I added that our experience would be reflected in our evaluation. She responded by stating that this "caused a problem" for them and unilaterally rewriting the contract to indicate that we would have to leave the following day, She provided only a partial refund. I spoke with several different people at VRBO customer service. Fernando and Angela were especially helpful, explaining that we had not broken any house rules, that we could not be evicted, and that the host could not rewrite the contract without my approval. I explained this to the host, who repeated sent emails, purporting to be from VRBO itself, rather than from the host telling us we had to leave. After we left, she sent 10 emails demanding payment of $3,028, then $3,178, then cancelling request, requesting $3,028, $1,408, cancelling these, sending others demanding payment for cleaning and others, then cancelling these. Our two week vacation was ruined by three days in an apartment that was not as advertised, a contract broken by the host, then harassing emails and eviction.

However, it has been over 4 months, and I have not received back my money. They have sent Zelle's in drips and drabs and we have had to chase them every week. The screenshots I have clearly show their deceitful attempts to delay by making empty promises. They are shamelessly running a Ponzi scheme, preying on the sick and their families during their most vulnerable moments, using the next tenant's money to cover their obligations. This behavior is not just reprehensible; it is a clear display of their utter lack of empathy and decency. I urge everyone to steer clear of this property and its heartless management.
