The circle is the technique sampler used to learn the basic process and three of my creations done during a single class.

Went here for my birthday with two of my besties for a resin jewelry class. Location is directly across the street from the underground Nuuanu and Beretania municipal parking lot, so parking was a breeze. The shop itself was lively and inviting with displays of the other types of craft classes offerings. There is a large table in the center of the shop where patrons can socialize and design their art. The husband and wife owners led the class and were so warm, encouraging, and explained the process very well. I'm not the best artist, but with my besties who are and I feel that both novices and artists would find the class engaging. It was easy to get your creative juices flowing with the plethora of add in and mold design options and the wire frames for pendants and earring available. For this class, we did a trial mold to learn the basic technique first, then we were allowed to choose what combination of 3 items to create (1 set of earrings counted as 1 item, and you could also choose pendants or keychains). It was a relaxed atmosphere with good music and opportunity to interact with our neighbors. We even sang happy birthday to the girl who was celebrating her 10th birthday there. All in all, I highly recommend this business for the unique experience and cherished memories. I will definitely be back.

The experience was SUCH a blast - our host really brought the hype energy and got our group into the spirit. Without spoiling anything, the activities vary a lot in the skills required (some will be familiar from real-life game shows). This means that no one skill guarantees victory (I am terrible at trivia, but I still did pretty well!). We were hooting and hollering throughout the experience - luckily the rooms are closed off enough that it's okay to be loud! The team at GBGS also went above and beyond for us - we were celebrating a wedding AND a surprise pregnancy announcement, and the team helped us incorporate the pregnancy reveal into one of the games. It was such a special moment for everyone involved. They even gave us a hand-written note at the end congratulating the married couple and the new parents! Overall, I was blown away by the experience and the stellar customer service. 10/10 would recommend!!

The Ultimate Tenth Birthday - Like Stepping Onto a Real TV Set!…read more We recently celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday at the Great Big Game Show at Ala Moana Center, and it was an absolute hit! We brought a group of 8 kids, and from the moment we walked in, they felt like total celebrities. The front office staff made everyone feel welcome and explained what would be coming up, creating a sense of excitement before we entered the studio. Why the Kids Loved It: The "Real" Factor: This isn't just a living room setup. The venue is designed to look and feel exactly like a professional television game show set, complete with podiums, buzzers, and high-energy lighting. Our game show host Christian explained how everything would work and then lit the fuse! There was non-stop excitement from start to finish. Keeping eight 10 year-olds engaged and moving towards the goals was a feat of persistence but he did it and ensured that everyone had fun. High Engagement: With 8 kids competing, the energy was electric. The games were perfectly paced to keep ten-year-olds focused, excited, and laughing the entire time. The games were a blend of Jeopardy and Family Feud which were fun and easy for the kids. Inclusive Fun: Whether they were the "class clown" or a bit more reserved, every kid got their moment in the spotlight. It was competitive in the best way possible--lots of cheering and friendly rivalry. The Atmosphere: Our host Christian did a fantastic job of managing a group of energetic kids, making sure the rules were clear while keeping the "show" moving. It was organized, loud (in a good way!), and genuinely fun for the adults to watch, too. Final Verdict: If you're looking for a unique, high-energy birthday idea that stands out from the usual park or pizza place parties, make a booking for the Great Big Game Show. It was a "perfect ten" for her tenth birthday! Cost is reasonable and there's a Kamaaina discount!

Reschedule policy was the same price as our individual package. Cancellation policy was more than the price of one of us. It's a very expensive policy. Tried Out a Rage Room for the First Time - Totally Worth It!…read more I've been hearing about this rage room for a while and finally decided to check it out. I called ahead to ask about any discounts for locals or birthdays, and they told me they do offer a local discount with valid ID -- nice little bonus! They also said they had availability that day, so I figured, why not? The whole experience was super satisfying. Ever feel like breaking something at work but don't want to get fired? Break n Anger is the place to let that urge out safely and legally. Here's how it works: You get to choose 2 items from the top shelf and 5 items each from shelves 2, 3, and 4 -- so about 17 items total to smash. After signing the waivers, you suit up in a jumpsuit, gloves, and a helmet. They offer earplugs too, but I skipped those -- the sound of breaking stuff is half the fun. Honestly, the time flew by -- I went all in for 10 minutes and it felt like seconds. I probably should've paced myself, but I really wanted to let the rage out. No regrets though -- it was super fun, and I can totally see this being a great team-building activity. I'm definitely planning to go back and try the premium items next time!

