Clearly the system didn't work as I got a form letter regarding my 'no show'. However - what really upset me was the personalized note I received at the bottom of the form letter: "We are very busy in the clinic and need appointment slots for other patients. We appreciate that you not make appointments you can't keep" It was signed by Dr. Waterman - not sure if she or her office wrote the note. Either way it was in bad form to write a shame note at the bottom for a new patient. I will definitely not be seeing her/or anyone at pacific hill if this is the way they treat new / existing patients. Their systematic mishap/bug results in a personalized nasty gram? Not that their office cares as they are so busy. Its hard enough to find a doctor, let alone one you can trust - not going to trust someone who felt the need to shame me before meeting me- or doing their homework that their systems were down. Pretty sure that is why Form Letters exist - to avoid someone writing their own personal feelings and making customers (because its America, we pay for treatment) angry or feel as though they can't entrust the individuals in who we place our most intimate needs.

For good reason! She is friendly, very intelligent, and I feel comfortable speaking with her about any concerns or questions without it being awkward. It also helps that things are explained in ways that make sense, not in a bunch of medical gobbledygook. Sometimes she is a little hard to schedule, as she is obviously very busy, but she is competent and definitely someone I would recommend.

Coming in, I had all of these fearful/negative images in my head. I spent the night youtubing videos and reading other peoples feedback on their root canal experiences. Needless to say, Dr. Berude turned my fears into mere perception. He is very compassionate, understanding, and full of patience. He will take his time to prep you, answer all your questions/concerns, and guide you through the entire process. I never felt more at ease. I was expecting excruciating pain from the needle injection, but felt nothing more then a mere pinch. In fact, it hurts less then getting a tattoo embedded in your skin! Once the novocain kicks in, your mouth will be numb and all you'll feel is the pressure and vibration from the utensils. I have no side affects, so residual effects and no longing aches. I can't wait to get the crown (although, it will cost me an arm and a leg) so that my teeth will become more stable. I really wish he was a general dentist so that I can make him my primary dentist. Needless to say, if I ever need another root canal done (knock on wood) he will be my go to guy.

It was just recently though that I became extremely grateful for Dr. Berude's quality and total patient care. I was referred to him for a new tooth problem last week and he found that it was something he probably couldn't solve long term and told me that his recommendation was to get the tooth extracted. Being my first time with such news, I asked Dr. Berude a hundred different questions about bridges, and other options and then about the process of extraction and implants. He sat and discussed all these things with me very thoroughly and patiently; in fact he encouraged my questions and was very understanding about my hesitation in making a decision. He didn't make me feel rushed or dumb and I finally resolved myself to the decision that the tooth really would need an extraction. Dr. Berude told me to call if I needed anything. I thanked him for his help and went to the counter only to discover that he had not charged me a penny for the visit. This was impressive considering that x-ray's had been taken, he had spent at least a half hour examining and talking with me and the fact that I had taken a slot that was expected to a for an hour and a half root canal. It's one thing to have a dentist do quality root canals, it's another thing to feel that, as a patient, you're a high priority. I probably wouldn't have minded paying for the visit, but this action told me more than anything that his concern was genuine and he respected me as a patient.

On my first visit she identified and successfully treated a scalp issue that had plagued me for at least 25 years (previous doctors had never identified it and all previous treatments had done nothing). I realized it was the same problem my father had and when we asked his doctor to prescribe the same treatment for him, he also finally had relief. Since that first visit she has treated me and my husband for various issues that have come up as we age as well as checking moles. I love seeing her because she is warm, caring and knowledgeable.

Only 4-Stars due to the staff being somewhat "pushy" with regards to selling us (wife & I) new glasses. We went in explaining we are retirees on Medicare with Aetna Insurance (supplemental). One of the staff members checked our medical coverage and immediately said we needed to pay $39.00 each for the exams. My wife explained that we shouldn't be charged due to our age and we are diabetic (this exam being our annual check-up), and we've never been charged before. She then checked again and came back and said, "Oh, your exams are free". I understand that LensCrafters is in the business to make money, but being retired and on fixed incomes we cannot afford $400+ for glasses (each). The person assisting us was somewhat reluctant to give us our prescriptions, but my wife was persistent and we obtained copies of our prescriptions. Nice selection of frames with high-class names (Ray Ban, Stetson, etc.), but when you add up the costs of new frames ($188-$200+) and lenses, they quickly become cost prohibitive. As stated in the begging of this review, Dr. Pham was knowledgeable and great to talk with. We'll more than likely be back next year for our annual exams.
