slightly cramped, as Hans O. puts it in his review, the space between the tables is quite narrow, but hey, its a restaurant where your dish of the day (extremely wells served portion) comes for under R$ 35 - the service is friendly and you get bang for your buck. Kouzina is a restaurante owned by a group that has has greek investors - they have been expanding rapidly in Jardins and each of their establishments meet the purpose & market they are meant to cater to. Recommend it for a quick lunch - just tone down your 'greek' expectations ! read more

My best meal in São Paulo so far! Came here after a long day full of travel, and I was hoping for some satisfying veggie grub. Kouzina did not disappoint. First off- the place is done up very well, I felt like I was in a cozy Greek house. The maitre'd Ileana, was superb- welcoming, fun and attentive. The waitstaff took the time to help me pick the best veggie options. I started with some authentically made dolmades. I was first introduced to this dish as a teenager, and I fell in love with it at once. I enjoyed my meal, but the tzatziki could use some more dill and garlic IMO. The zucchini pasta was light and nice,although I could barely finish it after my hearty mezze. The nicest touch was a complimentary dessert of chocolate, nuts and dolce de leite-compliments of the Chef! What a fantastic dinner! I'd love to go back sometime. read more

This is a very good example of Greek cuisine. I loved that they had pastitsio on the menu. So many Greek restaurants do not!! It was delish! We also had mousaka which was also wonderful. Negatives- slow service, starters came out with the meal, baklava was disgusting! However, I would eat here again. read more

Listen carefully, this place is ok to mingle and drink a Fix with your buddies, not for a date, not even close. Food here is garbage. What did we ate? Greek meatballs: no seasoning and meat reminded me of Kroger's manager's special section Oregano fries: yes, oregano fries because they were so green of so much dried oregano there was. Plus it was limp, and there was no ketchup! Garlic shrimp: these were ok Tzatziki: it comes just like that, no bread or anything to eat it with. Guessing it's a side or to be eaten as an entrée with a spoon. Then, I just can't wrap my head around when its positioned on the menu as an entrée. Greeks are known for their hospitality, but Kouzina does not. Stating with ambience, tables are tiny, very close to each other, huge windows that are kept open and hobos walking by and begging for money, wait staff was aware and they did nothing, menu has plate names on Portuguese and Greek, but when ordered in Greek, the staff would look like you are mental. It's like having a tennis ball in your salad, it's there but you can't eat it. Plus, the place felt pretty much cold, no music, plenty of candles on tables but not lit. No attention to detail, yet, tiny tables but large plates leaving no room for their big presentation entrées. Kouzina is just another themed restaurant, nothing Greek, no Greek owners, no Greek food. Wearing a mini skirt to this restaurant was one of the top worst decisions I have made during my stay in Sao Paulo. My boyfriend and I sat inside, shivering in a corner. Despite our complaints about the positively GLACIAL temperature, we were exiled to the large open windows. Now on to the "comida." The food was generally under seasoned. WHERE THE SALT AT?! I'm writing this in caps because it stresses the urgency and NEED for salt in all of the food at Kouzina. I ordered some weird version of the Moussakka, it started with a "P" and was essentially an eggplant cut in half, topped with meat, and cheese....and NO SALT. The eggplant was undercooked and had the same consistency as the styrofoam peanuts commonly used to cushion Vita-mixes on route from Amazon. My boyfriend had the Mediterranean pasta, which was definitely better but again, NO SALT. The Tzatziki made me want to cry. Literally. I was about to begin balling in the restaurant like a big, fat, Indian baby who had been denied her second serving of bhel puri. Tzatziki can not survive without spices. In other words, this Tzatziki was dead....mainly because of the lack of, YOU GUESSED IT, SALT. I did enjoy the hot sauce and the water. The goat cheese salad did look pretty damn good. Maybe I'll be back to give it a whirl if I run out of restaurants to try in Sao Paulo...so...probably not. read more

The place is beautiful and the food is great, with a good range of options for vegetarians. Crowded but cozy!
