Pretty nice mercantile. They have a field of cows next to it. They have a pretty nice selection of clothes. They also have a fitting room. Grocery selection was nice. The employees barely spoke. Good prices on everything. There was cow mooing playing on the speakers was a little disturbing. Other than that...it is nice for a small town grocery store. read more

We stopped here for souvenir coffee mugs because we can find any in this town. Unfortunately, there was only one small mug that said Kremmling. Not much in the souvenirs dept besides shirts but otherwise it's a nice little grocery store. Not much for gourmet cheeses either though(like Gouda for a charcuterie board). read more

The Kremmling Mercantile is not limited to being a liquor store, but the only real grocery store for miles! in the ghost town of Kremmling, CO, they are a valuable shopping addition for necessities and have a really awesome gas station attached!! The store reminded me of a surplus/retail/grocery/liquor/tourist all in one; they have decoys, fishing poles, hunting gear etc., The deli & meats department could use an alternative plant based section and that would really be my suggestion to a 5 star! However, I can understand that plant based meat, might not exactly be in high demand in this here town. They obviously sell local honey. They have really interesting items that I did need like "Simply Potatoes," which are my absolute favorite! I bought a couple packs for camping and we brought a portable stove. This place is small business, so I was happy to support it. It reminded me of the ol' Wild West. I was surprised by how big it was and super organized as well! Their staff was actually very friendly and there seems to be lots of regulars here. If I was a resident of Kremmling, this would be a go to. The next big chain is 35 miles out, so Kremmling Mercantile Liquor Store does help. read more

I read the reviews before stopping and was a little worried. Happy to report we had a good experience. They were surprisingly well stocked for a small town store. They had oxygen cans, liquor, snacks, souvenirs, groceries, and snow boots. I paid the same there for snow boots as i did at a big chain store for heavy rain boots, so i felt like it wasn't price gouging. The clerks were helpful, the store was clean. read more

On the long haul back to Boulder from Steamboat Springs, CO we stopped in for some gas. As my windshield wiper fluid was low, and remembering that the weather on I-70 can be oh so unpredictable we decided to head on in for some washer fluid. We must have been in the store for an hour. There was a clothing section catering to hunting themed attire, a dressing room modeled after an outhouse, a pharmacy, a deli, a bakery, a grocery store, and a liquor store all wrapped into one. To be honest I felt a bit like I could be back home in Maine, particularly with all the hunting accessories. Items were priced well considering we felt quite a ways away from it all and as noted by other shoppers we did get a good deal on items not priced/in the computer. The bakery section was to die for - 99 cent cinnamon rolls/fritters and donuts ranging from 69-67 cents - or a dozen for $7.99! Will definitely be back for these guys (wasn't eating gluten, added sweeteners, or processed foods at the time of this trip). There were also packaged donuts that we had never heard of before which looked to die for! To note there is a sale rack in near the freezer section that features some "reduced for quick sale" times - baked goods mostly. Here we found cookies, single cake servings, and bread. At the check out counter there were hunting knife sets, as well as the normal run of the mill point of purchase items. The conveyor belt was replaced with a turn-style system which I just adored. I will 100% be back the next time I am driving through to both gas up and sample those donuts! read more

Store looks nice but did not go in. If you buy gas be warned that your credit card will be charged for $75 even though you buy even less. I brought $39 and was charged $75 but was refunded the difference in a few days. I'm not sure what their problem is for credit cards. read more

The store was nice. Cashiers were a bit rude. But none of that bothered me. What bothered me was I went to get gas. We got $15 worth of gas and charged it to a credit card. The next day there was a charge for $75!!!!! When I called the store, the manager was sincerely disgusted with me that this was an issue. He said the money would be credited in a few days. This gas station has policy of putting a hold of $75 on your debit card when you use it at the pump. I get that. But when the keypad at the pump is faulty, and won't let you put in your zipcode correctly and you have to swipe your card repeatedly...yeah, you guessed it, multiple charges of $75 that don't get reversed for 3 days. Had to review the Kremmling Mercantile after last weekend because it may be my favorite grocery store now. Boyfriend and I went there to get some food for camping and walked out with some of the greatest things. We got these sweet Halloween wine glasses with skulls on them that didn't have price tags and weren't in the computer.. Therefore we got them for quite a deal! They have an awesome selection of meats-- smoked beef brisket, pork candy, lots of different sausages.. We got a package of sausages and the brisket. They both tasted AMAZING. Lots of the meats there are obviously from small farmers/hunters in CO, MT, etc. and you can taste the greatness. Also got other food for bargain prices that you wouldn't find at your local King Soopers. The next day we actually came back to buy more of the Halloween glasses. I ended up buying more smoked brisket to bring home too! We got some decent pizza slices to go. They also have a liquor store attached and lots of hunting/outdoor clothing too, so you can make a one-stop trip if you need lots of different things when heading up north to the Steamboat area from Silverthorne (or if you need to use the restroom!). There is a gas station in the parking lot as well. I'm not a fan of Kremmling, really, but you better believe I am a big fan of the Mercantile. read more

Great place to stop for gas, food, beer & liquor. Clean and friendly. Note the posts about credit card excess charges are incorrect! A day after shopping here, got text alert for $75 charge, called Wells Fargo and the Buggy Stop,,,,, apparently 75 bucks is the max fuel you can put in before a pump times out. So if their point of sale computer does not have instant access to your bank computer it assumes worse case where you might buy 75 bucks of gas. When their bank puts thru the final charge, the 75 bucks comes off. When I returned home, the $75 dollar charge was rescinded and replaced with actual amount I paid for gas. Apparently this may be common in rural areas without high speed internet. I have had the same issue when traveling in the Caribbean. So, Buggy Stop is NOT a rip-off as indicated by a previous review. No credit cards, no cash, and less than a quarter tank of gas. What to do? With only a checkbook, neither of the two banks in town could help because I didn't have an account with them.
