There are quite a few qualities that make Caroline stand out from other photographers: 1. She is not afraid to work hard for the right shot. Wedding guests still make comments about the crazy positions she managed to get in to take the perfect pictures! She's not afraid to get her hands dirty, so to speak, and that's an important quality in a photographer who is taking pictures that you will look at for a lifetime. 2. She is flexible and willing to meet with you before your event. Caroline and I met for coffee months before she took our engagement photos. Her personality is the perfect combination of warm, animated, and creative, which shines through her gorgeous pictures! 3. Transparency and responsiveness. She is straightforward and honest about what to expect from her, and is always an email, phone call, or text away. 4. Caroline is reliable. I repeat: she is reliable. They have a live bee hive inside, which is very cool. And there are some pretty cool historical cars and buggies. It isn't going to take long to go through this place; the kids may like it. There is a little to learn. Basically, if you are looking for something to do and you have time to spare, this is a great spot. But if you are on a time constraint, I would skip it. I certainly wouldn't call it 'creepy'.

It felt like a means for a collector to share his collectibles with the public. They were in the process of adding a stage so things were shifted around and it did have a lacquer paint smell. My group did not understand how the Yellow Barn made any money, being that they do not charge and the gift shop was basically Vinci (pandora-type) jewelry. Overall, I can appreciate a place like this because it allowed me to show my son what my father's tv looked like when he was around my son's age. If you are in the area - visiting the cavern or the delicious Route 11 potato chip factory, it would not kill you to stop in, but it probably isn't worth a long drive. It looks as though they rent the space for weddings and other large party events.

I make the drive from New York to Nashville pretty regularly to visit family, and this is a stop I…read morehit every single time. It's consistently one of the best rest areas along I-81. The bathrooms are always clean, there's more than enough parking, and the entire area is really well maintained, especially the lawns. I travel with my dog, and this is the perfect spot for both of us to get out, stretch our legs, and get some fresh air. There's plenty of space to walk around, and it's usually pretty quiet, which makes it even better after a long stretch of driving. It's also a really scenic stop, with nice views of the mountains and surrounding area. There are a few other rest areas within 30-60 miles, but this one and the partner one on the southbound side on I-81 are easily the best in the area.
