I was expecting your typical, casual pizza joint and I was surprised to see that Carlos Pizza is a lot more elegant than that. There's dim lighting, sophistication . . . it's the type of place that makes for a good date spot. We sat out on their front patio. After ordering a Brazilian beer, I decided to go with the Margherita pizza. Basic I know, especially since Carlos Pizza has a large selection of specialty pies. We're talking 20 or so. But hey, Margherita pizza is a classic. The san marzano tomatoes, the buffalo mozzarella, Marzano, and the basil . . . simple yet a match made in heaven. And Carlos Pizza does it well.
