They don't just promote everyone automatically like some places do. My son is mildly autistic and this is the sport that he thrived at because of the structure and orderliness of it. The teachers are both patient and work with my kids while still firmly insisting on execution and respect. They understand that kids have different learning styles and different levels of motivation and are able to make it work for everyone. The kids really enjoy all the instructors and respond well to instruction and even discipline when it is warranted. I can't speak to cost / value because I have nothing to compare it against but for us it is affordable and all the costs related to uniform, tournaments, and belt ceremonies have good value. I would recommend this place to any child or adult looking to enter the world of martial arts.

The staff is patient and teaches students not only martial arts but a foundation of morals with the Tenants of Taekwondo. This environment has been so positive for my son; it is literally like a big family, everyone supporting each other; cheering for each other, encouraging each other. My son has an amazing deal of confidence and isn't afraid to speak publically, or perform on stage; he is also extremely respectful and polite; attributes I give to the teachings of this studio.

I was immediately impressed with how incredibly clean and well-maintained the facility is--it was clear to me that the owners and coaches take pride in providing a safe and professional training environment. After training there for 2 years now both personally and with my two daughters (7 and 10) I can attest to the fact that the instruction for both adults and kids is world-class. Jeremiah, Dave, Joel, and Julian are highly skilled black belts and have very different approaches to the art of Jiu Jitsu. Refuge has fantastic No Gi coaches as well and I can't say enough good things about Dan, Nick and Gabe. Every instructor at the academy brings a deep level of knowledge to every class, breaking down techniques in a way that's both accessible and effective for all experience levels. Whether you're brand new or more advanced, you'll feel challenged and supported. What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. It has a genuine, welcoming, family feel where everyone encourages each other to improve. The coaches are patient, disciplined, and genuinely invested in each student's growth--not just as athletes, but as people. If you're looking for a place with elite instruction, a positive community, and a clean, professional environment, this is the place for you and your family.

Lifetime Folsom is not a gym... it's a full-blown civilization…read more Met a friend here for a workout, and since she's not a member, we had to do the whole guest pass process first. You know... the "tap here, sign here, acknowledge that squats may humble you today" routine. But I've got to give credit where it's due -- the front desk made it ridiculously easy. They were handling a phone call and getting my friend squared away at the same time, and somehow still made it all look smooth. No chaos, no confusion, no "uhhh let me get my manager." Just straight-up professionalism. The second we walked in, she looked around and said, "Is this a city or a gym?" I said, "Honestly... both." Because Lifetime Folsom is not for the weak or the directionally challenged. This place has everything. Pool, spa, cafe, workout floors, recovery zones, pickleball, tennis, locker rooms that feel fancier than some apartments... at one point I'm pretty sure if you turn the wrong corner you accidentally enroll in a wellness retreat. And my favorite part? The confidence people have before a workout. She came out of the locker room with that movie trailer energy like, "Alright, let's do this." Looking at me like, "Bring it." And I did. I coached her through the workout, and for the first 20 minutes she was hanging in there strong. Then somewhere around that 1 hour and 30 minute mark, the spirit left the body. By the end, the look had changed from "I got this" to "I would like to formally unsubscribe." And honestly? Respect. Because the workout was solid. We laughed the whole time, had great conversation, and got after it. That's what I love about Lifetime -- whether you're going hard or just trying to survive the stair climber without seeing your ancestors, it somehow still feels fun. After we wrapped up, we grabbed our stuff and headed to the cafe because recovery was no longer optional. She needed a pick-me-up, and honestly, probably a new set of legs. We grabbed shakes, sat down, and started coming back to life. Then out of nowhere she goes, "Ummm... tacos?" And I looked at her like she had just spoken the Lord's language and said, "Yes." Then she hits me with, "I got the spot. Follow me." Now THAT is elite leadership. So basically this place gave us: a killer workout, laughs, smoothies, and the launching point for Taco Tuesday. What more do you want from a gym? A zip code? Actually... Lifetime might already have one. In all, Lifetime Folsom continues to prove it's way more than just a gym. It's an experience. It's a fitness amusement park. It's where confidence goes to get tested and where post-workout taco plans are born. And honestly... that's beautiful.

He has helped me achieve a sculpted, strong physique while focusing on proper nutrition, injury prevention, and correcting muscular imbalances along the way. I've never felt healthier or more confident. What really sets Danny apart is that he makes training fun and motivating, not intimidating. Every workout is tailored to my goals, my body type, and how I'm feeling that day -- and somehow he always knows when to push me harder and when to prioritize recovery. Danny is the perfect balance of knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely supportive. Whether you want to get lean, gain muscle, improve mobility, or just learn how to work out safely and effectively, I can't recommend him enough. Working with him has been one of the best decisions I've made for my health and fitness.