We were looking for something fun to do with our daughter on the long Labor Day weekend especially…read morebecause we rarely get weekends off together, so we wanted to make it as special as possible. She loves the idea of escape rooms, but panics when we're in them LOL! I scoured the internet for something we haven't done before and all the escape rooms were either too pricey, wouldn't explain how to escape when we inevitably didn't breakout, or didn't have private escape rooms. Then Google suggested Scaventours which in all my days of searching never appeared! Scaventours is on the ground floor of Marriot Waikiki. Opposite side of the hotel from the Valet. The side with the tour bus pickup. The sign says they're open daily from 9-7 I believe, but you can look up the games and book online. We booked our game morning of and all went well. There's no parking, so we parked at the Zoo like they suggested. We parked at the back half of the zoo (Mauka side) and just followed that road straight pass Denny's. That path lead us straight to the correct hotel entrance to find Scaventours easily. ALSO, the Zoo Parking wasn't taking debit cards and my husband only had a $10. He paid for 2 hours but the machine didn't give change so we got ripped. Be aware of that when parking there. After reading up on the games, I decided we would do Kanaloa's Curse. A scavenger hunt that stayed INSIDE the hotel with various puzzles fit for ages 6-11 even though some of them had me stumped. I appreciate that the game isn't timed and that there was an option to stay inside the hotel because I'm not trying to take my 7yo scavenger hunting on the streets of Waiks. It was super reasonably priced at $23 for my husband and I and $14 for my daughter. We were given the map and a clipboard of puzzles, complimentary pens and candy and we were off. The hunt took us through the ground floor of the hotel finding different things and solving puzzles. It took us just about an hour with my 7yo finding everything and doing every puzzle, so it was PERFECT for her!! At the end, we returned to the store, unlocked the treasure, she got some prizes, and we took photos with the mascot raccoon statue. She was immediately begging to do the rest of the hunts. Successful find both Scaventours and the actual scaventour!!!!

Painting in Kaneohe, Hawaii…read more.. Paint nights have been happening for years and this is the first time that I got a chance to experience one. Thanks to Jessica and Jules for planning this group activity and organizing us! Before Jessica moves to the mainland, there were a few things that she wanted to do together and one of them was painting. She selected this picture of a waterfall with a flowering tree and butterflies because the other pictures looked "touristy"... haha! The venue (The Beach House) was a local bar in my neighborhood. It was convenient for me since I live and work in Kaneohe. I knew where it was (next to Windward Mall) and that there was free parking...and a restroom with curtains instead of walls to designate separate stalls! Tip: Just lock the door for privacy! Don't let anyone else in with you, ladies! Our instructor, Kate, was awesome! She was so bubbly, informative, and reassuring. I have never painted before and I have always wanted to try. I was afraid of the outcome...lol! This was a super great experience! All of the supplies were provided. Kate and her assistant, Lei, set up and cleaned up for us! We had a blast - and a finished product to remind us of a happy memory. Gosh, Jessica... I'm starting to really miss you already... waaahhh! (Crying a waterfall now...) =( P.S. Thanks to Jules for her patience in walking me through the online registration. I couldn't have done it without you! P.P.S. We were given a stamp card - wow - a Loyalty Program... shall we go again?

One of my friends had them come out for her birthday and we play for about 3 hours at Sand Island. At first, I was like come on really... How fun could this be? But I gotta tell you, it was a lot of fun. And a lot tiring as well lol. I mean you're running around trying to hit people and not get hit at the same time. I hate to admit it but I was one of the few that got hit in the face lol... So pretty much she called them and made an appointment. They come and set everything up. I mean everything. All the props, masks, bows and arrows. There was two of them and they showed us how to play and officiated all the games. They were really nice. Pricing is $400 but for 3 hours but we had about 20 people show up who wanted to play so it was only $20 per person. Only 12 can play at a time which is 6x6. I feel 6 on 6 is good, you don't want more than that. The field can get pretty small with more people. The concept is pretty much like dodge ball but with arrows. I highly recommend them and go check them out. www.archeryhawaii.com

Upon walking in, we were greeted by her pig and her little fur babies which we LOVED!! Her house is beautiful and so welcoming- you feel like home when you're there and when she's talking to us and teaching us, it feels like you and your friends are chatting and catching up. She has this personality that draws you in and has so many stories about her adventures! Our class consisted of 5 people including my husband and I, so fairly small and we made 3 different types of poke, deluxe spam musubi, coconut shrimp and coconut butter mochi. All of them are drool worthy and what I think was amazing is that she shares little tips and tricks about what she puts in her food to make it even better! Honestly, the ahi poke that we made was the best I've ever had and it cuts and melts in your mouth like butter!!! Along with all of Linda's wisdom about cooking, she also teaches you about local Hawaiian culture, words and history about how each food became what it is today. All in all, we are going to come back to take another class! We loved the atmosphere, the delicious food, and the rich history that makes Hawaii Hawaii.
