So many people have commented on how it brought the day together and kept people amused, especially the children, at a point when the day could easily have gone flat. We would definately recommend booking David for any event where you are worried that your guests may get a little bored of sitting around with nothing to do. We had an early wedding (11am) which left 3hours in the afternoon and without booking David our day would of turned out so much different.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Unfortunately we chose Andrew as our photographer, we'd seen…read morehis work but what we received was nothing like the albums he'd shown us. He arrived on the day and was rude to family and suppliers and also made inappropriate comments to young female guests about 'only fans' which they were upset and grossed out by. He left without telling us meaning we didn't get the sparkler shot we'd discussed with him. We could have dealt with all of this if the pictures we'd received back had been of a good quality but they were awful. We showed them to 2 independent photographers who agreed (as well as friends and family) that they were of poor quality and not inline with the work he shows online. We cannot understand the 5* reviews given ours and our guests experience. We made a formal complaint and thankfully got money back but it really doesn't make up for the upset and stress caused. On top of that Andrew just wouldn't accept our points and the points of other professionals. It was everything from lighting, positioning, obstructions, poor photoshopping people out of couples portraits, blurring as well... I could go on.

I came to Morag Macdonald (Documentary Image) to have some head shots done around a month ago…read more It was fantastic, it's always so difficult to have an individual photo done like that as you always feel a little uncomfertable, but Marag made the whole thing so easy and comfertable and drawing out exactley what I was looking for in the photo. You are paying for the quality, and you definatley get it. From the moment you walk in the studio it is such a relaxed, but very modern and contemporary atmosphere. There are a couple of sofa's so you can sit and read a magazine while you wait for all the equipment to be set up. Then you are given alot of time and attention during the shoot itself. Afterwards I had a chat with Morag about the kind of finish I was after and she new exactly what it was I meant and we scheduled in a time in a few days for me to come and check the photo's were ok and come and pick them up. All in all a really easy but brilliant photography session.

It really put our minds at ease so on the day, Morag knew where we'd be, at what time and knew who everyone was when it came to group photos. Morag is such a lovely lady who put both Ellie and I at ease - she even managed to get some great kissing shots of us - something we never thought we could pull off! :o). The rest of her photos were stunning too from the bridal morning shots, to the church, to an oak tree and finally the evening reception. She has an amazing ability to blend into the background but also has a great way with people to get the best shots! A nice contrast to the more contemporary art focused Arnolfini, this corner of town really does have a lot of cultural offerings. You'll particularly like this place if you have any interest in the built environment, not just 'architecture' in the stereotyped classical sense of the word. As well as exhibitions they have events every now and then, things like debates and big art projects. The various goings on make it the Architecture Centre a stimulating experience, particularly if you're interested in buildings.

The venue has exhibition space for projects worldwide and is a hub for finding out about conferences, talks and events to do with architecture and the environment. They hold their own little events as well looking at Bristol in particular and are quite strongly devoted to encouraging children to look at their city - for example they have some design classes coming up and a drawing day. The gift shop at the front of the venue is fantastic - I actually use this as my main card shop in town - and their commitment to children's education continues here with a nice selection of educational and design-led toys, making it great for buying gifts for some of the parents I know! They also have a nice selection of jewellery from local artists, some very unusual things. On top of this they have a conference room to hire.

They've been in Bristol as long as most people have known, tucked away down Jamaica Street. The real gem about this place is its elusiveness. For many years I thought it has been derelict and shut down, only now realising you need to press the buzzer to get in. They enjoy their work coming from word of mouth, the traditional way. Their chosen medium for printing is clothing but they have the equipment and capabilities to print much more. Not known for being that responsive to the phone, the best bet is probably to pop in and talk face to face about what you want.

However in this building lies some screen printing magic, run by two awfully nice guys. Yes, they are a screen printers, and popular ones at that; they have never advertised their services since they began but have a very steady flow of customers, which says something about the quality of their work and friendly professionalism. They source good quality tees, and they take their time discussing your exact needs for your print, and even invite you be there for the process itself so that you get to see how it is all done. Tip top printers, should you ever need some tees done.
